With torpedo acceleration - even on those CV that "don't need it" - damage went up. Is is obvious that launching torpedo's that chase ships will catch them sooner limiting the time they have to get out of the way. This makes for a damage increase since you have more viable angles on evading ships that get less succesfull at dodging. Since i took that skill damage went up....and this is only a T6 ( in a T8 match...) ....could have been (much) higher if the score counter didn't end the match.

But....but...but... Smolensk is a tier X ship and is in ranked too......is it forgotten ? Is it not used anymore ? And then Hakuryu.....Where are the daily whines and moans about that ? It is really the ships that kills you of the day that is the subject of whines and moans it seems. And since that spans CV, Cruiser and BB now WG can spare themselves removing a whole class of ships from the game Btw : i shoot AP mainy with that thing, despite the pleasant high fire chance......large guns are to be used for overmatching purposes as good AP hits hit harder then any uncertain lenght fire or much smaller HE explosion damage. -
That sure is significant....didn't notice it yet. But it confirms my experiences full researched tech tree ships are often stronger then premiums.

Yep...could hit you 1- 3 days later....all depends how busy the employees handling that are or so i noticed. I can imagine thye are quite busy with ranked right now.....CV. Smolenks, Thunderers, whatnot....lot so things to complain about for sore losers and WR crazed players that can't handle defeats.

Only the IJN and tech tree German CV have fast enough torpedo's to prevent a lot of reaction time on actual torpedo's course in the water. But they can never be fast enough, i now have a standard build giving all CV captains the + torp speed skill and the + torp speed module. EL's and GZ's torpedo's are slow, US torpedo's are slow and UK CV torpedo's too. They most need it to get decent speed torpedo's that are harder to dodge, for the other CV's it is more for pure fun. I never used long torpedo launches even when Hakuryu had the option as you want to practically shove them into a ship's hull anyway. A CV is not a DD....The arming distance may increase but the speed overtaking ships on some courses faster is more important. A lot of ships can outrun the slowest torpedo's without skill or module. With some distance to target it is even certain they will miss. I have only recently changed builds and was doing fine with stock speed torpedo's too as you get used to it and change you drop accordingly*.......but you still miss a lot more due to dodging with the slowest torpedo's. Ships have more reaction time if a torpedo creeps toward then then when it blitzes toward them. 60 knots = 110 km/h = submerged missile.....dodge this... * Slow torpedo's can be used to "lock" a ship between torpedo's when it evaded facing your bombers with bow or stern, and then cross dropping the ship when it cannot turn left or right. With faster torpedo's that is more difficult as they will lock the ship in course for a shorter time. Every upside has a downside...

Wichita is close to Anchorage......without smoke, with radar.... it is high in WR kist od stats sites. Not sure why you would buy Wichita if you have a Tech Tree Baltimore though. Oddball seems Cheshire. For some reason it is my best T8 while stats sites indicate overall it is mediocre.

That maybe not the weirdest thing to say.....a smoke spamming 203 mm Cruiser is actually not that bad. And you can still play it asif it does not have smoke. The only thing it does not have is radar. So support Cruiser. Not a hunter-killer.

With over 180 ships in my port i can't remember what ship has what armour in battle. The general rule to angle against AP is good for all ofcourse, but i noticed there are pretty big differences in ship that can show broadside to some ships and get way with it, and with that can unmask all their guns. It would be helpful if there were to be 1) a button showing armour in the match itself 2) a button showing damage ( in color ) to your ship. Right now it is difficult to see in a glance - in colours - which modules you lost aswell. The only thing you can see is blackened saturaed damagae area's. Not easily being able to see what is busted ( unless for mods ) is for a great part responsible to the myth "AA does not work" i think : busted AA modules ofcourse never work. But you won't know that if you cannot see it in a glance, in colours. I don't think even busted torpedo tubes are really easy to see when they are crossed out. Maybe i just need glasses though.....

Bayard are old stats i think....before the IFHE rework it produced very high numbers. Now with it's fire chance halved but its ROF and caliber needing IFHE it scores lower. Without IFHE too, because with high ROF ships damage suffers when most shells shatter that could have produced ~ 1000 dmg per hit. LWM says 130 mm at tier X IFHE is not recommended.....it is plain wrong as Smolenks has a insane high ROF that will produce only shatters and a fire now and then. My damage soared up when i clapped IFHE on it as i saw of 600 fired shells 400+ were shatters for 0 damage and 8 fires. With it some 500 out of 700 did damage and there were 4 fires. But she says 152-155 mm should take IFHE anyway so that includes Bayard. Reason is low caliber means machinegun your guns.....an lots of shatters hurt damage. An thus halves fire chance with IFHE or lets most of your shells shatter without IFHE.

A few of the above guys mistake the suggested button for a bad form of armour camo/skin......that is not the case. And even so if it is your own armour there is nothing cheating about it. Just a button - when you release it it's back to normal view - to show the current state of YOUR OWN ship to be in including they lay and colour coded armour plating. Info you can get now too but with mods or in port. As with 180+ ships it becomes harder to differentiate what is what. At least for regular players. I wasn't referring to clan player who play only the top OP ships so it is easy to remember their features.

Fire nerfs are incoming with the captain skill rework....but it won't save you when you run into a wall of enemies that all focus you with HE. That is the problem of Random matches : the first that pops into view gets it from most of 12 enemies ... In other modes fire mechanic is not that broken at all. It just the masses of randoms that makes for unsurvivable fire spams when you are ahead of the rest. And actually no build can withstand it when focussed by multiple enemies.

Just happy there is one more class i begin to understand. For me Cruisers are the hardest class to master despite all the anti-DD mechanics that DD have to deal with. There is often no hidiing with Cruisers ( when you fire guns ) while they are fragile.... DD have invisibility CV have unlimited range BB have long range and heavy armour Cruisers.....pinata's lol -
I have not moved form rank 15 ( briefly into 14 and back ) having only the coal ships and fremiums left after a RB reset. 4 Cruisers and one BB. But the point is i performed better then ever with these with consistent 120K+ damage and at least 1 sunk enemy per match. ( if every ally does that you win.....) Even in CV and DD which are my ( now reset ) favorite classes i cannot get that as consistent as now. So not getting anywhere feels very strange. It seems Cruisers are a true support class and cannot do a whole lot if other classes fail to do their thing. Which CV and DD are less affected by or so it seems....

They are the same thing..... DE from 2 % to 0.5 % Since large BB HE shells already have the highest fire chance that don't even need a pityful 2 % let alone 0.5 % buff this means the smaller shells ( with 9 % or so fire chance ) are considerably nerfed with a buff no larger then ending up from 9 % to 9,5 %. This with a ( BB) skill that buffs fire prevention by 10 %..... And new : Cruisers cannot have that fire prevention 10 % skill.......Supercruisers with the size of BB neither.....

There is a skill called priority target. ( showing how many enemy ships point guns at you ) When you actually use that will be your best fire prevention skill. In other words.....don't be the focus of half the enemy fleet and you will not go down in uncontrollable flames. Wether or not that is interesting play is another matter. It is the way of random matches. In modes with fewer players you can be much more agressive.

Duelled a Kremlin to the death.....not cowarldy sitting in smoke but rushing him bow on since i was the last one alive and losing. He thought he could survive backing up shooting me with his main guns. You can see him exploding of a torpedo in the back ground. It must be the fist time i launched one offensively with a Smolensk. He only got to really get shells in when i exposed side to launch torpedo's.... Weren't Smolensks supposed to be fragile ? Btw i noticed this is a real IFHE boat.....without it 3/4 shells just shatter and fire alone doesn't make up for it. -

The higher horse the clan, the less amicable and relaxed the players are......they have ego/reputation to lose......nothing new. Good ram, good choice in naval tradition. -
If you cannot bear to play a task or objective without getting bored it is simply not important enough. It is life time you are spending there, you never get that back....it has got to be worth it. Speaking for myself there are a lot of "rewards" that now bob in port unused or are in the ships but see no special action compared to other captains. AND i have about 180 ships wich must not be the largest collection players have but it is already so many that a lot of those ships don't see action in months or years unless to knock off a "snowflake". I have reset 5 lines for the RB points and i don't even recongnise the lower tier ships exteriors anymore i once played. Unused ships or ships you don't even recognise ( or can't recall their exact strong points and weak points and have to experience that all over again each match ) means these ships were not worth the time, money or ingame currency they have cost. Putting in a lot of effort to get a reward is purely the psycholgy of fearing you miss out on something. I still hate missing the Benham for example because i was on a vacation. But when i would have it, how much action would it really get among 180 other ships ? I had quite the collection of planes in WT too.....but at some point the drag of getting more and more was too much. They never really changed the maps/targets/mode either and just kept adding more and more vehicles.

Finally getting the hang of ( tier X ) Cruisers with damage well above 100K.......i can even get 1st position in them.....which is new.
