    I doubt it very much too. 1) When i want to save my star reliably i take a DD...... 2) I nearly always see BB in top scoring position, WG's largest customer group. Second most likely class is DD in that position. 3) The only CV i think is at positon 1 scoreboard too much in T8 ranked is Enterprise......so WG should rebalance that thing and not nerf every other CV. 4) Are they going to nerf Massachussets too then ??

    overmatch, ricochet and shell velocity

    No such realism in game......it already begins with plating thickness balanced by tier and not by realism......so standard game balance driven penetration rules match that as a key to a lock. There are already some exceptions. But i think it is unlikely it will be made more complex.

    A lot of the ships ARE balanced right, but just don't play like players want them to play. You can see that in CC's branding ships "trash" because it doesn't fit their preferred play style, or how they think that class/ships should play. When judging a ship you should go over all it's variables. In case of DD if their torpedo range is low it probably a compensation for something else like speed, gun penetration or range, concealmenet, greater HP, stronger AA and such. German DD guns have a lot of penetration as have all German guns......32 mm on the 128 mm guns and 38 mm on the150 mm guns.......they can punch through many Cruiser and even many tier BB decks/bows/stern/casemates with ease without IFHE ( and their fire chance is lowered because of it too )......this *could* have something to do with their torpedo range lowered as WG balances things out. Same goes for the other ships.....look at hem as WG does and go over all their attributes. French DD for example can murder both DD and Cruisers with their guns while they drive by at rediculous speeds and have gotten damage migation no other ship has to help deal with return fire. That however requires tactics changed from normal DD operation that should not use guns that much. But that is what that sub class does....playing them as normal DD one does not understand their setup and they will never function like you want them to. I don't have Zao myself yet but i'm sure something can be found that explains why it is like it currently is.

    I do as player of all classes.....you simply get to use both BB and CV functionalities in one ship, and get choose which to use in which situation. It won't be overpowered as no hybrid ever is as it misses half it's potential of a full class. But it is refreshing and challenging to use, and will in specific situations offer opportunities full classes dont have. That damned cruiser hiding from your BB/Cruiser shells behind that rock ? Nothing to do about it with a full clas BB/Cruiser as you will be focussed when charging or flanking it, but hope for allies to do something about it. But with a hybrid you can take off and bomb or torpedo that enemy out of his hiding place.....switching back to BB/Cruiser main guns when it did came out of it's hiding place.... Btw : i do think the solution for Cruisers/BB to have DC armed catapult (recon) planes is very elegant. Most of them have recon catapult planes already and although most could not carry actual DC it is but a minor historic inaccuracy for game balance sake. I was fearing we would get fantasy DC racks and launchers on BB......

Anything that can AP citadel the bots in their flanks in the gaps between the islands and kill them very fast, and then relocate fast enough to the next spawn to be in position ( using the gaps between islands ) to do it again. This can be DD, Cruisers and even (fast) BB. And when things go wrong - sometimes happens - these ships must be fast enough to get an island in between them and the bots. Slow BB are unsuitable for that tactic. Obviously i am focussing on sinking bot Cruisers and BB from their vulnerable flanks and citadels......so often there will be bot DD slipping by. So there is always a need for players do defend from the bay itself or it won't work. But bot DD can be frontally clapped by HE always contrary to bot Cruisers or BB that may/will take too long to sink from that...... The mode does need team work to complete it with maximum stars. I don't know of any unsuitable class or ship.....their tactic using their strenghts however will differ.

    Defense of naval station New Port is Broken

    Did you know this Operation is described as "normal difficulty" ? So when you fail that you need to start wondering why...... To be fair : shooting the incoming bow facing bot ships from the bay head on with HE or guns under 381 mm AP is NOT the way to do it, as you need to kill them FAST. And stay alive.....for that the creator of the game peppered oceans with islands from which you can pop up in the bots side before they can turn guns on you , and AP citadel them each salvo killing them lightning fast. Even with the tiniest DD gun. Or torpedo them. Watch for bot counter torpedo's ofc, bots will ALWAYS lauch when they see you. After each wave is destroyed a new wave spawns, so have an island between you and the next spawning wave. Or the bots sumary execute you. When you can AP citadel bots and stay alive you have all but won. Go back to repair at the merchant ships when you need to. The last stage is best received inside the bay. Islands = your friend here. Bots will kill the lowest HP or closest ship they see. You cannot escape them as long as they see you and since they chase you at flank speed you won't survive. So don't let them see you unless you kil them (almost) instantly. Use islands to do this...these bot enemies arent humans, they can't figure out what you are doing going around an islands to flank them.....
  8. Often enough it is not you winning but the other side losing...... Look at : my ultra low inflicted damage the map situation ( i capped D and then B, allies C and the enemy....nothing all match long ) my score board position
  9. I am part of the playerbase too....and i have hidden stats = noob. And i did it in a DD ( that needed it "snowflake" knocked off ) that many say you should not bring. I guess anyone looking at the citadels know what i was doing, and that was not bobbing in the bay.... Go figure. But ofcourse i did not do it alone but with a collection of perfect random players. That do not all suck either.

Being burned down and killed by a forum member was worth it in this case :-) I wanted to shoot him but there was a CV driving by right behind him.....broadside like a pinata ....that already lost 30 planes attacking me so i had to shoot that instead. CV attacks which in this case was favorable too : the autobot task required lots plane kills and was completed......got 12 chests in one go completing that Transformer mission line

    I do not understand why WG lets players that were destroyed still chat, unless it is to division mates......the dead should be silent...they failed...their influnence ended......so shut up and certainly not tell others what to do in that position.
  12. Yet according to the WG wiki Georgia has exactly the same stat secondaries......and much better main guns. And that one can be for "free" or in other words coal.

    Why is this always about team mates with low WR ? Your enemies have likewise low WR when the playerbase would be so poor.....so they should be more easily defeated when YOU have skills.....so your WR would rise facing low quality players and not fall if you were that talented. No reason to complain at all.
  14. Yeah the more ships you get the more flags were ever mounted but not used and lingering somewhere.....i am often surprised to see a mast full of them on some ship i forgot about too.

    First high tier coal ship recommendation?

    In previous ranked sprint i did very different things with it......it involved speeding around islands popping up broadside to oblivious enemies. What the torpedo's did not sink, the close range AP broadsides did....even the secondaries chip in some fires. It will not do that in randoms.....but those are boring long range spamfest per definition. There it also fits perfectly as a boring unremarkable spammer.

    But Yoshino has 20 km torpedo's too, 4 x 4 = salvo of 8 heavies at 21k dmg per torp......62 knots and they can even be faster ( max 70 knots = 130 km/h ! )

  18. Any mode ? Some ships that are strong in PvP because of consumables as radar and smoke but pay for that by not having torpedo's like Belfast are not equally strong in every mode.
  19. What can one say about it ? It is relatively rare you are put in a random team with competent players that achieve a 5 star there. But still that happens too..... There isn't 1 way to go about it either so ""don't go out of the bay" = nonsense. The team needs to kill fast enough and stay alive. Some fail at killing speed, some at staying alive, and some at both.

    Coop games are "almost unplayable

    For those that like to ENJOY coop being able to do many mission task in coop is a double edged sword : yes you can do these tasks in coop too which is pleasant, but the downside is everyone and their mother will come to coop for easy/fast completion of these tasks as well. Racing you for the kills, torpedo hits, citadel hits, potential damage, secondary hits or whatever the tasks is. I do this too, since citadel hits in for example Operations rarely count for mission tasks. Which i regret as i like Operations much better then coop, although both being bot modes. The rewards for operations are much higher too. And ofcourse now the influx of everyone and their mother that wants to "knock the snowflakes" of hundreds of ships......which i do as well. So for those guys that like to ENJOY coop gameplay will only improve after next patch i'm affraid. Maybe have a try at Operations ?

    Torpedo acceleration on CVs?

    I went without that skill for as long as the rework was launched, only testing it from time to time and not being convinced it did something useful......but that was with side aproaching only, which i was stuck in for a very long time. If the ship evaded i made it a cross drop and that was about it as most ships would evade torpedo's chasing them anyway so i dodn't even attempt that any more. That has now changed for me. And because it makes launching torpedo's at sterns of ships moving away more viable, it increases damage as otherwise that would have been a failed pass having to line up again losing planes to continuous AA all that time. And despite longer arming distance.....when you get the chance to drop torpedo's in front of a ship moving toward you and estimate the arming distance right ( he moves toward you at ~ 30 knots so the arming distance indicator does not work correct ) he doesn't have any reaction time anymore. Especially the ~ 60 knot torpedo's are like missiles then. But it isn't always needed

    Cyber tokens?

    I was not a huge fan of non-real life looking captains but i started to use them anyway for amusement. And i must say......i got Rumble out of the free missions and his reports and mockery are downright funny. As is the Transformers music that seems to be playing instead of the normal music that fits the comments made and battle sounds perfectly. I got bumblebee too but havent used him yet. The earlier Nelson anime figure is one of my favorites, never would have imagined that. The high pitched screams/purrs when you fire a salvo is comical and satisfying at the same time. And while i do not understand Japanese i hear in the tone the anime girls mock and laugh about the fate of enemies being destroyed.....this i like very much too. I understand RL captains would not cheer too loud when a ship with 1000+ humans explodes. It would not be fitting if they would mock or laugh even though no humans are on the ships in game. So it may be duality but i like the anime and fantasy captains being able to do what would be unfitting of a real life looking captain : cheer, mock, laugh and insult sinking enemies.

    Torpedo acceleration on CVs?

    Imagine that.....then it was just me getting used to more unconventional torpedo angles making use of that speed because now suddenly more CV actually have faster torpedo's. But that also means they can be even faster ! Above 100 km/h fast......just used that on Pasival, 60 knots/110 km/h a sort submerged Tiny Tim's.....it was hilarious.

    Finally!! The truth about this broken BB

    Wandering souls that do not understand the secret of the riddle of IFHE....and choosing the right targets for your now 27 mm of penetration combined with extreme range and high ROF. Hosing BB is really not the best way for that ship.....why do that if it can rip apart almost all other classes ? Or is it when a ship stops being a threat to BB the whining and moaning stops ? That would indicate a few things... Btw small OT....what the hell is this ? Only a name ?
