- How does 10 % fire prevention protect you from 40+ % fire chance shells ? Even 63 % fire chance..... - Why do you need to protect from 4 fires when you can only be shot from the front ? ( hitting the bow and front superstructure is most likley, the rest is behind that and should not be possible to hit unless flanked = player error. - How much do you have to fear from 9+2= 11 % fire chance shell DD that might flank you in setting 4 fires ? - Why do you need to protect from 4 fires if you are not going to YOLO into a wall of enemies ? - Even with 3 fires YOLOing into a wall of enemies will kill you......so what is the use of pretecting against that ? Because i question this, and rarely burn down from 4 fires while not having any fire preventio an all but the 2nd module, and i torch BB myself all the time with English carpet bombers i fail to put much worth into fire prevention. I have been ""stupid" enough to reskill my BB captain into having fire prevention.....but i still burn ofc.....never 3 or 4 fires though, but that was the same without the skill.....so i thinking about removing it again. I want my secondaries to shoot Cruisers again. Secondaries on BB are different because most BB have masses of them and even in useful Cruiser calibers sometimes.....if they can actually penetrate ( and/or set fires ) and have range they can hurt. Even though accuracy will always let you down when not Massa/GZ/EL

That was an interesting read throught the topic, many ship that were once wished for are in game now..... I understood the Royal Oak to be of the in game missing The Revenge class, sometimes referred to as the Royal Sovereign class or the R class In 1940 Is it me or are the turrets/ship somewhat Japanese looking ? Knowing that the Japanese heavily copied British stuff and all. Even the Soviets used one......strange that this didn't cause WG to go for it already.....

I did report it. To WG, to your collegues. But not all match rigging is illegal. Divisioning is a perfect tool for shutting the enemy CV down with the strongest AA ships a tier above the friendly CV ( as you can plan on a lower tier rival CV to be there that can be hurt a lot by highter tier AA and specialized AA strong ships ) while letting the own side CV reign free. This ofcourse upsets balance so much you get an almost guaranteed win. It is pre planned, it is abusive to all other players. But not illegal. What is so offensive about it is you preach "AA is useless" but act completely opposite yourself. Why may this not be said ? I will leave it at that. There is a screenshot of it ofcourse but due to naming and shaming policy that screenshot can not be displayed. Again. It still does circulate in the depths of the forums. It is there that i found it back. -
I was shelling camper tanks behind rocks and buildings back then....even moving targets.......with ever larger howitzers. Right up until WG gave in to the whiners and nerfed the hell out of artillery and made it unplayable. It seems history has a way of repeating itself.......

Why do expensive Camo's seem to give you less buffs value?

You know you can shut off that appearance and make those camo's show the generic perma camo one right ? 1) NEVER IN MY LIFE would i use that !!! Pigmen* WTF !! 2) Same camo, same bonusses different acceptable appearance. Only all turrets are ugly unpainted. Lazy job. *Normally i don't fire unique captains....now i did. -
I reset my 3 CV lines right.....so i was playing through Tier IV and VI CV over these weeks getting a good feel of their handling not clouded by higher tier fighter handling. Suddenly patch 0.99 is here...... 1) Lower tier Fighters turn like oil tankers......maybe you are used to that on high tier fighters which is fair as they are heavy and fast....but these Zero's are not. And their low HP is modelled after RL allright.....but Navy Hurricanes and Wildcats should not turn like that either. If anything it would be only somewhat plausible for Wildcats. 2) DD with AA shut down cannot be found untill you overfly them. When you overfly them and turn they will be invisible again. You have to guess where they went and if you are off, you do not have the agility to correct it. 3) Operating against DD often means multiple ships are shooting at you as well. You do not want to spend too much time hitting the DD. With these changes there is no way to hit and run fast..... I have no problems with the DD that shut AA down being very problematic to find and line up against. That discourages to grief them but still be able to assist DD's or other allies spotting them. And ofcourse at this moment you still have your own spotter planes to drop. Except the FDR then.... But the redicuous wide turn radiusses ? Those are hurtful without purpose. When you have allied spotting you want to be able to hit hard and turn fast because you dont have much HP to lose.....not be ripped apart while making rediculous time consuming turns to make several passes. If WG would have changed the damage so we get fair damage making a single pass......but no, only the nerf, no compensation. That said....the narrow torpedos you sometimes drop seem to "intelligently" shift with the surface the target ship presents.....that turns out to be an ENORMOUS buff against ships turning into your torpedos, as standard wide torpedo's would have missed completely.....if that is a bug.....then it is a very funny one. It is because of the latter ( there are buffs as well ) i do not trust the un announced nerfs were accidental "bugs" The low DD visibility was announced long ago ofcourse as well. Stiff controls/huge turns were not. And AA killing 100 % of the returning planes not either....or is that the only "bug" and the rest is just unannounced ?

Reading the article about Isoroku Yamamoto's influence that lead to Japanese military supremacy in Asia in the first years of the Pacific war you can indentify we get ships in WOWS without understanding in what setting they were designed to operate. Although this plays for a number of other ships too ofcourse. Since Japan was outnumbered and full well knew it they sought to defeat enemy fleets using other methods then matching them in naval strenght. One of the things Yamamoto pushed for were 2 engined naval but land based bombers capable of carrying a torpedo using island airfields instead of ships. These did indeed wiped force Z ( Prince of Wales, Repulse ) off the map and sunk many other warships. CV haters should thank WG on their knees these naval bombers are absent in WOWS, as they did play a large part in the pacific naval wars. Real fleets had to endure waves of them. The Japanese pilot on the left plane survived the war.....incredible how low these naval bombers fly to attack ships right ? The other things he pushed for we know : we have them in game.... But they also sought to deminish the enemies superior numbers by defeating them at night. Which they also have done at several infamous and large naval battles in the beginning of the Pacific war : fighting at night, ambushing "blind" enemies. Search lights ( modelled on our ships ) and flares where the instruments, waves of long range torpedoes the surprise weapon. So some things of the 3 essential ways the Japanese sought to defeat numerical superior enemies we have in game, and some are absent and will not fit because of the already controversy against air attacks. The night battle ambush doctrine could be included however. It was very important and a whole navy was purpose built for it. And most of the ships participating in these savage night battles are already in game.... Bright side of that ? In early WWII flying at night was very specialized. This mode would have NO aircraft save for some flare dropping catapult planes

Before radar was present on ships ( up till early WWII ) search lights and light flare dropping catapult planes were used to fight the enemy. The Japanese full well knowing they fought a numerical superior enemy trained to extremly high proficiency at this. Their ships were designed and build for it. Their torpedoes were designed for long range mass lauch at night. Many ships were sunk by being illuminated against burning wrecks of ships near them. And when coming to blows with the enemy in the early part of WWII it proved indeed to be devastating. This lasted up untill Allied ships got radars installed more commonly. Also the Germans not capable of facing the full weight of the Royal Navy operated preferably at night. Raids on the Italian fleet were done at night. All ships in game have search lights modelled......most ships have catapult planes......all they need is search lights to be controlled and catalpults being able to drop flares. ( which could be easy to adress as they will be able to drop DC very soon ) Everything is there.....why not use it in a special night mode ? It would be a true naval battle enviroment that a lot of our ships in game have experienced in RL.

- Load up a training room - Set your bot CV opponent for full movement/attacking ability and HIGH AI setting - Be amazed what the bot CV is capable of. Yes COOP and Operation bots are obviously and intentionally much gimped. Why ? I have no clue....why would newbees need to be pampered dealing with CV when they should be trained to deal with CV in a full PvP enviroment.

Hold on comrade......the full 3 D solution is on its way. Soon torpedoes will be lauched at the large number of offending BB from under, on and above the water surface ! With the new lighting effects WG works on also the burning wrecks will illuminate the other enemies around them ! Just as in RL naval battles.....It will be glorious !

We have enough new ships.....i don't object to more though but it is a lack of new permanent modes ( enviroment for the ships ) that will make me stop playing eventually. Both PvE and PvP. WG is betting on throwing in new mechanic ships in randoms to "ruffle up the meta" is enough to provide variation. That is not so. Randoms "meta" is far from enjoyable to be in. That is why i use CV in them so much : cannot be mass focussed by a wall of camping enemies when moving foreward, cannot be burned down to the waterline and no need to camp. -
This could easily be adressed by WG by giving a winder range of rewards for sound tactical actions or useful team assistance. Not only primarily reward ordinary raw damage as it is now. Or something as corruptable as WR/winning. They could give extra reward for being in the enemies quadrants of the map for example, countering unnescessary camping. Giving a heftier bonus for citaldelling AP shots after ~4 minutes* from start match as that indicates you have flanked an enemy. More bonus for every km a torpedo has travelled rewarding difficult long range launches more......or heftier bonusses if you dare to rush a BB and shove torpedo's in it the old way, awardable for Cruisers also. Reward every minute a DD spends behind enemy positions rewarding it's patience and necsessary lack of scoring every minute......And so on. *timer to differnetiate flanking from shooting Cruisers that travel to their battle posisitions after start. Maybe even punish exploding < 3 minutes in a cap so DD don't feel magically drawn to rush into a cap when they obviously cannot survive that. Why not a clown achievement rewarding - 20 % credits and XP in such cases ? Or when the reward system would be more intelligent, rewards that take a class/supposed role into account performing within design of that class/role.

Previous full ranked i could get to rank 4 before getting stuck. I used primarily DD and CV. Now i can't get past rank 9 bouncing back as far as 12, crawling up, hard landing at 12 again. Since after my RB reset i only have 4 (Super)Cruisers and a BB left and these are the classes with my lowest WR it is quite obvious i am the constant factor in failing to climb ranks here. The thing that does make me wonder is i got a lot more used to Cruisers lately and often get damages way of over 120k. But this alone seems to be no guarantee for succes. Not even when the "first kill" award is often mine, and it is DD - the eyes of the enemy - that get snuffed. I quite got far in the citadelling task for Cruisers aswell......but not in the ranking up......

No player is......you need to work at WG to have any chance of influence over the game. That is the silly thing of the forums.....i bet they are being monitored by community communications employees for large fluctuations in new developed negative sentiments ( not known and expected ones ) but nothing more.

Neither do i...some people just want to see BB sink..... And the nerfs being what they are, this will be the consequence. It takes a while for all CV captains to conclude DD are not worth their time anymore and make the switch in focus, but they will reach the conclusion too. Wait and see....

I will admit that steel thing does not sit well with me, but that is not the cause of me expereincing multiple global nerfs affecting all my CV. I KNOW these global nerfs are to keep FDR awkward A-typical CV mechanic planes in check. So that infuriates me seperate from the not being able to get that CV issue. It must concern those that did get it it is almost 100 % sure it cannot stay is it is now....turning back some of the global nerfs ( that WG is now "investigating" ) will make that FDR go off the scale in performance.

1) They listened, all CV but the newest one got multi nerfed now. Again. Hoewever BB will be the losers of that nerfing as switching of targets will lay the pressure on them. This is playerbase stupidity. 2) All CB with CV seem to be perceived as catastophes so no changes there. And there is the abomination FDR which all classes - including all other CV - were made to suffer from. 3) No brainer 4) Community choose those ships themselves. Not a WG fault that. 5) Not ruining on purpose, but stuggeling with a part of the playerbase that does not want to play the game as the devs designed/envisioned it to be. 6) (missing option but logical in CB context ) No additional PvE content. In CB context : Additional classes bring more tactical options. When against it check in the mirror if you became fossilized already. Your brain may have been....

You must see the full cascade of consequenses before you laugh and think this is a good thing... I conclude DD are no longer worth hunting......not visible unless stupid, turn radius widened so much on top of not being able to see the target = no go, ignore such targets unless they are spotted fighting something else. Therefore no longer a priority focus, but a mere target of opportunity. Then i will switch to what i can see and hurt : cruiser superstructures and thinner plating on them. So i will start killing Cruisers......but Cruisers are dire needed to kill the DD i am now ignoring ! The consequenses of ignored DD, sunk Cruisers and now helpless BB ??? Right....that is playerbase intelligence requesting nerfs, and WG obviously listening.....You must consider that what i am writing above will be the conclusion of all CV players that suddenly find themselves wasting score per minute on DD now. They will switch to other targets too. En masse. As long as more BB - numerous enough in playerbase and MM anyway - are sunk on both sides, this change will not impact me other then being annoyed one class is being overly protected because they lack skills and have become the least popular class ( after CV ) because counter play is too difficult for them....for many their only "tactic" being racing to caps and exploding there .......So i just focus other classes more too. So BB not only get it from the now rampant DD, but also from my torpedo bombers and dive bombers....so much spare time now, not hunting DD.... When the mewling about now rampant DD sinking poor defenceless BB starts, guess who is going to get the nerf bat next ? Maybe meanwhile consider the much ignored torpedo warning skills and modules now ? BB are going to need them.... The balance was upset by the (requested ) nerfs.......now someone has gotta pay......and contrary to popular belief that is not CV who are flexible enough to merely switch targets..... So really...have fun.

When BB team mates are screaming "CV get the DD" i select the aswer which makes the icehockey captain say "you are on your own" We will see how much they like their wish to multi-nerf CV granted......from my expereince ignoring DD with AP rocket planes, not that much....

Under what rock have you been sleeping ??? CV are being deplaned since patch 0.99....since no planes return to the CV as they are all killed after they pull up having dropped weapons. And it does look like all these nerfs - they have put multiple global CV nerfs in the patch - are no accident either. They were put in the keep the new FDR planes in check, but rediculous enough via global CV nerfs.
