    What about "broken" DD that delete a BB in one torpedo strike ? In three strikes- like the far less powerfull CV torpedo's - if they are DD amateurs ? Invisible and out of nowhere...can't evade what you don't see coming, untill much too late ofcourse. No BB player takes torpedo warning skills and modules either. In that light CV at least give you a WASD chance you might survive.
  2. Actually capping rewards very well for a DD too. But it is not often i do not either fight a rival DD or torpedo BB. It is one or the other. But yes the game is designed to encourage you to buy 5000 doubloon perma camos and premium time. That is certainly no design error, it is the base income model.

    You know what happens to teams in ranked where one side has no radar Cruisers, no CV and 2-3 DD per side ? It automaticly loses. It happens a lot i noticed when in DD myself....that is probably i was reported for bringing an Azuma earlier in the league. (bad skill) DD probably want anti-DD mechanics removed ( and why stop with only removal of CV eh ? ) but that is a very bad idea for non-radar Cruisers and BB. Cruisers dont want to be forced to play with radar Cruisers only so i guess radar need to go too eh ? RDF gives a lot of anti-DD capability too.....remove that too right ? And then who is going to stop DD from killing every Cruisers and BB in the match with now unlimited power ? No....anti-DD mechanics are there for a good reason. When you have DD skills it means you can deal with being kept in check, and still win. When i must rate threats to me as DD is would say 1) DD killer type DD with RDF that come straight for me forcing a confrontation, which is extremely lethal when you are in a torpedo type DD 2) Radar Cruisers i could not see because they are hiding behind islands and then suddenly light me up with radar after the enemy fleet i was spotting concentrated fire on me and enemy DD and cruiser come racing to intercept me 3) CV that directly overfly me with AA shut off so i have extremely low detection range. Of these 3 things CV are the least dangerous. I rather bow face rocket fire then Cruiser or DD HE shelling.....
  4. I always think WG is asking the wrong questions in polls, never seemingly wanting to know what players really want. I want to know what players want, because i could be wrong too ofcourse. So what you think about Operations ? Me.....i bought all T6 and T7 premiums specially for that...i never use those in randoms ( i did in last Bronze ranked though, but they were optimized for Operations so that was a bit of added difficulty ) and retain some fun tech tree ships with perma camo's specially for Operations too. I truely hate it WG does nothing about offering fresh new Operations, for more tiers ( especially tier 5 and 8 as i have many interesting premiums in that range ) and instead limit the ones available to pure boredom and then nerf income and what not to chase everyone away from it. Intentional or not. In fact were it not for ranked ( tactical play with all classes ) and CV class in randoms i would have probably lost interest in the game. There is so much potential in scripting famous naval battles, raids, channel/strait escape dashes and other historic operations it is almost a crime not to use these beautiful historic correct ship models in the settings and enviroment they really fought in. What say you ?

    Not by accident ? I recently hit a DD in the mast shortening my squad while still unfamiliar with he fact these skip bombs jump really low. I thought the bombs would clear him or hop over him. Didn't kill him but he was quite angry too. Since then many DD died with that newfound and unintentional knowledge....but they were enemy DD. If not on accident that is strange behavior in a ranked where you want to progress is it not ? Killing allied DD is the same as setting up a loss. Or were you losing already and was it an anger issue ?

    Is the whole EU tree "broken" too according to you ? I will keep you informed when i get the tech tree T9 ( 3rd RB reset of the EU line ) reach gold qualification and run into Smallands again. Right now to me they are nothing special having experienced them 2 ranked seasons before. I know too tech tree T10 Halland is both the better torpedo boat and AA platform. Far more important then some fraction faster gun reload, you are not playing alone in ranked are you ?

    At 3rd rank silver league now.....i have met no stupid DD players. In fact i see a lot of display of often impressive DD player skills. True Cat & Mouse stuff among islands, caps and smoke. Thinking ahead of what the enemy DD will do like it is a chess game. Several players have complimented their opponents, giving the impression it is already a world of difference from toxic randoms.

    That is extreme......tier X......what could you possibly have hit with plating in those tiers ???? Sank 2 ships how lol ??? Why weren't you radared, hydroed and torpeoed out of smoke ? Bombed and rocketted by CV ? Something strange about CV in match but you have no airkills.....in something that is supposed to be an AA Cruiser ( no secondaries, no torps, nothing but AA guns ! ) I am really intrigued as to what the hell happend there My guess is you actually used it as LWM said : shoot at distracted targets.....still that is an awesome result then.

    I have noticed strange matches with 4 DD's per side being thrown in that match while a lot of other matches have no DD at all. With no DD in the match radar Cruisers complain a lot as they are then BB food with nothing below them in the food chain. With lots of DD the complaining class is ofcourse BB. That said it must be a gruesome experience for a BB to face a DD without help from allied DD, radar Cruisers or - heaven forbid - CV. This morning i saw 4 BB driven before me ( CONAN !!! YEAH !!! ) in Chung Mu because there was little else they can do against something invisible that can sink them from nowhere when their sides DD and Cruisers all got snuffed. ( thnx to Chung Mu radar and spotting contribution ) At times as such you should reconsider if wanting to remove CV from the game is really a smart thing to want.....it makes DD have infinite power, cap anything uncontested. I guess that is really what the CV hating mob is after per definition....and after CV would have been removed, radar is next ofc....

    reported for using a "weak ship" in ranked match reported for using a t6 in a t7 dominated ranked match reported for using a t8 in a t9 dominated ranked match reported for using an Azuma in ranked match reported for using a DD with radar ( Pan Asian, Orkan ) reported for using Asashio reported for using CV reported for having private set stats CV specific reported for not babysitting DD in the cap while babysitting the other DD in the cap reported for not flying half the map to drop fighters on a high tier BB or Cruiser that could/should have AA enough on its own reported for losing the match reported for sinking a lot of enemy ships, especially in quick succession reported for being the victim of a succeeded cv sniping attempt reported for being the last one alive, win or lose reported for killing CV assaulting DD in self defence reported for failing to kill assaulting DD in self defence, while no ally lifts a finger to help ofc. DD specific - reported for not immidiatly capping with radars all around - reported when losing a fair fight against a rival DD - reported when CV or radar kills you despite careful play - reported for sinking BB - and spotting whole enemy flanks - with torpedo boats but not fighting over cap domination which you would lose - reported for leaving an unsupported cap that ofcourse gets overrun, often that flank too - reported for sinking multiple enemies with torpedo's ( they think you are hacking the game and they send proof to WG....yeah right ) Strange enough when using Cruisers ( barring the bizarre "you can not bring Azuma" ) and BB there are no frequent reports. While i for myself want to report BB all the time for camping behind a rock not supporting their DD against radar Cruisers, but i know it is as useless as all the reports that keep me rock solid 0 karma. Only reports i send are for chat violations involving deadly deseases and grave personal insults that are not related to being a player that plays a game. Especially in private chats that pop up after a match. Just click report bye. Btw : reports, especially -2 and -3 ( CV only ) rather work as a laugh inducing and mood improving thing to me. Though it is a pity that the + karma of excellent cooperation and results in Operations goes to 0 again because of PvP toxidity.
  14. The issue did however affect noticeably the number of already relative few available operations channel using players. Maybe only temporarily, but if you want to sufflocate the mode into "can't continue the mode because no one plays it" this is one way to do it. The captain skill rework cut the number of active players there as well, as did it cut the number of players that are not hardcore into PvP in my "clan" Seems that forcing players into PvP that do not want to PvP and monetizing PvP driven factors ( your WR will fall if you don't adjust your captains ! ) drives off a lot of potential customers. These guys that went inactive for months often have a lot of premiums ships ( T6 and T7 range ofc ) and premium account thus were paying customers too. I do expect most of them back when submarines come. Maybe WG counts on that as well. WG would do well however come submarines to make - new and refeshing - Operations and including submarines in older Operations to attract these guys back into the game. Many simply do not like the chaotic massed randoms deathmatch that has 0 relevance to the historic ships you actually play, and fairly that includes me too although i do like ranked. Another way of getting these guys back is make T5 and T8 operations ( or bringing them back if applicable ) for starters, as that will make their T5 and T8 premiums usable in a mode they like ( and WG could sell them more premiums in that range ) ...but we have been over that discussion countless times....

    Yes so "controversial" it is hard to find any info on it. Even LWM skipped that with the otherwise very informative reviewing what the reworked talents do. Still it is part of the game too. I find myself almost forced to put only points into plane survivability and enhancing their damage. - I see no point to concealment improvements as in higher tiers i really dont want to be closer to spotting DD, spotting enemy CV planes, CV hunting DD wolf packs or CV sniping enemy, CV and BB that can shoot me over 3/4 of the map and crumbeling flanks with flank speed charging enemies. Distance is life and planes are already 4-5 x faster then ships to make up for that. The only exception for me to close in is covering islands being available, but then you dont need improved concealment either as the island will do that for you. - I see no point ( playing in randoms/ranked ) in enhanced fighter consumables. Blocking the enemy from attacking your team is not how CV are set up in the game considering score and income : you get credits for doing damage yourself win or lose. Throwing out a fighter over DD that benefit from it is one thing, specializing into thourougly protecting them into fighters that cannot be despawned or spoofed is a whole other matter. In what mode ( CB perhaps ? ) could that be truely valuable over doing as much damage to enemy ships as you can ?? - I see no point in speed enhancing skills.......these improve speed by what ? The best improvement is 11 knots out of 219 knot German DB.....i really dont think i can notice such a marginal difference, let alone attack much more often during an entire match. The speed gain is lower with slower planes as well, while they need it much more. And since the fastest planes are usually the most fragile ones too, any benefit of spending less time in continuous AA is nullified already. - Torp acceleration or higher torpedo speed ? Increases arming distance a lot. Dropping closer to hulls gives me better results. ( less reaction time and less space needed for drops between islands and hulls ) - CV AA improvements ? Before the rework i did have that as there are always enemy CV that try to snipe you and the more ( preferably all ) planes that do not survive that the earlier they will give up. An early damaged CV is a huge disadvantage when later in the game more damage must be able to be absorbed to escape or have enough time to kill the enemy that is attacking you. But now secondaries are disconnected from AA buffing, and you practically need all points in plane enhancements it really got too expensive in points. Who ever invests in these skills ? - Secondary range improvement. Before the rework when it was connected with AA i used to have that. It snuffed an attacking DD that came too close now and then, and was usefull in the rare but sometimes occuring CV vs CV close quarter combat as last survivors going for a still decisive last cap. But now it only extendeds the pitiful range ( non German ) of pityful accuracy secondaries and no longer is connected to AA buffs aswell. CV like the FDR have very little defence against attacking DD : they need strong secondaries to at least deter DD coming too close ( most DD have 10+ km gun range and torpedo's ) but get a redicous 5 km stock range, with an insane 4 points cost 6 (!!) km and this at tier X !!! I cannot see how anyone even considers such a wortheless skill ! Enhancing German secondaries you say ? Enhancing something that does not need it ? Well could be a nice touch to 1 vs 1 fun special modes, but does that justify the existence of that skill ? What are your ( those that play CV ) opions on the reworked CV skills ? Am i making huge judgement errors and am operating sub optimal efficienty now ? Please do explain in detail then. Below : the only variation i have is AP weapon CV and HE weapon CV.

    Gotten to the point i switch from CV to DD to progress into gold league......worked before and is seems like that will work now too. Even with stock tech tree DD with 7.6 (!!) km concealment.

    I see before me the situation to surface in the middle of a group of camper BB and torpedo them in Das Boot style before diving under to escape alerted Cruisers and DD's. But somehow i know WG will make that sheer impossible by everyone detecting you everywhere however deep you may dive...themo layers at various depths bouncing hydro/asdic so you can go undetected ? Does not suit gameplay as the poor BB would be forced to use their WASD keys.... Still another mechanic to get them moving ( foreward ) and negate their woeful attempts to stay invisible between shots and camp without repercussion in the back is welcome to me. Yet killing stationary campers with CV ( or Asashio i noticed ) has become a rather pleasant and easy way of racking up much higher scores then actually having to work hard for it. So getting campers moving is also against my interests. Bullying campers with attacks from nowhere ( DD or future Submarines ) or outside their control ( with planes ) never gets old. It brings fun in otherwise unenjoyable random mode.

    Although rediculed for it CV with servicable secondary batteries ( anything but Saipan or Enterprise ) used to kill 1 out of 5 attacking DD ( on their own, without plane assistance ) with AFT and BFT and the secondary module taken. So in roughly 1 in 5 DD attacks that came that close ( most didnt as they were killed by planes ofc ) i would live to fight on where i otherwise would have sunk. But now with these nerfed to oblivion secondaries and only an insanely costly 4 point skill that isnt even near efficent enough ( FDR from 5 to 6 km at tier X ????? ) for some drunken sprayed lightshow......no that is not a serious option. Much to my regret, because secondaries snuffing an attacking DD is insult to injury and very enjoyable to watch. I feel it is a problem CV like FDR have very poor defence against DD as it's planes are inefficient fighting them by design. They can sink DD but that takes a lot of time ( due to BB sized reticule being rediculously RNG when it comes to hitting small targets + slow-motion travel of rockets, bombs and torpedos ) you won't have facing DD killer packs set on sinking the CV from match start. Tier X DD are very powerfull, very fast and have 10+ km range weapons. so 5 km drunken spraying secondaries - as a means of last ditch defence - is a joke, while that ship would need it if only to keep DD from simply lauching torpedo's at it at rnages they can't possibly miss. However WG devs seem to feel it's excessive spotting ability - its real strenght, not the rediculous occasional huge damage spike attacks that are just a gimmick to upset some campers - must be countered by a possible swift destruction. That or they just simly forgot to compensate secondaries on other ships then Cruisers and BB for the loss of AFT and BFT. But being nerfed to rediculous inaccuracy even correcting that would result in worse last ditch CV defence then it already was when AFT and BFT were still there. Btw : i know youre were trolling.....but i am serious about this matter.

    What worries me having now read the LWM review as well is that it's light AP shells do not seem to be able to damage anything very well in PvP setting at tier 8 and beyond : - while it can damage DD it's light AP is not really dangerous to them. Therefore the radar is more to help allies to kill a DD then you will get that kill yourself unless it was really low HP. - while it can damage ( rather herass ) BB casemate, bow, stern and superstructure at improved angles you will never be able to kill a full HP BB before he kills you, that simply can run you down like grass as you dont have torpedo's to stop it doing that. Heck you dont even have ( fire setting ) secondaries ! To BB this boat is a yummi snack. - while it can damage Cruisers the shells seem very light.....i saw them bounce on an almost 90 degree angle heavy Cruiser broadside at very close range. And most Cruisers in PvP will angle vs you when they would be vulnerable to begin with. - it does not seem to be able to explode whole squadrons or even do strong damage to planes with ( skilled into ) DFAA as some other ships can. It's AA even feels weak while it ( after the real ships example i suppose ) sacrificed secondaries, torpedo's and whatnot just for AA guns. While this should be an AA Cruiser ! So what can you kill at all ? It has no hydro either so sitting in smoke peppering enemies (superstructure for weak damage i suppose ) with light AP is still very dangerous. LWM said it should hope for distracted enemies...right.....this ship can only perform in PvP if enemies make mistakes. I can see coming some will report you for bringing such a ship into more "competitive" modes where everything keeps facing you angled and you can only pepper superstructures for very low damage. It does have 4 slots of consumables.....it must be an extreme version of a support Cruiser that must let others do the job and herass the enemies they are fighting with. That is a very weak ship and not a very attractive task/role. T6 Mysore that has the same traits ( but more guns and even has some secondaries ) but at least can be used to super-agressively flank enemies in Operations, and easily top the scoreboard doing it racking up credits and XP that are comparible to doing well in randoms or ranked. But for this T8 ship only Coop is an option for similair high performance...and i dont play that.

    Comparing apples with oranges are we now ? I said when it has considerable AA to begin with. That is where Tiger obviously is different - far less capable - then the Azuma i ran into and told about. Stock values, not enhanced : apples and oranges Azuma shoots 8 FLAK clouds when stock btw, Tiger only 4. Such thing matter as deatching planes are shot by FLAK too and no longer under player control.....

    Attacked it with Kaga and it seemed pretty durable ( it has a huge heal capacity ) took me 4 returning squadrons x 2 attack runs with torpedo's bombs and rockets before it finally succumbed. I noticed from another occacsion its AA kept shooting at me well beyond 7 km when trying to pass it on my way to another target. Curious about that i bought it and played it myself, once configured in an AA setting and once in a surface combat setting. I was not impressed by it's AA when playing it myself...while WG advertises it as an AA Cruiser. That adds to the fact i already found out Kaga flimpsy paper planes can live to attack it 2 x per squadron. As a surface combattant is seems comparible to how other UK light Cruisers operate. Only being able to use AP is suboptimal when shooting DD and angled targets despite it no doubt will have improved angle AP shells. It has no torpedo's and can thus be run down by BB in its smoke. It is too high tier to be usefull in Operations where you can flank bots with it ( Mysore can run rampant there, even against BB despite similair handicaps ) When i ran into an broadside Ibuki around an island my AP did not penetrate into it's citadel at very close range, but it's return fire did kill me. That my Ap did so little damage surprised me but will have its reasons i will find out about i suppose. Dunno..it is not OP by any means and no doubt requires skill - and patience waiting for opportunities - to make it work. As such you cannot control how much damage it does in PvP ( no SAP, no HE no Torpedo's ) so that will probably vary wildly with each match. I forgot to read LWM review first....should probabaly really have done that before purchasing it.....but then again now i have a challenge : to make that thing work in whatever power state it is. Not being a slave to WR i have freedom to learn to make it work.

    This cluncker you mean ? Its a terrible bad CV in unorganized chaos randoms or ranked where other CV do quite well due to being far more flexible and self sufficient...... Many Unicums do not touch it with a long stick.....for a good reason. As stated it needs stationary campers to be present in a match to get the huge damage spikes, but not even that does assure to get the same score / good results as other Tier X CV thanks to it's attack being locked all the time, and plane speed being extremely low. In absolutely needs a competent team that actively uses its continuous spotting. That will not happen with the rabble in randoms and is not optimal in ranked. That is why it is a steel ship.....it needs to be part of coordinated play. To pin being rocketed, bombed or torpedoed to hell by this CV in randoms or ranked is to admit you have abmyssal playing skills and need a scapegoat as it can't be you that is at fault. Would this thing not have the nerve wrecking and completley unenjoyable 20 sec attack lock after each attack, normal speed planes and normal speed for it weapons ( now slow motion ) then it would be a terror in randoms and ranked. Now it is but a marginal ship in the shadows of other Tier X CV. But the high WR on stats sites ? Must still involve older or even test values, when players that were attacked had no clue what this thing did and how to easily avoid taking more then marginal damage or due to it being rare and not much used which has a way of reflecting much too positive values....that do normalize over time and more use.......

    You dont even play/own one...how can you say anything about how they play then ? It is so cluncky and unresponsive with nervre wrecking 20 second attack lock timers after each strike it is anything but "playing without repecussions" You judge by the spike damage it can exact on stationary campers !!!! only. Anything with speed that actually uses WSAD keys will take minimal damage. Play it...then come again.

    I ran into an enemy Azuma that totally clapped my [edited]and deplaned me, a sensation i have not experienced in months. At first i thought it was the Alaska next to him that did that to my planes, never began to suspect it was an Azuma that could do this. When i asked he was friendly ( yes CV haters ) and explained he had an AA build, and enjoyed handing me my [edited]despite trying to evade the FLAK as always. The win was rediculously mariginal, had the timer gone slower he would have won on his AA that deplaned me and kept me that way trying to stop him from recapping. Despite his team mates that all but rage quit over Cv's in the match sinking them and threw his match. AA is useless ? Not when you put actual skills in them if your ship has considerable AA to begin with. Hallands being the most extreme example ofc. Keep lying to yourselves if you must......
