Limited vision usually only irritates players even more, since they will have to hold fire untill they can see. Regardless of much valued covert tactical movements that require the rarest thing : patience. ( and not scoring for minutes...) It could be to teach the triggerhappy mewlers to appriciate fast spotting instead of mewling they want it removed. No vision, no shooting...no scoring. Sure DD can spot too, and much more consistent/continuous as well...but they are minutes slower at it and much more hampered by visual imparing weather effects......since they have the spotting distance as far as a mouse can see.....and ~140 knots less speed. -
You guys do know that shipwreck looters left most of the sunken Dutch warships in Asia alone right ? Why ? Because they were so poor armoured that what remains now is too thin to be interesting to scavenge. De Ruyter did get cut up though.

Not really......if they turn into torpedo's you sandwich them between the torps with the 1st drop so they can''t turn and then crossdrop them with the 2nd drop. If it is dive bombs they often help you by turning and ending up not being straight in the reticule, helping the CV as bombs tend to drop toward the outer edges of the reticule. And HE rockets.....they are angle indifferent. The only bothersome planes are the AP rocket fighters. Enemies turning away from the plane AP broadside often expose themselves to allied AP broadside so the only result is they die notheless but someone else gets the kill..... -
You know when i do not check the trajectory of perfectly aimed torpedo's by not looking back of pressing F and already launching the next squadron when torpedo's still travel they always miss ?? And when i do look back from my bombers of not press F when they detached from camera and that hovers near the enemy ship so i can see where the topredo's hit they always do hit as expected..... That ocurred so often, i made it a habit of always checking where torpedo's that should hit are going. Even if i could have more damage immidiatly launching from CV again when torpedo's are still in the water. It is irrational but i feel the game "cheats" you out of scoring sometimes when you have no direct visual on what is happening. Asif it is a counter measure against damage-racing....

I have seen this too now and then.... It looks like the shells fall short for no reason but there are no water splashes indicating that they do. The shells simply disappear. It does not happen often and when it does a next salvo often is not affected making it an annoying but small probem.

There is a topic ongoing on NA forums where many forummers express their disliking of raging CC's that mewl about CV and share more balanced but less known CC's that are actually helpfull. It is easy to see the most logic reasons why drama lama CC dislike CV : they simply mess up their program. CV kill noob or pro indiscriminanetly. It makes them look bad..... -

Mutsu was my first premium ship and most powerful ship for years through the low tiers, wich was painfully slow as i go through them paralel over all nations and classes. -
But IRL warships were not inoperable for combat untill the last armoured turret was destroyed or all power went out which would not happen unless it was flooding. None of that was affected by all superstructure including casemates, bows and sterns being destroyed. Or on fire.... That is why nearly every heavy armoured turret has it's own stereoscopic range finder ( the "ears" on the turrets ) so as long as they got power they could keep operating. Even if nothing of the superstructure remained. When you look in detail even many of the DD guns turrets have a hatch ( some protected by a shelter some not ) with a crosshair as rundementary aiming device....... The ships citadel, magazines, engine rooms and complete turret installations from bottom to top should be unaffected by fire even if the whole ship is ablaze. They are heavy armoured seperate from the rest of the ship by armoured hatches and have their own ventilation and such. But you are right......this is aracade....too much realism would make BB incredibly powerful......real cruisers would run or remain well out of shooting range of enemy BB's.....

Be happy you get time to think/ reduction in price on that later......and meanwhle play a Nurnberg to get used to how fragile it is.......

It is rediculous enough you can burn warships to the waterline ( reduce HP to 0 ) with fire in their superstructure, casemate, bow and sterns. HE explosions would not cause damage to heavy armoured sections, the floating fortress know as citadel ( which even has positive boyancy without stern or bow ) ........But a ship without superstructure is a ship crippled with enormous death toll and many disrupted primary systems..... Examples enough of warships remaining in action with their complete superstructure blown away though. That is why almost all turrets have their own backup fire control/aiming devices. Beautifully modelled in great detail in this game's ships as well. And intact armoured citadel ofcourse........it took scuttling or heavy torpedoing to make those ships go down.

By Neptune !!!! I witnessed better play at tier III-IV that i recently re-entered because of the Epoch campaign then at Tier X ranked !!!!! Camping, rushing caps in DD, blocking field of fire with islands, toxic rants and more........i haven't seen any CV to be effective up to this moment either. To me is clear the worst kind of players have long cleared low tiers and colletively are to be found at Tier X since they are stuck there. Suddenly playing tier III-IV isn't all that punitive anymore.... If there was a time you could look down on lower tiers having lower skills at the game......long gone. Tier X is full of total nbs.

When DD players exhibit the same "tactics" as in randoms it certainly is......the mention of radar, hydro and rocket planes makes me wonder about that.......that happens mainly in caps.....and why should a DD be in a cap to be subject of all these anti-DD mechanisms ? DD can only do that when their concealment is NOT taken away.......or else be formless spotting all enemies they can somewhere else and launching torpedo's at the big ones... -

Ego check....felt very important and thought they were in a position to pressure WG to change the game to their liking....... Well WG is generous to allow exchanging 2 BB for the place of 1 CV......someone that complains after that advantage looks rediculous. -

So you can imgagine what would happen if all these anti-DD mechanics were not in place to keep them in check right....... They are all there for a reason. Note that most of the anti-DD mechanisms center around killing DD in caps.......Radar, Hydro, Rocket planes.....they are all lurking just ouside or over the cap and expecting you to be inside or close to a cap. Why the hell should you be there in the first place ?? All ships can cap.....DD rushing to caps = chickens without a head play. Is it not obvious by your list CAPS ARE THE LAST PLACE YOU SHOULD BE IN ??? With many type DD you can also remain extremely stealthy and slip through larger gaps in the enemies line. AVOID all contact or even going near them. And then when you can torpedo the camping BB in the back, then you can score.....and score HIGH. That is what real DD do, use torpedo's, the heaviest weapon in game !! What came up with the idea all type DD should rush caps ???? Maybe that worked in tier III.... -
It has the size and turn radius of a BB but not the armour or guns of a BB......if it is that excellent i still have to find that way to use it. Which is very possible ofc.

I was stupid enough to reset 5 lines......so 5 less Tier X ships which were all tech tree Tier X i had, and since they were CV and DD, the best as well...... What i have left ( coal ships, freemiums ) does not bode well for the very first matches.....not falling...not advancing either.

The new campaign lets you rebuy low tier ships and play them. After you have been up to tier X the ships feel primitive, weak and fragile. But they also make curious what they are about with guns still in wooden ship broadside positions. Other ships in their tier are too so relative to that they are not weak. So great opportunity to relearn a few things long lost, and maybe even play higher tiers ships better. And to keep these fragile HP ships afloat is not easier task then it is at Tier X. But... Meanwhile you are not contributing to daily tasks ! Anything with rewards starts at tier V ! Why is that ??? Like this i hate playing at below tier V and consider it a waste of time ( it is when you consider the time spent and the tasks you could have done in that time ) while i could be enjoying it even in random matches. That said, now i am even more convinced there should be low tier operations to make these ships far more enjoyable. But the daily task contribution needs to sink to tier 1. XP and damage wise low tier ships already contribute less......why would it be a problem to remove the tier V condition ?

Maybe ships with low fire chance per shell is an indication you should fire AP more or in case of DD use your torpedo's more. It is interesting with the captain point changes fire chance ( of DE skill ) will be lowered from 2 % to a mere 0,5 %. So when you are reluctant to fire AP with shells with low fire chance shells now you will probably switch over then.

I like playing all classes of this game. CV are among them, but not more then 25 % of all play time. So i am not even an CV main. I would be just as happy if there were entertaining scripted Operations/Scenario's for all tiers. This would make the game score 10/10 for me. Now with the horrid randoms that you cannot get around when you want to progress it's a 6/10. Redeeming factor is fun modes outside randoms and COOP. -

That is because on anyone not El2aZeR and a handful of similar players ( = 98 % of the player base ) FLAK still works pretty well.......that is why what he says is always irrelevant. Most players do fly through FLAK, so that mechanic then works as intended. That said there isn't a lot of FLAK at tier IV yet. -
I merely wanted to note these light Cruisers would likely have the fragileness of the ship we now know in game as Munchen. I saw one blow up in Narai that only had to engage a DD and a fort to kill the TP which is was tasked to do ....very fragile indeed and not the extreme ROF some also fragile ships have to make up for it.

The fact they looked like Graf Spee does not mean they were anywhere near that quaility. It is nothing new the Dutch turned every dime when contructing these ships, which were dangerously under amroured and armed. It could be they were never supposed to fight ( NL expecting to remain neutral like in WWI ) at all. That said the "admiral" in charge of the fatal Cruiser to Cruiser flotilla Java sea battle must have been very brave taking on such superior ( Japanese ) ships. They do look German......in fact they could be a poor man's "Munchen" in game.

If i were a deep fake WR player, bragging and boasting on base of WR, belittelling everyone that has real stats and being a toxic ......this is what i would do all day long. So i guess that is one of the real problems of the "CV scourge" = deep fake WR players clubbing newbees. Ok credits are really poor compared to higher tiers so i probably still would not do that..... Only for the new Epoch campaign and RB line resets, which does funny enough synergyze well. So i would be MUCH happier if i could do this in Operations for all tiers. Only bots would suffer.
