Manfred von Richthofen, a study in insanity.
Beastofwar replied to Gnolfus's topic in General Discussion
Now if El2aZeR was telling us that, which he understandably will not as that means he is losing planes just like any player........( besides the fact that was visible in his video's, but saying that landed me another month ban ) Or WG for that matter who's information is 3 page spanning, old and obsolete by many meantime changes and poor in important details like Pikkozoikum's remark. But thanks Pikkozoikum...that does explain a thing or 2. -

1) Cv players are a minor group in the statistics. That means minor income from them as well. 2) How many potential players stop playing in tier 4 and 5 after being grieved every match by multiple CV per side ? I see money being chased away.... They had better come up with something acceptable for CV and other classes. Players that can evade 100 % of it ( or so they say ) are not acceptable. For the ones being hit and feellng helplessness and frustration. Which is Captain_Newman among others...but he is laughing about his unhindered by AA CV assailants jokes....well....you can have your cake and eat it i suppose. -

And players in this topic are complaining CV are too strong....... So something is not working out if that 100 % evading by player skill is intended right ?? It seems to be THE cause of much frustration.....as average CV players won't be able to create that much of a disbalance. And you can't tell me devs themselves are CV haters.....they are the ones that put them in the game, and reworked them, and are putting more of them in the game. -

So there we have it....you can stop right there. Not becoming of a MOD.... When you program something to work in some manner you intend to guide how it is played right ? It DEFINITELY was not programmed so mr El2aZeR can lament other players because he can simply evade it all.......if so, devs should probably not be laughing if at all. -

Even if so they should look to themselves providing so little info about how mechanics truely work that we need to listen to like you.....rambling about your "extraordinary skills" and other players lack of it. So we end up still don't knowing how it works....as all the wows wiki pages about it are "laughable wrong" according to the likes of you. Btw : pretty content with what they have in store for future....and i guess at least they heard of me then ? -

Bombs have a dynamic drop pattern outside player control......if an evading ship ( = WSAD + foreward speed ) manages to end up angeling a little off to the pattern the bombs gloriously miss. The thing you ofcourse will not mention, But Captain_Newman did is players fear being AP citadelled which is ofcourse far more lethal then any CV, AND have well over 20+ km guns ( and making themselves vulnerable with spotter planes instead of fighter planes to increase that range even further ) so they will just remain face foreward and either lay stationary or crawl back in a straight line......and no....WASD will not help them in that situation.....rudders have a way of not responding when there is no water flow, or powerful popellor wash around them....... CV do not kill....player mistakes do....Didn't Napoleon say you should never interrupt your enemy making mistakes....oh well...they rather complain then look to themselves anyway. -

Why can't you dodge bombs then ? Same keys. With all your accusations of Cruiser misplay when they get blapped, it is always stationary campers or backward crawling campers that i reliably blap......misplay too right ? Can't dodge if your rudder is inresponsive due to lack of speed. -

If you complain about CV, but not BB with fantasy calibers that can overmatch any ( Cruiser ) bow/deck armour and blap you at will IN ANY ANGLE POSITION ...then you are just selective in what you get upset about. 381 mm is enough to overmatch 25 mm plating. So what will you do being shot at by 510 mm overmatching 32 mm plating ? Eh ? -
Arent you a bit overreacting ? HDD of 4-6 TB capacity are very normal now.....WOWS install would be insignificantly small on that. I run WOWS on a small and cheap dedicated 256 GB SSD. Just over half free capacity.....such SSD are under 25 euro's........ 1 TB SSD's have become very affordable too nowdays. I saw 4 TB ones too....bit pricy though compared to HDD.

Every ship can detonate another ship when hitting the magazines. Every tier X ship has terrifying damage potential. The complaining is just selective. Damage charts and WR charts comparing all tier X ships will confirm that. -
I believe after 2 days of playing the extreme planes losses are gone. But the "automatic adapting torpedo spacing" is still there at times. But not most of the time anymore. So that strikes me as something that is not intended. If it is a feature you cannot count on it. On the positive side i saw the German launch acceleration seemingly simulating a catapult launch. That is a nice new detail. I did not have the chance yet to look of AA mounts now really turn toward planes on ships.

Counterplay you say ? Ever heard about (bow/deck) armour overmatching, and then penetrating the citadel ? The Shikishima player remarked in chat : "It is not a bug...its a feature" btw : 381 mm guns are already enough for that.....Tier 6 starting caliber..... 25 mm 358 mm Tier 6 and 7 cruisers' decks, most tier 8 - 10 cruisers' bow/stern, tier 8 - 10 light cruisers' side plating Will bounce up to 14-inch shells (356 mm) if sufficiently angled. 26 mm 371 mm Tier 6 and 7 battleship bow/stern and some of their casemate plating Will bounce up to 15-inch shells (381 mm) if sufficiently angled. 32 mm 458 mm Tier 8-10 battleship bow/stern, tier 8 - 10 British and French battleships' casemate plating, Slava deck plating At current only Musashi, Yamato (both 460 mm), and Shikishima (510 mm) can overmatch. -

1) Torpedo bulges......like your fluffy friend says......76 k will could have as much as ~40 % dampened depending on the BB it connects to wich would reduce it to just ~30k 2) We are talking about Tier X damage here which is off the scale for most ships anyway. I saw my full HP Yoshino explode from a Shikisima salvo, so that was at least 61k in one salvo. I have never seen a CV do that, nor can they. -

That blatantly uninformed text Haku torp bombers being able to attack 6 x is quoted from wows wiki..... If you would have read my text you would have come across my own estimation of 3 to 4 attacks since that is what i can get out of a Haku torpedo squadron. But i doubt your BB loving friends are very happy with 76k potential torpedo damage coming from 1 single torpedo squadron attacking either. Sure torpedo bulges will absorb a part of that damage. But those will make MvR torpedos only leave bumping marks on the plating. So ofsetting the difference per AP bomb potential damage of ~ 900 more for MvR against the difference of ~ 5200 ( !!) potential damage per torpedo more for Haku it will not end in the MvR being rediculously more powerful as claimed. Maybe to Cruisers as those are on the main menu of MvR and likely the cause of the influx of recent complaints.....but not to BB that are on the main ( or mixed even ) menu of Haku. Besides that Midways 3 x ~3300 penetrating explosive damage per attack pass + 63 % fire chance ( 68 % with DE ) is not that low on damage either. Being torched multiple times maybe kills slower then AP bombs.....but it kills nontheless. Goes for the 12 bombs of the Audacious too ofcourse. -
Bots often get the mirror image ship of what foolish humans drag in there.......if those are the most OP tier X ships the game has to offer and your desinterested/AFK teammates get snuffed......well......you are really not going to end that winning. It does make for some savage close range battles with rediculous powerful ships, stuff you wil only see in 3 vs 3 ranked sprint at best in PvP. In fact the best fight i ever have been in was in Dreadnought also knocking off snowflakes also being the only one left alive fighting numerous bots...but winning. That was brutal and intense....and very low tier. I had no idea that could be so much fun at times as well.
-
The bots were programmed "Operation Ten Go" obvioulsy......a trip to nowhere not intending to survive. Or win. So that is why they do not cap intentionally. If you are into bot studying when no other humans are around you should load up powerful tier X ships. I noticed that ( desinterested snowflake knocking off humans ) are often defeated by bots in tier X ships. Maybe they get more savage when you do......they sure have the range and firepower then. Pretty awkward when you think coop = auto win

Suggestion: why don't "upgrade" tech tree ships?
Beastofwar replied to anonym_WHY4JO92xZKJ's topic in General Discussion
I do understand you.....i have all T6 and T7 tech tree ships with perma camo just to play Operations alongside premiums. Just for fun, nothing economical about that. It would have advantages being able to make tech tree ships premium ships ( or similar with another designation then gold ) with all features of a premium ship by player choice. Some tech tree ships are even more advanced then premium ships which makes me wonder why the premium ones have antiquated secondary guns and the tech tree ones modern turrets for example....i want these modern ones as premiums ofc ! But then again many bonusses are already the same for perma camo or premium ship camo, and after the captain skill rework you will need less captains since you can skill them for multiple classes so you won't need that many that it becomes a problem moving them around anymore. And clan port buildings provide after battle repair bonusses too.....you can even create a 1 man clan getting such a building stage 4-5 of 6 failrly quickly for the price of 1 perma camo starting that clan. Many work around options. But such a feature as suggested would be even better, yes. -
Is there something special planned for 1.0.0?
Beastofwar replied to steveraptor's topic in General Discussion
This was in another topic......some rather inflexible players with difficulties to adapt to changing ""meta" will face some tough times it seems......but in the end most do adapt ofcourse. I must say this news/prospect makes me happy. Posted September 18 (edited) the Answers from last night's Q&A 1. Italian Battleships confirmed and are coming after the USN BB Split, Reveals soon on the Official Twitch stream. 2. More Game modes coming next year (Bastion Mode has been Mentioned!) 3. Halloween mode, although not explain much 4. Submarines will appear in later patch. 5. Operations will return next year (Good news!). Sea mines are being planned for German Destroyers. 6. WoWs is not going 1.0 yet. 7. Support-type Aircraft Carriers and Hybrids will be the main focus after Submarines. 8. New maps inbound, as well as occuring maps (Bering Sea/Convoys map.) 9. Post-war and Cold war ships are in development (Especially the ones with Missiles) This is all i can list for the Q&A session, Mentioning @S0und_Theif in case i missed some Answers. Suggestion: why don't "upgrade" tech tree ships?
Beastofwar replied to anonym_WHY4JO92xZKJ's topic in General Discussion
Nothing forgiving about income.....maybe when you forgot your clan base has a lot to do with that.....something a lot of solo players may not enjoy, or not at those bonus levels. Plus the obvious premium account and such. You need trillions of credits to buy ships through the highter tiers up to tier X over all nations. Yes some players do that, and not only rush a single tech tree. And some in a fit of mental obliviousness reset these lines on top of that..... -

Beastofwar replied to Gnolfus's topic in General Discussion
I did own a Hakuryu before i reset RB......that is 6800 damage per AP bomb.... I reallllly dont see the earthshaking difference of ~900 damage more per AP bomb when the Haku has torpedoes with 9800 damage a pop !!!!!! Times 2 dropped = 19 k. And an attack wing that can hit you up to 3-4 times = 76 k..... Compared to the laugable firecrackers from MvR at a mere 4533 a pop !! Wows wiki on Hakuryu : Pros: Highest ship speed among Tier 10 aircraft carriers Very thick flight deck armor, preventing overmatch from even the largest caliber BB guns All plane types are reasonably fast Very powerful AP bombs, excellent against virtually all cruisers and battleships Highest torpedo damage and speed among Tier 10 aircraft carriers A full torpedo bomber squadron can attack a target as many as six times in a row ( which would be 6 x 19 = 114 k damage from ONE squadron attacking.....) Good concealment It must be very easy to see which CV is more powerful against BB here right ?? The slight difference in bomb damage is really not going to make up for the difference in damage you can inflict. You guys are mewling about a specific new CV that still pales in comparison to what other tier X CV can do. -
Manfred von Richtofen: how long before the nerf??
Beastofwar replied to Alfa_Tau's topic in General Discussion
Yes..i do not think it is powercrept at all....just used in ways that may not be sustainable ( mobile flame nozzle against BB ) while other options seem not to be considered while very powerful. Not talking about you but the userbase in general. They seem to regard the Smolenks as a 1 trick pony and already began to abandon them. ( aside from it being pulled from availability ) Very bad mistake...it is almost like a Swiss knife in flexibility. Maybe that becomes extra obvious when you sail that hull without the 4 gun DD caliber turrets as well. -
Manfred von Richtofen: how long before the nerf??
Beastofwar replied to Alfa_Tau's topic in General Discussion
You do know what is does to - DD at medium range ( flat firing arcs, very accurate ) ...each turret having the amount of guns as many DD have on their whole ship and of a heavier shell size. - planes when equipped with DFAA and the 6th slot module ( if you have BFT/AFT that boost the main guns also it is even more terrifying ) - Cruisers when equipped with IFHE ( high ROF ships constantly blazing guns profit from this more then starting fires when fighting Cruisers ) Shooting BB on fire from smoke is not the only way to go for this ship. I watched in amazement without IFHE of 600 fired shells 500+ shattered for 0 damage. But started 8 fires. Damage went up immidiatly with IFHE, still producing 4 fires....it is not the caliber that justifies IFHE but the ROF competing with fire damage it seems.... -
Puerto Rico ?
-
That is exactly why in PvP you target high tier Cruisers with it......305-310 mm Supercruisers do that too........and you have 356/50 caliber guns so in theory you can fight in tier X. I only brought Narai up as a comparison between other T7 BB's damage. These really do not outperform Florida. And when in PvP, what do you target with Scharnhorst, hmmm ? High tier BB ?? Thought not...it is a cruiser killer also.
