    Thank you, guys. 1st for the apology 2nd for the communication between servers (!!) 3rd for the swift change Please learn from this mistake and communicate with other servers more frequently! It's a good start for equal treatment between all servers. And thanks for beeing chill about the more aggressive comments in this thread.

    Public Test 0.6.0 Feedback - New Skill System

    While the new Radio-Skill is somewhat troublesome, it is actually very hard to pick, due to the large amount of quite important and often used skills on the 3rd and 4th skilllevel. Some things that bother me: -Very few skills usable on 1st row for any other ship than CV. -I don't use incoming fire alert on any ship, because I usually tend to see who is pointing their guns at me -the enhanced spotting-ability is somewhat useless in my opinion (see above) -Expert loader might be of some use for BB-captains, but I prefer to use AP even on DDs (one lucky pen and huge damage)..for cruisers and DDs due to already fast reload somewhat useless +only logical reason: reduced module-incapaitation-chance by -30% + maybe 2nd plane for cruisers without hydro or US/IJN-BBs. Already slow reactiontime to airattack would be even worse, I guess. Skills if found quite interesting: + Jack of all trades a viable option for cruisers with important consumables (radar) or german battleships (without secondarybuild) due to hydro + +20% smoke radius nearly a must-have for everything that got smoke (especially RN cruisers will be happy with it) ~ Evasive maneuvers: In randombattles a good skill, but it could proove difficult for team/clanbattles, where empty divebombers are used for early spotting due to speed. maybe need 2 seperate captains for random/teambattles ~ Radio skill. Questionable mechanics, but hard to pick, due to more expensive skills on 3rd and 4th row ~ HEAP: difficult to pin down. Can be useful on some ships, but very expensive, because of plentiful, reliable alternatives on 4th and 3rd row - Firey takeoff. In my opinion useless, because if you are burning and can't repair in a CV, you are screwed either way. Better pick concealment - last effort far too weak effect. for lost health (2.99 sec less reload on a average, near dead BB, cruisers and DD even less) Might be viable if it ignores healing-effect from consumable, but still questionable. Skills that mess up/complicate frequently used builds - Basic Firing Training on 3rd row: before easy to pick as dps-buff for DDs, secondaries and AA, now very expensive for it's abilities and difficult to use with must-have skills for different classes. maybe viable for pure AA-cruisers - Torpedo rearm on 3rd skillrow: only a valid option for pure torpedo-vessels now, without loosing something more important. - Basics of survivability: Skill too strong for first row, but maybe too expensive for 3rd, because of competiton on the 3rd bar. personal opinion by testing frequently used builds: CV can use stuff like concealment-expert and don't have to loose on anything or get even more/better skills Radio skill can be a problem, but is very hard to pick due to more expensive, important skills (maybe BB or CV without bigger problems..or US DDs without healthbonus and demo-expert) not sure/lacking description about reduced fire-chance (-7%) skill (does it reduce fire-areas from 4 to 3 on BBs? and if, how large are these?), could be potential gamechanger for BBs (harder to set 2 fires with 1 salvo like IJN/RU tend to do in higher tiers)
  4. This could be very interesting when facing typical HE-spammers. It would be much harder to set more than 1 fire with 1 single salvo. 80% of the time I'm burning in the 2 middle (superstructure) sections.

    Ist immer noch ein meilenweiter Unterschied, da du selbst mit Radioskill nicht zuverlässig in eine Richtung feuern und treffen kannst, höchstens Torps werfen (und da auch nur für wirklich gut Spieler ohne indicator) Du kannst natürlich Concealment und Radio nehmen. Verzichtest du dann aber auf Torpedonachladezeit (IJN), AFT (RU) oder Survivability-Expert (US)? Oder Demoexpert/ Superintendent?

    The problem with german DDs is the detectionrange after firing guns, that got nerfed to hell. You can't stealthfire with any german DD (maybe at on or 2 with 200m distance). Combined with crappy smoke this means, if you use your (quite punchy) guns, you are 100% spotted for everyone. On the positive side, your torps are fast and difficult to spot (but around 8-10km range)

    Was mir bei dem Radio-Skill auffällt, nachdem ich etwas herumprobiert habe: Du musst auf fast allen Schiffen einen mehr oder minder wichtigen Skill der bisherigen Skillungen reduzieren muss. Auf der dritten und 4ten Stufe gibt es so viele starke Skills, die bisher Standard waren. Auf welchen verzichtest du, um ein "permaradar" zu kriegen? Concealment? Manual Secondary? AFT? Basics of Survivability?

    Please tell me the solution is worked on by you guys and not the general area of management who was responsible for this debacle in the first place. But thanks for the heads up. Please keep us informed about the topic from your side. Speculation leads often to a bad image. We would love to understand you guys at WG EU better.

    So, I have finally bought Yamato

    I had the Izumo for a while and now played the Friedrich for a bit. I often meet Yamatos in my Freddy and in the rare occasions they are no angle-and-reverse-captains, I still manage to damage them with 420-blaze-it-guns from the front through the deck, unlike with puny 406 US-shells. While I can't overpen like Yamato herself, I still can do nice damage, while he is unable to citadel me from the front. It comes down to rng and if he gets scared and tries to turn away..in wich case he has to show side. This confidence in a Freddy makes me think that the Kurfurst with 4 guns more is at least a worthy oponent for a Yamato.
  11. I'm sceptical of some changes too, but I also say...let's see how it works out. PT are exactly for that, so we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Let dem screw up, before you blame them.

    Why do I suck with the Benson so hard?

    I think I got a similar problem like you and I'm just now slowly getting the hang of it. Up to Mahan, you could play very aggressive, but the meta is shifting at T8 to bigger maps, much more camping and also quality of skill (relatively). You won't get supportingfire from cruisers at the start of the game, because they are afraid of beeing spotted first. and you have to travel lager distances, so BBs need a while to get anywhere. I would recommend you for the first minutes of the game, to rely on spotting, using torps, and of course, capping. If you find your cap contested by an enemy DD, ONLY engage him when you got support and he none, or you know you can take him out without taking much damage. You can play more aggressive in the mid to later stages of the game, where ships are more split up and usually busy with something else.
  13. Lieber Crysantos, liebes Community-Team: Ich versuche hier immernoch den Sinn der Aktion zu begreifen. Im ersten Moment denkt man ja, dass ihr auf Geld aus seid, aber das stimmt in diesem Fall eigentlich überhaupt nicht. Die Graf Spee Bundles werden auf dem anderen Server in Stufen billiger angeboten, damit man mehr Zeit dafür hat, den Santa-Konvoi zu erledigen. Weil es aber auf EU keinen Santa-Konvoi gibt, gibt es keinen Grund dazu, überhaupt ein Bundle zu kaufen, da man sich die Graf Spee ja gratis (und recht einfach) erspielen kann. Jetzt könnte man sagen, ihr wollt es über die Camos reinbekommen, die ihr seperat verkauft. Rechnen wir mal nach: Die Graf Spee alleine kann man für etwas unter 20 € kaufen. 1000 Dublonen sind etwa 4 Euro Das heißt, um den Preis einer Graf Spee reinzubekommen, müsstet ihr Camos im Wert von 5000 Dublonen verkaufen (2x T6 +Tirpitz oder 5x T6) Was denkt ihr wie hoch die Wahrscheinlichkeit ist, dass jemand so viele Camos kauft? Und das war noch das billigste Bundle (Schiff only) Die ganze Aktion macht ja nichtmal aus monetärer Sicht Sinn. WG EU fährt garantiert Verluste im Vergleich zu anderen Servern ein und hat noch schlechte PR bis tief ins nächste Jahr hinein. Was war das bitte für eine Entscheidung? Davon mal abgesehen, hören wir jedesmal, dass der Community-Staff erst von den Entscheidungen erfährt, wenn die Sache schon implementiert wird. Der Community-Staff (als scheinbar die einzigen im ganzen Unternehmen, die auch nur irgendeine Ahnung von der zahlenden Spielerbasis haben) muss unbedingt in den Entscheidungsfindungs-Prozess eingebaut werden, wenn ihr sowas in Zukunft vermeiden wollt. Wenns sein muss, geht damit nach Zypern. Aber eure firminterne Kommunikation muss sich drastisch verbessern. PS: Und bitte kommt mir nicht mit dem Familienzeit-Grund. Die Aktivität ist über Weihnachten so hoch wie schon lange nicht und die Weihnachtsfeierlichkeiten dauern vielleicht 3 Tage bzw übers Wochenende.     It's not even a greedy moneygrab. There is no way anyone would now buy a Graf Spee bundle, because there is (due to lack of santa-convoy) no reason to get it earlier. And they surely wouldn't get the money back by selling overpriced camos for t6 ships...you need to buy 3 t6 and 1 tirpitz camo to get the cheapest Spee-bundle in value. This has no rational monetary approach. That's the amazing part of it..it's pure stupidity..you loose money and you get negative PR all over social media.

    This is really an interesting approach, but on the other hand I am still wondering, why WG is so badly organized between servers. Could you imagine WoW-Servers treated differently? Sure you got some fluctuations in the auctionhouse, and maybe tune on some droprates, but could you imagine the sh*tstorm if they never put in some events like the darkmoon faire on one specific server? For a company calling themselves very progressive in online gaming, they are exceptionally terrible at organizing themselves between servers and even the same offices. How often did we hear now, that the community-managers only get to know about decisions when sh*t hits the fan? Why isn't Ph3lan as head of the community-managers part of the decision-making progress? Someone with a reasonable image of the paying playerbase would avoid such incompetent fails beforehand...and should be absolutely necessary in making desicions in the PR-department. Unless we see some huge changes in intern communication, stuff like this will continue to happen.
  16. Finished the last ARP mission today. It wasn't the Nachi, but the one with the torps (because I rarely play DDs and only US ones). I managed to do the 20 russian kills somewhere around christmas, and I think the most kills were russian DDs (because Benson and I do tend to shoot DDs with my BB very often)

    I don't know how much he can influence the WG EU management. Usually, big chefs are not the ones making smaller decisions, they also have a commitee to discuss stuff with...buth rather for longterm decisions.

    Trying to understand Wargaming EU

    Well, I was angry, I was bored and then I took a deep breath and tried to understand Wargaming Europe. Because it is a business, I tried to approach not from the position as customer, but as a manager or developer. I am posting it here, because it doesn't really concern gameplay (and I don't want to give you such an easy reason to close this topic) All these things consist of personal opinions, personal research and I invite everyone to make their own opinion. Now let's get started. There are a lot of Ex-manager for communication&PR for WG EU floating around (the last one beeing Keith Anderson, no idea who the current guy is). The position as a manager seems to change quite often (Anderson started a new job 7 months ago, and started August 2015 at WG..so barely a year) and seems to be a nice milestone for an entry in a CV (curriculum vitae). I also found a business-site with a lot of entries about wargaming.net , where employees can post opinions and reviews anonymous. Link There are some very positive posts by users who post they current position and speak of a very good climate and a lot of opportunities. But it gets a lot darker when they decide to post anonymous. a lot of people mention underpay, problems with the management (doesn't listen to feedback/keeps to themselves) Here's the most recent one: I am saying it here again: It's a personal opinion, based on personal research out of interest and thus take it with a grain of salt. This is my way of getting out the anger without shitposting. I want to understand the guys at WG, and I think at least some of them, try to understand us too. Please don't let us forget, that you have a vision:

    While I do agree that we really care about it, there are some things you would do, that are just difficult or wouldn't work. I'm sure they will bring in ships from dutch or more from panasia navy, but you first have to get the plans and I can see why they are focusing on mainlines first. We only got 3 complete lines (2, if you count CVs) despite all the releases this year. It's easier to build up one complete line than doing the same effort for blueprint-search/permission, thinking about a unique setup for the line and ignoring all the people who want RN and RU battleships. And a company as big as wargaming is always very troublesome to handle alone..that's why we have multiple offices and servers. While I do agree that we have some real problems in the management-area at EU, we can be happy, that other servers like NA or RU don't have them. The creator of WG may not even know what is going on, or just gets a cut report like "people don't like one mission."
