  1. When they would decide to give away free respec now i expect cash payback.... The increased ROF without punishment change on a number of - gunboat - DD was too important to leave them as they were, while getting worse concealment previously was too much of a punishment to take the skill. Especially since a lot of gunboats have bad concealment already. A lighthouse build DD is a complete fail ofcourse. A lot of players saw this coming and left blanc skilled captains in reserve. I guess they were absolutely right.

    Newport isnt that hard.....you just flank the incoming bots and AP citadel them, keeping aware bots will pop up behind you and then have islands between you and them untill you can flank them too. Fragile glass cannons like the Budyonny perform most excellent there. DD can flank and AP citadel those low tier bot Cruisers too, and torpedo the BB's. AP rocket CV are very succesfull in that too albeit pretty vulnerable to bot Cruiser (continuous) AA. What goes wrong is that campers from PvP randoms play Newport too......and think they can HE camp it out form the bay, firing on small surface head on bots which almost always results in too little DPM on the rushing bots. Hell, you even risk - karma for actually do what must be done and leaving the bay to flank & destroy. Or cause others to leave the bay also but without a brain : going head on with the bots or being surprised by a next wave. A competent team - ocassionaly there is - wins Newport 5 stars with no effort at all. The thing is just with PvP MM you have no control over that unless you go divisioned. And for that there is usually only eneouh interest to go Narai.

    They are now having a "Dunkirk" event with directives and reward Dunkirk boxes. I would rather have had a return of Operation Dynamo to "celebrate" Goes for other "cheap" references to historic events and battles too : let us experience them ! Make scripted historic battles to emerge our ships in. Give the ship models some better use then "mix em all up and throw em in a generic death match"

    Only if you expect Commonwealth "nation" to get more ships in future you might want to play. Then you would have developed a higher point captain you can slap onto all classes of that "nation" It is not that unlikely.....EU began as pretty obscure tech tree as well but now even has a Battleship, Dutch tree is split off from EU possibly with experienced Dutch commanders that were formerly EU, and Pan Asian was also an obscure "nation" that now has several Battleships, a CV, Cruisers, multiple potent premium DD and a full DD tech tree line. Then again one would expect Commonwealth to copy-paste ships from UK and US. Just as most Pan Asian is Russian, UK, French and US copy-paste of ships we already have/know. But you never know if WG comes up wirth something unique even though it looks very similar.

    Some patches you say ? Impressive...lol In reality i agree that being a veteran or not has 0 connection to playing a game or justifies getting any form of entitlement out of that. Being a veteran was just a job you got paid for, and didnt think it through very long before you got into that. It is just another form of thinking you are important or did important things, ( or were made to think that so you could be used for the scemes of truely people in power ) but no one appriciates it in reality. Or if they did appreciate it, it did not last very long. In that way, noZoup bumped his nose twice it seems.

    From what i have seen it is quite the opposite. Many got back desillusioned and often suffering PTSS and are puked out of society. I have worthless medals with a dove with leafs in its beak myself in a drawer......no one is interested in that. Ofcourse. Like ( lol ) |Rambo said : "you cant even buy a cup of coffee with them" That is what service for your country is worth......this dissapointment ( and also desillusion again ) has far reaching consequenses for a lot of veterans. And earlier in history with limbs shot off, you could beg in the streets or die as thanks.....Now injury is more often in the head. Society has no tolerance for that.
  7. Sorry to post another poll but i need to know about how you experience 2 reworked captain skills after quite some time after they first appeared : Dazzle and Outnumber skills. I have tried them but could not determine their value, so resorted back to better understood skills that i can feel that actually work. I do not read much about them either. I did read LWM assesment on Dazzle that is is as likely to kill you then save you ( a shot that would have missed now RNG hits you ) and it is meant to spoof long range shots at you somewhat, not so much to get an enemy DD machinegunning you from close range missing you. The outnumbered skill is even more a puzzle : most Cruisers are quite squishy in PvP when being used agressively, something that skill implies doing, more enemies visible then allies. I can only think of end game situations where you are one of the last survivors where this could help somewhat ( very situational ) or extreme agressive play in Operations like Newport, flanking the bots. The Heavy SAP & HE shells seems very nice to me, but not at the cost of making already fragile Cruisers even more fragile by being detectable from longer range. To me it seems this skill is meant only for DD caliber weapon Cruisers as they are not punished for it. Do plyers use them for other Cruisers as well ? How can these skills be worth 4 points ? Who takes them and why ?

    Such things happend publicly to extremely well paid and world wide known UK TV celebrities too ( and countless other well known people too ofcourse ) .....when you are in the illusison you are so big you can say or do anything......you proabably take the fall. When you make yourself dependend on other humans approval.....well you are at least in a precarious situation that might not last. That is why a lot of celebrities are living ( at least) 2 lives ; one for the public ( often felt as fake or a lie ) and one private. And that has a price too, not everyone can pay. When i hear NoZoup such things played a part for him too...he did not want/could not to put up a facade or keep that up. Yet people who do that profesionally ( politicians.offical spokesmen, car salesmen ) lie with every word they say as easy as they breathe. It is not for everyone. You could say NoZoup is at least honest in that he cannot betray what he believes is right. But that has a price. I guess this is what happens when you are a really good player, but your ego inflates along with it to an extend you can be only toxic about all the things the dev do "wrong" aka not do what you want. Ofcourse then you are not valuable to the games promotion purposes anymore.

    I thought a s much....i did away with all mentioned talents but the thought i am missing something important about them kept me rethinking. I guess some talents are really irrelevant or even non functional ( save for some very rare occasions ) and practically only serve as decoration, a sense of having a choice where you factual have not.

    He sounds like another one that tripped over his own ego with consequence losing CC status......but what i know his was not the largest inflated one out there. Feeling important is a traiterous thing.....and discovering you are not without a doubt very painful. You can actually know you are not important concerning this game's "reality" ; when you are not a dev you are a nobody ( just another player / customer ) whatever you think of yourself. And even devs can be thanked for their service......

    With the new visuals you can actually see the shots bouncing on armour in a fiery trial from enormous distances away...to ones dismay actually as you really want to see a big explosion... Yeah.....when you see a broadside, you actually can take the perfect shot and then you see merely bounces and splahes as a result......that frustrates. Even more when the counterfire does do significant damage on you in return, despite being properly angled ! And then some BB seem to have sawed off shot guns as main guns that manage to miss full salvo's at < 10 km.... But encountering this one with a 380 mm armed French BB just laughing at me showing full broadside on purpose is the pinnacle of it all. ( yes it is still not invulnerable...but you can forget citadeling it ) Hah...

    Well they can easily go well over 100 to even 200K in Operations - Budyonny and Schcors ( and Molotov or Lazo ) that is - with agressive flanking and thus AP citadelling bot Cruisers. So technically they also could in PvP, were it not humans will not allow to be flanked most of the time and you also face a wall of enemies each side of the map in randoms just waiting for you to pop into their sights...... Therefore you will have to wait for clumsy enemies turning in full sight or otherwise showing broadside and waiting is not being in control of how much damage you can do, so that is probably why it is ~ 32 k on average in PvP and not 200k. The torpedoless and HE/SAP less Mysore ( but UK tech tree light Cruisers do that too but have torpedo's ) taught me how to AP ravage BB's who's armoured belt is much to thick to citadel fast as well by targetting casemates, bow and stern and thus not only their superstructures. The RU Cruisers AP is good for that too, if you can get acces to flank angles. The later high tier RU Cruisers are perticularly poor on fire chance too with only 180 or 220 mm guns where other large Cruisers use 300+mm , so it is a good thing to learn to use AP in as many situations as you can. The lower tier RU Cruisers have rediculous unusable low torpedo range ( ~ 4 km ) and do not fare well in close quarters combat. But can rack up quite the numbers if you do manage to shove them into an enemy BB. The bow can bounce some BB AP shells when you approach....but aimed at your superstructure ( or just going there by RNG ) there will not be much left of your ship by a single hit. That said, using AP in PvP is always far more difficult then just lobbing HE at superstructures hoping for fires. All that BB plating except for the red part is good for AP penetrations, when you can get reasonable angles on it. You dont have to spray it with HE unless you cannot flank it. AP penetrations still cause more damage then HE penetrations, even when not landing in the citadel. Then again they can bounce, shatter and hit 0 damage parts as well. When to use AP and when HE is practically the game. I admit i learned to do that ( be much more efficinent with AP ) in Operations, with varying results in PvP and am still learning every day. However using AP in PvP more often my damage went up.
  13. Not actually seen in randoms, but divisioned Ops....the small number of nice and usually non toxic operations channel players is a gentle breeze to get pause from the toxic hell that randoms can be.

    But one of these secondary skills accelerates the main gun reloading as well, giving quite a substantial benefit in situations where your enemy is grinning with all barrels pointed at you at pissing distance from you....the 1st one to complete reloading in such situations is the one that sails away..... When you spec for close quarters combat, you will have to force close quarters combat whenever you can to benefit ofcourse. And when all goes south, the rammer flag is always a nice thing to have in the mast......this to the frustration of many a almost full HP BB enemies protesting the unrealism of it all...hey i do not disagree with that, but i will use it as it is....

    Yes very much true.....i had to use IFHE secondary builds in the most recent ranked because that was suddenly in t6-t7 range and all the ships i have in that range are Operations efficient configured, not hardcore PvP. Not that it mattered a lot frankly......55 % WR may be below elitists dignity but it got me in silver in 3 days.

    I have such a build for Operations BB, but with torpedo protection instead of concealement........it feels valuable as bot DD and Cruisers like to spam torpedo's around a lot. In fact bot Cruisers are using their torpeo's far more then human players. You can count on them launching whenever they can. I think concelament is pretty useless firing long range guns, practically the whole map can see that. In PvP when you do not charge foreward ( too soon ) you dont have to flee into concealment because you are mass targetted either. That said i only see value for secondary builds ( and for some inlcuding IFHE as i want the secondaries to be able to do DIRECT damage, that is punch 26-27 mm plating ) in Operations where they can rack up ~ 50k damage all on their own. Fire chance is not missed there, targets often die in seconds anyway and BB shoot exclusively AP or SAP at bots. In PvP enemies are too remote for the rework introduced piss poor accuracy most of the time. And what damage do secondaries do in PvP ? Light some (extra) fires if you are lucky......

    It seems when you look at poll results either this forums population is not a good representation of the server population or WG really has diffrent motives to not invest and even discourage Operations as they state there is insufficient interest in that mode.

    Budyonny's server statistic average damage is around 32 k.... Based on that you are probably expecting things it cannot do. ( in PvP that is )

    When i use my UK CV against BB they always ignite, and after a few passes they burn 3 fires for full duration. When i have to come back i do it again. It is the same for UK BB and UK heavy Cruisers lobbing HE at enemy BB i suppose...frying enemies is really their thing. What does that say about "survivability" builds ? Some food for thought that.....

    I don't think i have claimed otherwise ? It is still in the old text under my postings... But i read through somewhat of your wall of text and is it all wrong : FDR main weapon is it's continuous spotting because it's planes are locked out of being able to do damage, or travel very slow not being able to damage most of the time, but are still spotting all that time they are circling in FLAK explosions. A compentent team uses that almost continuous spotting to destroy the enemy, especially concealed Cruisers that would otherwise be invisible. That is probably why it it s steel ship ( for CB use ) it needs competent team players to recognise and use what it offers. Random teams however demand you hunt DD ( assuming that is what CV do ) while you probably cant even hit them reliably with those BB oversized reticule and slow fall bomb DB and likewise rocket planes. You can spot DD but you will end at the bottom of the score board so that is a waste of own scoring and XP/credit income potential while you should be frying BB sized targets. - 3 karma for not hunting DD is quite common This community has some getting used to do do concerning set-in-stone tasks they expect of ships. Strike plane carrying BB and Cruisers, and air strike caling Cruisers will probably change that after a while which must be seen as a good thing.

    Do you have any sane exlanation why WG wants to drop 1.2 million potential damage on campers in testing ? It is a nice publicit stunt however. Uproar assured. My bet is we will not see these ships made available to all players with such capability. The will tune it down. You dont see FDR on the top of the scoring board every Tier X match either don't you ? No those cluncky flying, unenjoyable, 20 second attack locked, snail speed flying, slow motion traveling weapon bricks of CV are more likely to be below the middle of the score board. Despite doing impressive spike damage here and there that gets some CC and players to have foam on the mounth, but has very little match impact.

    Depends on how much HP these planes have..... I am always amazed how many FDR planes - with insane amounts of HP - are continuously going down inside continuous AA sfere of ships. But then again these have to linger there with a damned 20 second attack lock which these consumables do not have to do.
