    Some BB Tier10 tips against CV`s

    Ssssst, not another word ! Imagine they grow another brain cell ! Don't say that those fighters make me spend my fighter consumbale to get them gone. Sssssst.......Sssssssst. Not being able to kill solo warriors shuts me down in T IX-X games....what are you doing ? Actually when i see BB's coming in my direction that puts him prio 1 on my kill list. Never seen anyone stay close to a CV for AA, while indeed they have equal or even more AA power then a dedicated AA cruiser. I did however provide AA cover - with my CV ship itself - for heavy wounded allies trying to cap in the face of relentless enemy CV attack that would have sunk them. More then once. Nowadays i cap myself in such situations, having increased the ROF, range and accuracy of the secondary batteries of my CV which will kill any heavy wounded ship still lurking there.....if my aircraft not take them down first.

    All my ships have secondary enhanced builds, including my CV, because these secondary batteries deal a lot of (fire) damage to unarmoured targets like DD and CL. And i mainly enjoy playing Operations, and this is very powerull against scripted bots with predictable behaviour that like to push and fight close. Secondaries firing on softer targets free up my main guns to be pointed at other, tougher targets and therefore i am able to shoot at multiple targets simultaniously. Just as the RL Graf Spee did to Exeter, Ajax and Achilles. This can be very powerful, ofcourse this works best against bots that like to come close, but it also works in randoms against DD in range. Secondary build at the cost of fighting long range ofcourse, but i don't like that anyway. In bot games that is not often required anyway. Only downside to this is you have to be very carefull where torpedo's will come soaring toward. Torpedo's are stronger then secondaries, but secondaries kill when torpedo's missed...... - Normandie. This BB even has secondaries pointing over te bow ( 6km up to now, point 5 capt ) allows for very offensive play against multiple targets at once. ( just mind the torps when you do go offensive ) - Prinz Eitel Friedlich. This BB is very secondary heavy ( 7.2 km range, 10 point capt ) allows for very offensive play against multiple targets at once. - Warspite. This BB is very secondary heavy ( 7.2 km, 11 point captain ) allows for very offensive play against multiple targets at once. ( just mind the torps when you do go offensive ) - Graf Spee. Decent guns for killing cruiser fast, has reasonable secondaries ( 4.8 km up to now, 5 point capt ) and has torpedo's to deal with the T9 Izumo - All CV's. Aircraft are the main weapon, but many bot ships died by (fire) damage of the secondary batteries and multiple potential losing Operations were won by it, even if it were by seconds from distaster. They kill human DD in randoms too at ~5 km.

    I do adapt all the time. Today i had a devisioned all DD roflstomp in a DD and that went very wel for me despite Russian 4 km torpedo's, can you imagine that ? But i am tired of CV bashing when someone's tactical inflexibility is cause for crying nerf again. Just like @AirSupremacy said, enter submarines. Then we will listen to another nerf tune, probably just as annoying and misplaced but something diffrent then CV as sole target.

    The DD that rushes the cap always dies... If it is not being spotted by Strike Fighters and likely after some 10 seconds fired upon with very weak low damage rockets you want nerfed stil further, it dies from being spotted by other DD, radar, hydro, cruisers......... It is the stupid behaviour of DD that needs to change, if they dont want to die so fast.

    I struggle to kill DD for which i have to come back 3+ times and that never happens, they have either escaped or got killed in their usual way, by shell fire or ship torpedo's.... When i do kill DD they are always 1/4 health or less ( by fighting other ships ) and spotted by other ships. ( after the nerfs ) Even bot DD's in operations do not dy by my hand alone.....such nerfed are strike fighters.

    You cannot turn and not lose the target out of sight pal....that alone is one bad nerf You cannot guess the exact position where the dissapeared DD went, so when it pops back up you have to adjust course, widening your aiming reticule that is another nerf You cannot fire at the target for about 3 seconds (T8) after you come out of the shortest turn possible, that is a CV gameplay wrecking nerf And 4 other general CV nerfs such as speed, F recall and other nerfs affecting strike fighters. And what you say comes down to this : If a player is able to negate all nerfs working against him, his class must be nerfed again ! I really think you should reason that way about all classes in game, and what it will bring you. What should happen is DD players grow brains and sense of tactics. Storming into a cap and then getting deleted is not a reason to nerf other classes into oblivion. And what is next ? Divebombers with a bomb dropzone as wide as the map itself ? Just so they cannot hit DD anymore ?

    Introduced ? You even know what you are speaking about ?? There is already a very bad, gameplay spoiling nerf that does exactly this.....although T4 is not hindered by it, T6 is mildly hindered by it and T8 is greatly hindered by it. I do not play T10 but i guess it must be even worse then T8. It cannot be worsened or further nerfed ( Strike fighters were already hit by 7 nerfs affecting it ) without making strike fighters completely useless. How many times were you sunk by Strike fighters having full health ? 0 times that is how many times ! You only can be likely killed by strike fighters having less then 1/4 health, so never from a single squadron attack. In truth you were killed by cannon fire from other DD or cruisers. By being spotted. And by design they were meant to find and attack DD. They cannot do that on their own anymore after the nerfs, it is either find a DD or attack a DD that is spotted by other DD, cruisers or ships. Yet you cry for more nerfs ? Away with you. Playing a DD one should alter tactics, not cry for nerfs.

    Use a cheaper 7500 credit camo and choose 1 or 2 premium consumable - or consider going with the standard ones if you want to make credits - that is/are the most important consumables to you, not all of them. Then you would be ok.... Try CV economy...that is much worse, even if you would go with a grey unpainted ship.

    My most awesome victory yet : fighting alone and by CV secondary fire ! ( continious raging fire caused by secondary fire ) Tier IX Izumo's AA is too strong to use Tier VI aircraft, it just turns them into fireballs at takeoff. This time the CV as a fighting ship won. It almost seems impossible when you see the Izumo still has 1/3 health left in the picture, and the Rangers 4x127 mm can't penetrate it. But they did burn it down....i guess only in bot games though.

    Nurnberg has a nice damage output but it is one of the most fragile ships i have experienced in the whole game. La Gallissoniere is not far behind, just like all French cruisers below T8. In fact De Grasse is the only Premium ship i regret buying.

    Some more CV stuff

    I am trying to hit main gun turret roofs. Those have enough armour - even on cruisers - that AP bombs should not so easily overpenetrate, but are not thick enough to bounce or shatter. But the actual magazines you want to hit are next to those turrets in the bottom of the ship so it may be slightly the wrong area to try to hit. But since one often cannot be that accurate it is a good area to aim for i think. For this i always try to approach the ship from the bow or stern, in lenght. For the UK bombers you need to do that anyway if you want more then 1 bombs to hit. On top of that most heavy AA guns should not be able to fire 0 degrees or 180 degrees of the ship that well as they are usually mounted on the sides or midships of the ship. No idea if that is modelled for long range flak, in each case that won't work for the mid-short range AA aura.

    Practice......

    Coop, Operations, Random and Ranked each have their own specific skill requirements. I see many Random/Ranked players perform like hopping noobs in Operations. You will have to learn about and adapt to all game modes to do well in them. Bot games will learn you to aim accurate and kill fast, as they come in waves and push hard. And shoot pretty accurate too if you don't kill them quick enough. In randoms it is more about learning human behaviour, their use of tactics and them using specific ship ablities against you. And so you should learn to do in return.
  15. After i scouted in the first minutes of a match i know where the enemy CV was as i have spotted it, and it is marked on my minimap in faded grey as last known position. That is enough to go by most of the time, many times they are still there end match. When i can get to it without losing my aircraft i will find it anyway.
  16. Did you read what i said ? I have the T4 and T6 bundles.....and still i have ~100 crowns too many and ~2500 florins too few for the T8... I expected never to have enough, encouraged by opinions on this forum and spend the florins....but seen the state of my crowns i'm not so sure anymore you can never reach 2500 florins without buying a lot more. Maybe the forum members can calculate just as "accurate" as politicians....

  18. I have 250 crowns after i got the T4 and the T6 - so 100 more then needed for T8 - and no florins. I wonder if i had not spend the florins if it would have been enough for the T8. I spend the florins because i expected not to make 2500 anyway, but now i'm not so sure. I missed getting the Gallant in such a way too.

    Fire turned out to be easy with the right ship(s), hitting 1000 x with main guns turned out to be easy with the right ship(s) but killing 15 seems tougher because in Coop others "steal" your kill all the time. I'm sure by friday it will be done without even trying and in normal random games but still....i want his over and play other ships. I tried torping the bots for fast completion of the mission but fast cruisers are on my tail all the time, bagging "my" kills. If only they gave such "support" in randoms....lol

    I totally forgot Fiji had smoke.....had a fighter installed instead of it. Now that it has smoke that 1000 main gun hits won't be so long winded anymore :-)) 323...thats better then the few dozen you get from a BB.

    Your Favourite CV: tier for tier

    Up to now Lexington proves itselfs the most deadly ( 12 x 127 mm ) when using secondary battery guns to sink damaged DD and other CV. Therefore it is my favorite. Although the Shokaku seems to have a much more protected citadel and and heavier armour belt. Both have the means to eat some torpedo's - not running but attacking so bow first - and live long enough to kill the DD. CV to CV surface battle does not include aircraft, these are shot down by the no-fly-zone AA of CV so you better have better range, ROF and accuracy secondaries then the opponent. Such things may not hold value to most players, as they seem not to recognise the potential, or think such oppertunies are too rare...but they can be vital in end games where only CV or a heavy damaged DD remain and that happens more often then some think. Few players understand that most CV's outgun a DD two to three times, and these secondary batteries can sink another CV all on their own if you can bring them in range. If you have invested in secondary batttery ROF, range and accuracy it will pay off in such cases. But the hardware needs to be there.....the lexington seems best suited for what i have experienced. T6 CV often have to do with 6x 127 mm, still good for sinking DD but 12x is better :-))

    I though little of "1000 hits of main guns" but now i'm doing it i recon it will take a lot of time......bots die too fast and randoms are perticular dangerous being deleted - certainly with guns continuously blazing to meet mission objectives - before you can get a good number up. Why oh why are operation excluded ? Now i can't play my favorite game mode and have to suffer 1 nation for a long time.

    Yeah i saw that often too.....you see 4 devisioned clan members and think " a coordinated team, they will surely perform a 5 star" and then they behave just like other noobs that sink in minutes and waste your time. Most "clans" just seem a band of noobs. Clan tags, unicum stats ...these don't mean anything in Operations. What happens the first 4 minutes will indicate whether they are utter worthless noobs or worthwhile players. Actually some indication of stronger Operations players seem to be they DONT have clan tags.....
