Soon there wil be a UK CV event...then there will be even more CV to choose from, and these will be marketed ofcourse. Not extinction...hyping and selling them ! But WG promised to reduce the amount of CV to 1 per side. That is really what disturbed the balance in game, the only WG choice that turned out to be great a mistake. Your life will be better with only 1 enemy squadron roaming the skies, your stealth will not be broken all the time if you have any skills, and you won't be under air attack all the time. But if discovered, not only cannon fire and torpedo's will be incoming but rocket aircraft aswell. I suspect with the brits you may even be the target of carpet bombing in smoke :-))))

I think some "rigging" is done by MM to prevent the really bad players to leave the game dissapointed because they only lose, and keep very skilled players challenged as they would be bored winning all matches. That would be in WG's best interest. Setting players up to lose ( without them having any chance ) cannot be in the best interest of WG. -

I think i would average between 30-40k as i am thrown in tier X a lot like others said too. If these tier X big ships pack together roasting some foreward scrawny DD with rockets is pretty much all damage i can get. That and having some fish off in a kamikaze run no one survives. Banzaiiii ! -
Land based bombers ofcourse. To do this to the enemy fleet.

When commencing the attack run the torpedo need time to arm. If you begin it too close to the target the torpedo will speed through the water but never detonate on your ship. Happens a lot to me because realeasing at the latest moment corrects some of the accuracy nerfs. Same goes for divebombers.....a lot of players were saved damage because the timer ran out waiting untill the planes already pull out of the dive and the bombs almost cannot miss. Like the feeleing of ramming bombs through the deck by accumulated dive speed too..... I know i can put assets into it, will see if that improves what i can do. I guess i am not the oly one doing this, so you will more often hear aicraft screaming toward you but not explosions. Then again if it does hit waiting untill the last moment, it hits well. Got 7 citadels in 1 match....which do appalling low damage, sadly. Having Ohka flying bombs in game, is that something for you ? -))) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yokosuka_MXY-7_Ohka

But that was unfair/unenjoyable for others due to : - premium CV with unfair advantages in air combat. ( disengage at will without losing aircraft ) - much more powerful fighters that would obliterate other fighters in a strafing attack if they started it simultaniously at each other. - Japanese could sandwich enemies between 2 torpedo squadrons, nothing these ships could do themselves to prevent that - premium CV with 1 bomb full heath ship killing divebombers. And much more since i don't own/used premium CV and do not even know all that they sealclubbed with. To not be sealclubbed you needed a lot of skill, learn to evade strafing attacks and jump these strafers while vulnerable. But that does not account for unfair disengagement advantages they often also had. Escort your bombers instead of protecting your allies. Prevent a strafer flying right through your attack wave of squadrons. Not really casual player friendly. I ofcourse can see why players enjoying this would want this back as they lost a lot of power and could really gain by being more experienced, more skilled players. But is that reasonable to other players ? Nope. You want that world back ? Who is gonna pilot your hapless targets then, ready to be sealclubbed again ? Look how they scream at CV that were first utterly castrated by the rework and then nerfing hotfixes !! What would they say about actual killing CV as they were returning ? WG could have just nerfed/tweaked that system....but they did not.

Another argument CV are nerfed too much : i (CV oriented player) sank a CV playing a DD (a class i am no expert in ) and even bagged 2 of its planes while hunting it across the seven seas, enemy ships were even near but could not rescue it timely enough. Took a rocket and an aerial torpedo and that did not stop me. That is the effect of the "hotfix" no doubt, as the CV probably struggled with low accuracy and low damage to defend itself. Who is the cat and who the mouse after this "hotfix" ? No DD player may complain, or they just lack skills. At least i admit i do lacks skills in DD, but this does not prevent me to sink a CV when i set out to do that. Says something about game balance, i think.

That is what smart players should do. Playing all classes so you know the mind of those playing those classes against you. Isn't that all about "Know your enemy and yourself" to not lose all battles ? You may even come to like a class you lothed, because you come to understand it's strenghts :-))

Well thats usable advise, been in CV too much i guess but that still leaves the problem of becoming too distracted of incoming fire from other ships or unable to deal that to them as you can't aim for enemy ships and switch sectors all at the same time. At least, that is what i expect. As a regular CV player - but also playing all other classes - i do not fear aircraft so much as others it may seem.....aircraft do little damage, have terrible accuracy and get shredded by multiple ship AA, even deplaning them after hotfix. The hotfix nerfs alone pratically made using sectors - let alone buff them with assets - not nessecary. -

Stenghtened sectors only really affect aircraft on 1st time approaching from a relative long distance away anyways in my experience. And that damage can be dodged completely ! A full hit is problematic though as you have your whole squadron heavily damaged and will lose all aircraft after lauching only weapons of 2-3 aircraft due to continuous fire AA. But even that can have you sunk if you had only a stripe of health left ! When aircraft come in range of medium/short range AA i doubt it will have much benefit having only 1 side strenghened and the other side weak as survivors can pass over these sides multiple times. You would have to switch all the time and i have tried that......only to not see coming multiple enemy ships had me in their sights..... So i only set defence one sided if its obvious aircraft will come from that direction begin game, but mid game i will switch it neutral. Not sure if that is worth spending assets on. It will not be if you decide to use AA cover of other ships.... -
But guys who will you attack in old skool CV's in a old skool subversion of the game ?? Bots ??? Surely there will be a large deficit in players in DD, CC/CL and BB players that want to leave the main game for this. Certainly not with their AA buffed and CV accuracy and damage nerfed. Complaining as they are, i expect most to stick with the programme. Or do you want CV vs CV battles ? Could be fun...but for a company to invest in this.....

I like the idea a lot, but it comes down to a nerf to the effectiveness of defensive AA of ships as you now know where to go to exploit it's weak side, and where to fly past other ships AA if you want to attack a ship on the other side. Besides what will you do if no sector is activated ? This is more something a single player game would have to control difficulty to the average player. One should hide his intentions from the enemy Sun Tzu says......

In my experience it has more to do by being thown in +2 tier matches then anything else. Tier 8 aircraft cannot handle tier X AA build ships with sectors active. You cannot go around either due to other ships AA range. Probably true for tier 6 aircraft in tier 8 matches. I havent experienced too powerfull AA at my own tier matches. But i don't see them much, probably by the decision to remove uneven tier CV closing that tech gap somewhat...... It's then only unenjoyable bad accuracy for example in operations that can weaken the team if not 1000 % effort is made, which is not very enjoyable - but exhausting - to play. -
WT is a very different game. I play it too, both enjoyable in their own way. I don't see how WOWS players will be getting used to WT ships if rework is already too much for them to handle......WT is essentially an aircraft game, adopted other modes later. What will happen in such a game if you want to sail ships but not see aircraft you think ?? :-)))

From perspective of the reciving and of flak this is all very true......when palying CV i attack lone, isolated ships. It is natures way....attack what is weak ( or dumb same thing ) and avoid what is strong. Even countries/gouvernements do that, that is why maintaining power balance is all important.

Uhm, wasn't that part of the Soviet Union previously ? Do they speak Russian or a very similar, derived from it language ? Then its Russian (enough) to me...ask any American, they will agree :-))) I still have trouble understanding where was Prussia, part of the Teutonic order lands and is now other countries. Poland likewise.....Borders seem to have shifted a lot in history, and probably always will. Former countries that were the Soviet Union, but not the Russian Federation...very complicated :-)

Operations : why do players not know what to do for 1-2 days ? ?

Just won in an Aegis operation - 4 star - with the whole team but one dead for more then half the match. In a CV..... I really had to work for it - with all these damned nerfs to torpedo accuracy - damaging these convoy escorts to extend they could be sunk, or kill them myself. Got 7 citadels from divebombing attacks but would not have made it without the excellent skills of the other remaining player actually protecting the merchants. That player used smoke well and killed what i could not kill due to CV accuracy and damage NERFS !! None of the merchants sunk, but ofcourse could not sink the required BB's for 5 star. But this was a rare exception in my experience...usually am overwhelmend if team dies too quick. I have rammed a bot DD before in a CV and won, or defended merchants with CV secondaries/dual purpose guns until the last millisecond and won......but that is coincidence, not good team play. Problem remains. More then half of players dying within minutes. This lasts seveal days, then suddenly improves. -
This.....2 torps was ok. But with a aiming window that goes wide with every correction, wide as a barn door and torpedo's going off in all sorts of angles except straight......yeah that is a problem. And this only as a reaction on tier X torpedo planes that were too effective. I hope they finetune it to be more enjoyable to use again.

You all seem to forget what sank the Yamato, what set the Bismarck up to be sunk, what sank and damaged the Itialian fleet.....aircraft do belong in this game. As does AA. If you want to play without aircraft, please select the proper period then.....tier 1-2.

It''s true....just like someone said with the heavy sniper rifles or other measures forcing campers to move, arced artillery fire to force campers to move, CV in our game to force campers to move..... Most complainers just lack skills - they are campers - and hate being forced to fight at more even odds. And you are right it will ruiin the game if they get their way and are allowed to cower and not support their team.

I havent even thought of that...ofcourse most players would have done that. But what will they say in forums when choosing other builds again and their AA weakens ? Another nerf to CV ?

I'm sure in the long run CV will be enjoyable to play and other ship players will adapt to their threat that will be tuned not to be too overpowering. But untill that time WG did blunder, for me especially with the hotfix that seems far too excessive and in my eyes even a panicked reaction to mass resentment of the changes. They ofcourse fear now their UK CV introduction event, full of sales, chests, ships will suffer because of this. Angry players do not buy as much. You can't hype stuff most players have come to hate. Swinging the nerf bat heavy handed ( 7 nerfs to CV ! ) right and left hitting some players and then again others is very inadvisable too. This only worsens the situation right ?
