WG tried to support teamplay by rewarding damage taken, capping, etc more than damage. Capping could still be improved for beeing rewarded for not only caputring points, but also blocking, or just helping cap the point (if you had to move out/get sunk before it finished) It's difficult to support teamplay more...maybe give rewards for beeing close to other ships? this would make it difficult for RU cruisers, who are the one cruiserline, especially built for long-range spam. The ebst reward is still winning the game, but most people don't get that.

I think the strong secondaries of german BBs are the first step in the direction of beeing more confident (and I think that's the reason why they are played so much) And as I said above..the cruiser's role is to escort battleships, so they don't need to be afraid of a destroyer popping up, because they have someone with them, who can delet him in 2-3 salvos. We need cruiser captains who ESCORT BBs, not steam off at start and not camp at max range. One or two cruisers escorting a BB into battle is a huge buff of confidence.

I see one problem there. Cruisers have to travel with BBs, not the other way around. A common misunderstanding in this game, that the sluggish, heavy ship should keep up with the fast and maneuverable. How often do you see cruisers accompany BBs at 5km or closer (the range where their AA would be actually effective). I'm sick of cruiser-captains who complain about battleships, while the first thing they do in every match is steaming off fullspeed. In my humble opinion, cruiser captains more at fault for camping BBs than everything else. If I team up in a division with a capable cruiser-captain, I have no fear of pushing and engaging enemies, because I can rely on someone who supports me. and we can focus down enemies very good. How often do you see that in randombattles?

If you really want to pull reality in this, I want my 15km secondaries who are as accurate as cruiser guns (because they are basically exactly that). I got no problem with spread at 15km+ , but thx to the armor update, you can't even reliably pen cruisers at closer ranges. decrease the activation-fuse of BB guns, so we can get rid of those ridiculous overpens at 5-10km range. BBs stay very effective at their best distances, and cruisers can still spam them with HE.

With the new skill, you know can estimate, where and if an enemy DD is moving to a certain cap. You can make very reliable statements, if there will be another DD in the cap, before you even reach it, because it targets the closest enemy. If it's something else, you will spot it first if you are in a DD yourself. If it's not, then you know with 100% certainty, that there is another DD, even if not spotted or blocking cap.

Because I didn't see a thread about it yet, I'll try to post what I know until now: Good Start -Win a battle Feeling Good- use a certain amount of camos (I'm guessing 10 here) Break the Bank - earn 2,017,000 credits An epic journey - sail 2017km Aiming? Too much effort - get 25 secondary-hits on a ship before it sinks (not sure if it has to sink by secondaries, but multiple people can get it from 1 target)

Thanks to the current way how penetrations work, it's much easier to pen a slightly angled cruiser than a completely broadsiding. At least that's my experience. You are a huge target in a BB. Even Atlanta or US-DD catapult shells can hit you reliably at any distance. You can't tank more than 1 cruiser for an extended amount of time, because you are the easiest target to hit for the complete enemy team. Guess what, at closer ranges this chance increases. You can't push in a BB without support. And support is not shooting from behind an island while the BB is trying to defend a cap. Please, go ahead and try playing battleship in hightier yourself. The only BB you play regulary is the Warspite who has one of the best accuracy ingame and overmatching guns on her tier. Try US or german at T8 or up.

I play battleships for quite a while now (IJN and germans, mostly, US only on PTS) and there is a well-known problem with penetration-values of german battleships, especially in high tier. I can handle lacking accuracy at longer ranges (although it derps around at <5km too sometimes). But what I can't handle is the absolute lack of efficiency of german AP at close ranges (you know..the stuff they are built for). The event that made me write the topic, was (besides from my constant garbage-rng) a battle in my Tirpitz against 3 cruiser at different points in one game. All battles took place at ranges of 8-10km. In 5 salvos, I managed to do 23 hits on those (mostly broadsiding) cruisers. 21 of those hits were overpens, only 2 penetrations, no citadel. I developed a habit in the recent weeks, of looking exactly where the shells hit, to improve my aim. I verified the hits (visual damage on the ship models in replays) with the armorviewer and made sure, every single one of these overpens hit the targets at the citadel area, at waterline or slightly above. Now I'm asking: Is it intended for german battleships, to not beeing able to dish out big damage against single cruisers at their perfect brawling-distance? Even if you can handle their awkward accuracy at close ranges, you need to have sacrificed at least 3 virigins to rngesus, to get even normal pens with this AP. To make one thing clear: this is no one time rage, this is no flame. This is a constant obeservation of the penetration-habit of the german AP since the armor-changes. I just want to hear from WG staff, that yes, they intended to make german AP garbage, even at their perfect engagement-distance.

I play this game since 2 years and I'm watching my shells hitting the targets. I can promise you, I have a general idea of aming. Since the armor update, i get a overpen/pen ratio of 3:1 or 2:1 if I'm lucky.

I'm not sure about it. the new skill-setup gives every german BB the ability to pick secondaries just because. +AFT+stealth/manual AA are no problem with 19 skill points. Add the 2 planes and you will have DDs who have to play much more defensive. IJN torps won't hit anything anymore, if you don't happen to meet a bot. US DDs already have trouble with the amount of radar and hydro, now add RDF and they will have trouble contesting caps. Only viable DDs might be RU, because they can keep distance due to superb arcs and have the speed to run away fast when spotted. So no, HEAT isn't worth it for secondaries (fire is still more effective when hitting enemy BBs) In the future, we will see (german) BBs pushing for cap, because DDs are too nerfed for it But maybe they nerf BB accuracy more, so ocassionally the shells land on the other side of the barrel. I'm not sure why they are doing this skill-setup favouring BBs. They are quite strong as it is and in my opinion, even the CV drop-range nerf back then wasn't necessary. Only hope to get BBs in control again are very strong CVs, but as of now, it's easy to pick AA-skills (with better BFT, you now can make Zao in a AA-monster) -
Nice grind^^ I'll wait for 9.1. and then use the 7 days premium from the final task of "science of victory", to grind the convoy. although i won't grind it completely in 2 days. I would get cancer with this long exposure of random-teammates x.x

I've got days where I crash 4 or 5 times (sometimes even 2 times in the same match) Fortunately only once a week or less Usually I can log in again, if I didn't quit the match. -

As I said in multiple threads before: RDF might be a questionable skill, but it is really rare you can pick it with a clear conscience. There are much more reliable and usefull skills for nearly every build and you would loose a lot if you want to pick a still quite vague skill like this. I don't think very good players would profit from it (experience) and neither very bad players (who are already challenged to look at the minimap). The 2 planes could be a much bigger problem for (japanese) CVs and torpedo-based DDs. -
Come on. I know the mission was hard, but you had months for it. Even if you killed a russian ship every 10th game, you still could do it. I got most kills from russian destroyers, just because I shoot them in my BB anyway. I never tried to hold my fire for anything during the mission time (just played more DD to get torps hits..the mission I finished AFTER Nachi). It's just another Myoko anyway, so you are not loosing that much.
