Yeah i have been before there too......lets take a ranked situation : that a BB ( Tier IX Pommern ) can unleash 12 x 11600 damage = 139k potential damage every 33 seconds at 21 km range does not compare in their book to doing ~ 55K* potential damage ( Tier VIII Kaga ) per squadron per ~ 3 minutes. ( launch+travel time+lining up time+ turning for another pass time ) * An average between these attacks : 4x 5400 torpedo = 21k x 2 passes = 42k potential 4x 8800 AP bomb = 35K x 2 passes = 70 k potential 1200 ( seconds in a match ) divided by 33 seconds is 36 salvos = 5000k potential damage. 1200 ( seconds in a match ) divided by 3 minutes 13 attacks = 714 K potnetial damage ( 910 for the AP bombs ) And how does this potential damage translates in real damage ? Well looking at the scoreboard BB and SuperCruisers always farm more damage. My own experience in BB and Supercruisers as well. Verdict : AP shells falling from their air hit harder then any plane can..... 7 times harder potential even.

You can't reason with players that do not want to accept game mechanics Pikkozoikum. Only stock AA on all ships that explodes aproaching squadrons, or removeal of CV will do. And reasoning against CV hating CV players....some of them use CV+2 Friesland divisions ( probably Midway+Halland divisions now ) ...so you dont have to reason about AA power with them either...they know it and use it.

It is just a list op ships they don't like, not the ships that actually rule ranked. It will be easy to see on WR charts of ranked, but based on experience that will be many DD types and CQC types of both Cruisers and BB preferably torpedo carrying. Certainly not long range kiters or snipers that are USELESS in ranked. -

Randoms logic... Kiting ? In CQC combat around caps and islands ? Versus very few enemies that are actively using islands ? Points ticking away when you do not retake the caps when your DD got killed ?? With 7 players there is no endless amount of DD in reserve.....when they fail, YOU have to retake caps....and what are you going to do with long range sniper ships then ? ( i know that : you lose ) That is what makes Bronze league such a hell......randoms campers still think their logic works in ranked aswell.....and discover by throwing matches angering their team mates this is not working. -

Mushashi ?? Ranked ?? Some players still don't grasp that camping does not work versus 1) only 7 players 2) that probably not camp too 3) force CQC combat by capping in 4) smaller maps with lots of island cover. So all randoms wisdom reasoning does not apply here. None of the usual long range ( camper ) ships need be banned because they should not work in ranked. Mushahsi and Alsaska which is see often are not powerful ships in ranked. Only the radar of Alaska is notable. Once drawn closer because the cap counters force them to ( if they stay out camping they lose ) they can be torpedoed at will. Both do not have any advantage over German CQC BB and SuperCruiser either when fighting around caps. FDR is laughable...just race up to it with 1 DD and sink it......nothing it can do to stop that. Petropavlovsk ? Another ship that cannot use range in Ranked and has no advantage at closer ranges, especially not vs enemies with torpedo's. Conclusion : the presented ship list is based on randoms ( camping meta ) logic that does not apply to ranked. Any ban on them not justified by any real and existing reason. In ranked. This is what happens to Mushashi's in ranked : you can sometimes even toy with them.....Alaska's do not fare much better....certainly more dangerous with their radar, but can't shoot through islands either.....i dare say hydro is the more dangreous system to spoof fighting between islands. -
I read on a reply on NA forums it was removed because "it made diffcult to see which ammo was shot at you " but i never saw an offical reason when it suddenly was gone. I liked it the tricolore tracers very much... Can't it be returned in a less bright version ? Why does WG introduce such goodies only ot take them away again and in this case very quick as well ?

Like you say.....the enemy does not have to see them if it confuses him ( type ammo shot ) or messes with his immersion ( unrealistic ) The player that shoots them should have a choice to see them (again) ! -

Then why play randoms ???? Try to get to silver league+ if you didn't already. 7 vs 7 is another ball game entirely where campers fare very, very poor. That is why bronze league is a hell.....campers discover there their ususal tactics fail there. Get past that, and the game will be much better for you. -

Why the tirade Saltface ? Where you always paying when you were a novice player to the game ? And besides that, the game needs players that play for free too, to populate the servers. Else MM will let you wait for minutes. -

It is the original income model of the game. You are supposed the be "encouraged" to buy both premium perma-camo's and premium account if you play above tier VII or Tier VIII. If you dont want that, stay at tier VI-VIII. Eventually doing the daily missions and selecting more recources you can buy coal ships ( these have a perma camo ) for free and use them in Tier XI and X. -
Jeremus25 it's a good analyses and i would support what you think is a solution. I think any normal CV player agrees with you. If you should read NA forums you know all normal CV players feel the nerf had a lot of impact on their play. And soon Cruiser and BB players will feel it too.

Play another class ship if you get stuck. That is a serious remark. It works. If you later get stuck again, change again. It does not mean you cannot play your favorite ship type anymore . It is meant to get unstuck.

Maybe because some of these ship never get added to the armoury, are withdrawn from availability and only return once a year in "special offers" ( not discounts ) that can be attractive because the ship are rare in game due to limited availability. I guess that is the treatment for ships WG expects to be less popular, but are made to be attractive to having special features, being rare in game and being only limited available when you want them. It is a known sales tactic ofcourse : sold out = sold out ! Get it while you can ! -
Well WG might tune AA of some DD down no they don't need it anymore......they are herassing me on my way to attack other ships.... No that is only half-serious. The still get bombed by desperate CV players.

DD are celebrating too soon : before they know it they will be - all simultaneously - fighting submarines + DD + (radar)Cruisers + planes that can still hit them. 4 threats instead of 3....enjoy ! ( Besides WG wanting to protect the new Submarine baby that could be murdered with rocket planes also, it is very possible they thought fighting 4 efficient counter mechanisms for DD was a bit too much....)

1) This nerf is not meant to relief DD. ( submarines do not have as impressive AA suits as many DD do ) 2) The German AP rockets were already a failed mechanic to use when all players learned to angle against them. However they are well usable against large ship supertructures ( up to 10k strikes depending on tier is not a problem ) and camping Cruisers behind islands that can't angle or evade. But as you can see it has become sort of a reserve weapon of opportunity. 3) DD that are not capping should have learned to shut their AA off, only to be temporarily switched on to kill spotting fighters. Their vulnerability outside caps was really of their own doing. It is quite possible though that faced with fighting Submarines + DD + Cruisers in the front lines WG thinks it ihas become too much too deal with rocket fighters also. Then the nerf will be permanent and possibly a nerf culling HE bombers - or anything still effective vs DD - will follow then.

You are smart enough yourself - assessed from your earlier posts - to calculate the skill tree bonus effects yourself. How useful shaving off 10 % of torpedo reload time over 20 minutes will be for instance, or 5 % more torpedo speed. These are buffs that do not necessarily get you more kills, but would if you never miss and always would be in a favorable position to hit the right class of enemy. That then will not come steaming up to kill you.....well, it is possible in randoms. Anything goes there. The most important skills you already selected. To get the upper hand vs DD of your own type ROF and HP are important. Then it is only a matter of weighing you will run into DD of your own type often. Or if you really want ? torpedo salvo more in 20 minutes if you are confident you won't be intercepted and can repeatedly lauch at enemy Cruisers and BB. -

She has deep water torpedoes...did you aim them at DD or Cruisers ? It can't hit them.....then you don't get a green prediction path. DW torpedos hit capital ships only, although some can hit Cruisers also. But all pass under DD without hitting them.

Well i did, but then my favorite anti-DD CV are German : 50+ knot all purpose torpedoes and skip bombs. But somehow high profile players avoid these German CV like the plague.....wonder why....AP bombs too finicky for them ? AP rockets require too much skill to use ?

Uncalled for nerfs : is WG simply creating room for Submarines to fit in PvP ?

Nerfing secondary batteries to very low accuracy values that already were of questionable accuracy before that nerf. Nerfing rocket planes of all CV ( although some mildly and some severe ) so they are more or less forced to look to bigger targets like (Light) Cruisers for their rockets. Or battleships. ( fire damage ) They all affect DD in game that suddenly get much more freedom, but i don't think that the objective of the nerfings at all. My theory is these changes add up to wanting to create room for Submarines to be fit in to PvP modes ! Think of it...the latest verision of Submarines cannot dive for longer periods of time and are required to sail and fight on the surface just as DD are. Diving has become their version of DD popping smoke. But they are also more fragile then DD with lower HP pools and rather slow ( too fast compared to RL but in game still slow ) ....they will probabaly not be seen doing over 50 knots like some DD can.... Does WG want them shot with accurate Secondary Battery guns or Rocketted by CV planes ? No, that would make them nearly unplayble. My point is why can't WG not simply tell us - their customers - what they are doing ? Be honest about their roadmap and direction ? Now they are practically hitting players with nerfs they do not enjoy and don't understand why. I can understand WG making room for a new class, accepting a temporary balance shift : with a very important counter gone DD will become much more powerful and Cruisers ( now CV's farorite target ) and certainly BB ( many more DD will live to reach them now ) will suffer for it. These are not small consequenses. They however make perfect sense if WG is unsure how Submarines will fare in PvP once introduced. And once these are firmly settled, game balance ofcourse is "normalized" again although i doubt that will incoperate accurate secondaries and rockets..... And if this all prove to be what is actually happening.....aren't - specifially high speed gunboat - DD not very limiting factors for slow and fragile surfaced Submarines also as these are extremely adept at killing small targets fast just like rocket planes were ? New nerfs incoming that slaps them too ? What are your thoughts ? -
No it is just WG changes the game ( again) , you adapt.
