Players hate the CV rework so much they all leave.....so the servers get overloaded with players....lol !!!! I guess it can't be that bad afterall.....i'm having a good time, and not only in CV :-)
-
I didn''t touch any DD as my fighters were stuck with Tiny Tims :-)) Which i do not know how to use very well yet, even on cruisers and BB i miss with them.... By the way removing F key will not nerf me, i rarely use it. I like to perform multiple attack passes especially with torpedos. It seems you can still lay a sandwich of torpedos yourself.

A case for reducing airspeed of all carrier bomber planes
Beastofwar replied to Mad_Dog_Dante's topic in General Discussion
When stating ""aircraft are too fast" you do know you only mean tier 10 aircraft, possibly tier 8 to some extend ? Try tier 4 and say it again......you will be well asleep before you squadron finally gets there at ~ 80 knots. I mean the whole rework mechanic cannot be just nerfed because of tier 10 gameplay issues. They will have to look at WHAT squadrons are too fast, too accurate, too powerful and so on. Same goes for bringing hellfire to DD they hate so much. While all i see isn't that effective that outcrying is warranted. But i dont play at tier 10 ! -
In the old RTS mechanic CV players were accused of bad play, were spoken to in very foul language and had to deal with a lot of hostility from their own team, if they did not provide each ship their own private bodyguard fighter squadron. Even now it dawns on many that the consumable does the same thing, it's already starting again. You wish to bring this back and even worse ??? I am certainly not against the return of controllable air supriority fighters. It could relieve the pressure on allied and enemy ships beacuse of instead using attack aircraft you use fighters that cannot hurt ships for the duration you use them. While at it, you could make them unable to spot other then aircraft too. less pressure on DD play. By flying higher or something like that. Air supriority needs altitude right ?

CVs and gaming enjoyment in WoWs: Polls
Beastofwar replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
There were 3 CV on one side ( 2 on the other (!) in a tier 4 match i played out of curiouslity. BB's were executed by swarms of squadrons as all concentrated on a single T4 BB at a time. This situation is a hard WG fault. I can see how this ruiins the game of those ( BB ) players. WG risks even chasing off relative newcomers this way. I still believe that the rework itself is not to blame though. There are just too many CV active. Should have had a 1 CV per match limit, despite waiting queue's. Now (almost) no one is happy with the rework. -
Never seen anyone escape it......but then again i do not play at Tier 10 yet !! And ofcourse all the good players are tier 10 right ? You cannot get there sucking as you get 0 reward......or is it not so ? I hope to see you in battle on the opposite side...

^^ Oh i forgot......the game before tier X does not exist !!

A case for reducing airspeed of all carrier bomber planes
Beastofwar replied to Mad_Dog_Dante's topic in General Discussion
Slower planes would be slaughtered by FLAK. Cannot happen unless nerfs to AA no one wants, or aircraft with the constitiuon of A10 Warthogs. -
Did never happen, but when it did my own fault ? Right...

Torpedo wall coming from 2 sides simultaniously, delivered by a single CV player blowing up full health BB's in a single strike says yes. I hated it when used against me in BB too, there is no escape from it. You just blow up. I used this all the time, others used it against me all the time. Ofc you needed to master that 1st, maybe not enough CV players did for stats to let that show up....doesn't mean i am wrong, the damage when succesfull was colossal. If you think back there is no way this has not happend to you.
-
True, i noticed i can even not only evade but outrun fighter consumable fighters ! They do hinder attacking ships below to reasonable extend though. I prefer to fly away and attack something else most of the time, when used by the enemy.
-
I think server statistics disagreed with OP's opinion. Too powerfull ships receive nerfs, too weak ships buffs. If a class is not used as it should be - support role for cruisers - they are probably all nerfed untill they do what they should be doing. Reduced stealth looks like that. Lobbing HE from stealth at BB is probably not what cruisers are supposed to do. The need to support DD capping by helping kill other DD and cruisers, and/or escort BB against DD and aircraft.
-
RTS could do MUCH more damage and truely dominate the match given oppertunity. Spotting DD i did then too at match start, never letting them out of my sight untill taken over by allied ships or i got attacked by other fighters. Perfect central point to intercept bombers from there too while being (very) usefull meanwhile. Still i don't miss it, as it could be pretty boring too even to a point i let CV float uselessly in port. Even sandwiching a BB between 2 torpedo walls resulting in its explosion while it had full health was a matter of indifference as map control of aircraft is not really engaging. So i don't want the old system back. And non-CV players that do want a roll back have the 3 second memory of a fish ! There were neverending whines about CV back then too.....While it is a terrible bad idea removing mechanics that result in other classes becoming more powerfull. All need to be kept in check, there should be a balance. CV were not played by enough players, nerfing them any further will accomplisch right that again. Despite the many CV players , trying the new stuff out that are terrorizing everyone right now. That will end all on its own, given some time.
-
That comes down to the "chinese" solution : do nothing and see if the problem goes away. Only if it does not, then do something about it. Rediculous as it sounds, it often does work. In this case the CV use falling back to normal levels. No action needed. Fine tuning and twaeks are always good, but based on statistics, not nerf screamers.

- CVs must be limited 1 per side = i agree - DDs need help in doing their job - capping = their own side CV and CC/CL are fully capable of doing this now !! CV can drop 1 minute fighter cover at cap protecting own DD and attack enemy with strike aircraft. 2 fighter cover with points invested. CC/CL can support with heavy FLAK and AA and cannon fire on enemy DD. Some even have own consumable fighters, 2 with invested points. CC/CL = Support class anyone ?? - we need spoting mechanics (for CV) as we have in WOT = i agree I agree too that WG essentially did made a good enough balance - if you really have knowledged yourself of all that is possible now, which few complainers did - but totally underestimated the player base ability to adapt to it. The mass is just shocked everything they used to do doesnt work so well anymore, and therefore all must be rolled back or nerfed. I do not wish to insult these players, but it isn't too bright is it ? Maybe WG aimed for the fact averyone adapts eventually, but some slower then others. It indeed seems a lot are slower adapting or initially even refuse to do so.

CVs about to get nerfed to the ground (yay, rejoice all CV haters)
Beastofwar replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
How did you dodge TORPEDO WALLS then in previous WOWS then ? CROSS FIRED FROM OPPOSITE SIDES BY 2 SQUADRONS CONTROLLED BY THE SAME PLAYER !!!!! Compared to that CV gameplay was nerfed to hell and back. Yet you complain ? I would like 1 strike kill any ship in game again.......but that was too powerfull. -
What do you like about patch 0.8.0?
Beastofwar replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
It is....mentioned DD player could outturn me every pass, while he was killing my aircraft one by one ( continuous AA damage of short/medium AA ) while i did everything possible to make tighter turns, make sudden opposite turns, speed up slow down, using islands to block AA and more. He still won the engangement, all on his own in a DD. I do not complain now DD rudders must be nerfed. Or smoke removed. I admire this players skills !! And then imagine i would have hit him with rockets......how much damage does that really do ? Of the 8 rockets fired 1 or 2 hit for very minor damage. It is simply not possible to sink a full health DD by rocketfire alone before at least sending 3 squadrons back to it. And that does not happen, as bigger ships with more powerful AA usually have closed in by then, and there is a CD on rocket fighters that are being serviced preventing sending them back without limit too. ( there are limits, aircraft cannot be launched with impunity ) You ( and most complainers ) are just overreacting big time, and by this your gaming experience suffers. You seem to be scared of your own shadow.... -
an idea for the CV spotting problem
Beastofwar replied to elblancogringo's topic in General Discussion
That is not true. When having passed the heavy long range cloud burst flak ( often instantly killing when hit ) you enter in continuous damage ( medium and short range AA ) bubble that always hit you. The longer you remain in there the more aircraft you lose. And killing much faster then in the old RTS mechanic way, where fighters could really hover over DD and took many minutes if left for the DD to chip away with their pathetic AA. By then they would already be sunk by allied shipping. So the situation has improved, but the rockets make it feel worse. -
an idea for the CV spotting problem
Beastofwar replied to elblancogringo's topic in General Discussion
That "hovering" would be multiple attack passes. It is part of the new mechanic as only 2-3 planes of the formation actually attack. To deliver all weapons like before in RTS mechanics you need at least 3 passes over the enemy. Right now one pass is already challenging for some ship types. Never being able to reach your target ( Co-op is like that currently, bots are better at AA then you ) ruiins all effort WG took to change CV play. If you always kill aircraft before they can do that, CV play is ruiined and the whole new mechanic broken. In that case they would have to bring back the old system that makes aircraft WAY MORE POWERFUL as they lauch a WALL OF TOPRPEDO"S in one go. Would you really want that (back ? I really hated that as a BB previously. And about hovering over enemy ships ( DD actually ) THE OLD RTS MECHANIC FIGHTERS DID THAT !!!!! Because spotting was one of the best things they could do for their team begin match, and they had no anti ship weapons. -
an idea for the CV spotting problem
Beastofwar replied to elblancogringo's topic in General Discussion
I like the idea of the WOT method of radio range too. At least that has something to do with how thing worked in the real war(s) and can be stomached by those that actually like CV gameplay. Ofcourse aircraft high in the air will still have some reasonably large radio range. But less then now. Previous RTS aircraft spotted DD and fleets for eveyone to shoot at too. It is the time they take to be over enemy ships that has changed. A slight launching delay ( like in RTS mechanic ) can already make a difference too. You can't nerf aircraft speed with FLAK and AA mechanics as they are. Without speed they will be shot down without any chance, robbed from oppertunity to go around strenghened AA sectors or position themselves in a good launching position as enemies full rudder evade. And that ruiins CV gameplay, which certainly isn''t an option either although many would not care. -

I also like : Crush your enemies, see them driven below you, hear the lamentations of their sinking and burning wrecks. -
WG piss their pants if they really see droves of players quitting. But i suspect this is not the case at all. As far as i read such mass complaining happend before, multiple times even, and nothing catastophical happend to the player base. Besides that you can't nerf any and all things just because a certain group or even individual doesn't feel invulnerable or powerful enough. What game would we have if they did this ?? WG without doubt monitors statistics and finetunes any inbalance from there. It's not like they announced WOWS only being available on mobile devices in future.....( nothing worng with game consoles joining in, if this was their motivation for the change )

I like : - Being right behind my aircraft overlooking their formation as they fly over the map, passing allied ships and islands under them. Visually very pleasing. - Aircraft have very enjoyable visual effects when they speed up ( speed haze ) with their special abilty. - Charging through long range heavy FLAK feels dangerous ( sometimes 1 shots entire squadrons in a great fireball ) and is visually threatening.( yes i know you can evade bursts too ) - Falling upon enemy ships that rush up to you filling your whole screen gives a sensation of a diving attack. Sometimes you barely clear their smokestacks/masts pulling out of the dive :-) - Hunting DD with rockets ( in fact duelleing with them as they do kill my aircraft too, and evade attacks ) - Mechanic where you can make several attack passes coming around, doing it again. Seeying the enemies doing evasive manouevres like they did in WWII footage from the air. - No more unfair fighter strafing mechanic advantages or unfair furball disengage mechanics for premium CV. - No more strafing multiple squandrons right out of the air in a singe good strafing run. ( disliked that even though i mastered it myself ) - Harder to run out of aircraft ( though it is still possible to have too few to succesfully attack a target ) so you cant have no planes and just move around having no value. - My ships hammering FLAK away at aircraft that crash down with satisfying vertical smoke trails, howling engines and splashes all around. - A new counter that tracks aircraft damage done by the ship's AA, besides only air kill ribbons. My guess is that number is worth XP and credits too. - Charging at hapless immoblie enemy CV that havent figured out yet they still have direct control over their ship Or can use autoplilot on the map. Or just are too distracted in ther aircraft. - No more unfair torpedo walls coming from 2 sides from 2 squadrons by the same player no escape possible ( though i regret that too when playing CV's, used it much ) - I appriciate the sector strenghening option, but havent really figured out it's benefits compared to leaving both sides 100 % as most aircraft do pass over and come around in tight turns if they have skill. -
This is a fact. Which probably has to do with how fast aircraft can light up the entire enemy fleet from start match now, and shell fire is sure to follow on those advancing and thus being in range. That changed the game balance too much, i agree. It has dawned on me that DD most probably not lament over being attacked and spotted by aircraft, - they always were - but their own spotting from steath as eyes of their fleet becoming utterly useless. This does cost them XP and credits for spotting , and damage from others upon spotting. And damage their pride i guess. If i were WG i would give DD submarines to sink with the depth charges already present on their decks. Then they will be critically needed again fot other things then fighting over caps. And some delay launching aircraft at map start would be a good thing too. These are far better changes that removing CV from the game.

When not selecting numbers ( all tied to squadrons now ) you are in direct control of your CV as a ship......or after pressing "F" You may be confused that before you pressed "1" to control your carrier. Now you are in direct control of your carrier when not in control of a squadron.....speed up, slow down, go left or right just like other ships. When having to evade torps shot at you by DD that sneaked through and pop up near you, or manouevreing through narrow passes in between islands you still need it :-)
