  1. I just see a decrease in low tier "skills" : they fail to go foreward.
  2. Designed for AA by WG : - Basic Fire Training - Advanced Fire Training - Massive AA Fire - Direction Centre for Fighters - Auxilery Armaments Modification 1 - AA guns Modifications 1 - Auxilary Armamants Modification 2 - Fighter consumbale - Defensive AA Fire consumable A player builds his skills and modules around dealing with the most dangerous enemies. If he does not take any AA skills, modules and consumables, that are obviously not CV......it either that or what the lettercode implies.
  3. Could just as well been directed at those that fail to deal with them, just ignoring all the skills and modules that were designed for it.
  4. 146 k credits ( after costs ) or only 74 K ( after costs when not having premium account ) is the most i got out of it without heavy use of ( +credit) signals, flags and camo's. ( risk of losing on high tier side of this mode is too great to waste full masts of flags on....) It is not really interesting reward wise. Maybe WG does that because it showers us with signals, flags and camos atm and naturally assumes we use them.
  5. Weekend warriors did what nothing else could : camp the high tiers into victory. The low tiers did not even cross half the map. Surest way into a defeat when you are numerical superior, yet it is happening now. Sooo....time to switch side methinks. Btw : did you guys notice bot CV are just COOP/Operations CV that rarely attack enemy ships ? They just uselessly overfly enemy ships making for excellent AA practise drones, but doing absolutely NOTHING for their side. You are much better off with bots in different ships even though tese are almost useless too. Edit : when the CV is not a bot ( and has no bot team mates to be fair )
  6. Negelecting combined fleet AA dps is too.....yet everyone does it and it is advocated here by dubious agenda CV players as well. Maybe we see some changes with the great captain skill feather ruffling as fire chance decreases and some previously popular options are not for all classes. At the same time they split up AA skills from secondary battery ones, not exactly encouraging to take them as they were neglected already when it was 2 for the price of 1.
  7. I do too...an opportunity to get rusting ships in port moving again...and have fun. And there are lessons to be learned for sure....low tier ships can pack amazing power easily sinking anything. No one should take Fuso and Kongo class AP shells lightly either i noticed, as they are fast enough to flank. Agree completely.

Class based commander skills for cruisers

This is true....it's not the player base that invented long range fire thrower camping......or release ships that excell in it, and not on accident or anything. What will these ships be good for now ?
  9. More like controlling a salvo of shells ( that are bombs visualy ) or torpedo's even......that is probably how WG sees them game mechanic wise.

Class based commander skills for cruisers

Reading through LWM detailed preview* of changed captain skills on NA forums it becomes clear WG wants cruisers to : 1) depend less on fire chance which is nerfed. 2) fight closer range. = use AP and torpedoes more which are buffed At the same time you see high tier BB secondaries considerably nerfed in accuracy ( from 60 % to 35 % ) the most important secondary damage stat. Probably to prevent them tearing apart Cruisers and DD that are now encouraged to fight closer. Back to basics ( low tier tactics ) it seems..... * https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/225717-mouses-take-on-the-proposed-skill-changes/
  11. Ever played Operation Newport ? Human players are guarantee for nothing. First requirement is human players that want to put effort in cooperating in focussing fire ( the way to kill incoming masses ) and preferable sailing in close formation instead of deviding themselves to be picked off. Since just a collection of human players will not naturally do that they will fail time and again. Just as they do in Operation Newport, against incoming low tier bots. Unless there are multiple players among them that do know how things work.....also just like in Operation Newport when it is won with 5 stars.
  12. I am all for air supriority fighters but not with the horrible inbalanced (air) strafing sweep mechanics they once had. And there should be proper reward for killing aircraft then.....as you cannot kill ships and kill aircraft at the same time and something needs to enable you to top the score list just as well as any other class. As a side note : most of the bombers that are not too fast to be overtaken by fighters already seem to be packing defensive armaments. Maybe because some are older models. But still.....DD did pack detailed DC racks and launchers and that became live too....
  13. When you freed up a high tier ship it stays available without further tokens...so the players just need to unlcock some ships to get going asif tokens were not there. Fact is that is not really what is happening. Yet.... Besides that, winning on the high tier takes cooperation ( the same way Operation Newport does, practically the same situation for the high tiers in most maps ) meaning that will probably never work really well for the masses of random strangers. But a core of players may evolve that do get the hang of it. Newport is perfectly winnable as well....but not for the masses.
  14. Any other words/reactions in your vocabulary ? That would be shocking !
  15. It's only bad when the enemy does that you know.....

    It does...

    Asymetric battles

They probably synch dropped and since few players want to be in high tier ( appalling rewards, high loss chance ) and it is usualy filled with bots they succeeded. Question is will they do it again when they found out about the "rich rewards" for winning that
  18. The thing is players want CV spotting so they rack up high AP damage numbers on an enemy broadside traveling Cruisers right after match start. They don't want to wait for minutes untill an allied DD can do that, and by the time it does only spots an enemy Cruiser that has reached i'ts island hugging ( now immune to being insta-blapped ) or DD ambushing ( allied DD dies and spotting goes black ) position. Players want CV to spot enemy DD so they can be destroyed quickly before they spot for the enemy team and by that sink half the allied fleet. And because many players are at the same time they want CV spotting nerfed. And then they complain why spotting is delayed so they cannot fire for minutes and are in the dark how the enemy deploys. A good indication to what happens when CV do not spot is German AP fighters played to their strenghts : many do not engage DD with them and the result is often a loss and reports for not Search&Destroy the enemy DD. Because many players also have no clue how to fight an enemy DD when a CV does not do it and allied DD explode in caps as usual. They type "gg" then and consider it a loss......for the clueless in powerless anti-fire builds they are. Not all players though......but specialized RDF guided Radar/Long range Hydro carrying DD's and Cruisers that blitz enemy DD before they know they are dead, and who don't need CV spotting to destroy enemy DD are scarce indeed. WG does apparently not listen to such players that do not know what they really want and that is supposedly a good thing.

    Skip bombers...

In the video you could see all the surfaces ( in green ) where the bombs will bounce the water. When you aim the enemy ship being in such a bounce area the bomb will hit somewhere against or very near the ship. Maybe the bombs are heavy enough that is all accuracy you need/ WG wants you to have.

    Skip bombers...

And horizontally dropped carpet bombs come at you at ? speed ? So this is a crossing between torpedo mechanics and bomb mechanics ...still so what ? It's just another flavor in delivering munitions.
  21. Beastofwar

    Skip bombers...

Then i see no problem hitting ships in the side with skip bombing either, as these skip bombs travel in a straight line toward a target covering a set distance just the same as torpedo's would. And these bombs won't hop over islands and still need a distance of delivering planes flying low so cannot just be tossed between a minumum water surface between island and ship where torpedo's would fail. Only difference is where the ship will be hit : probably on the armoured belt.

    Skip bombers...

Pssst....the E Lowenhardt has 6 km torpedoes.....at tier 6, where 3,5 - 5,8 km is the most common range for all ships AA except for 1. ( Dunkerque = 6 km ) Not a soul complained about this yet......and probably will never as it is a non-issue that is only overpowered between the ears of very specific " I want the whole game to be like tier III" activists.
  23. Beastofwar

    Skip bombers...

We already have AP rockets for that......the one target type that awards more useful damage from AP penetrations then throwing a stone at it.

    Which Ships should i get?

What is your favorite nation and class ? = that ship. I once out of nothing exploded in a Yoshino upon being detected by the first recon flight of the enemy CV, so under 2 munites in the game. Even faster then any clueless cap exploding DD. Cause ? A Shikshima salvo..... But one thing remains true : the larger or more numerous guns get, the more inaccurate WG will make them.....or the ship will be insanely overpowered. So seemingly very attractive ships with very large or many large guns probably give you much frustration in hitting with only 1 shell of any salvo at best. And only sometimes ( RNG ) oblittering a target like they should.
