    After death retaliation from CVs

You missed all screenshots of my CV secondaries sinking about all classes by rapid HE fire at ranges up to ~ 7 km ? Including rival CV's with large hitpools ? Especially DD since they were not protected by nerfs agianst that yet ? Too bad... I guess in a few months you will deny that i was one of the first ones that said this is a potent weapon in it's own. And will state this is logic and self-explanatory and i could never have come up with that but some leading YT'er did, which you always follow, including mandatory builds.

89 rockets (and a bomb) to destroy a single DD....

I meant bullies teaming up on other individual players in game. Sealclubbing. Presenting those wins as skill. Not teaming up on me here, i know that is the price for unveiling the truth of what is normal here. "important" forum members demasked as frauds...that will hurt. So flaming a guarantee. But i am still not impressed. In game we will see what is what, but even i cannot sink a whole gang of focussing on me. That is why it is called cowardly.

89 rockets (and a bomb) to destroy a single DD....

Yes i consider that. I weigh words said if they are not outright personal attacks with (ab)use of stats. But ganging up on other indiviual random players bullies peacocking their stats, thinking that gives them their opinion have more weight then others ? No ofcourse not. Their stats are fraudulous, why would i ever even consider the rest of what they do ?? The very first thing to do when wanting to be taken seriously is remove any stats from your signature. How can one reason with an obvious peacock, doing anything ( inclusing cowardly ganging up on random individual players ) to get those stats ? Waiting for a lock btw.....i can take you lot on, but flaming wars is probably not wanted in these forums.

You guys will merely succeed in having the thread closed. But that still not makes you right. I am also not impressed by bullies teaming up on others. It is cowardly.

89 rockets (and a bomb) to destroy a single DD....

My point is/was these stats are unreliable at best. I am flamed when i point out in another threat those that peacock with stats the most were caught red handed by divisioning up rolling over hapless individual players in randoms. By what standards is a from of sealclubbing skill ? Stats do not mean you are right. If that were the case CV were removed from the game by now. Sorry.

    After death retaliation from CVs

But in WG's opinion ( i guess ) the player IS the aircraft. The player does not die unless the aircraft he is in die. The CV just acts as a movable respawn platform. If the movable respawn platform dies, the player can no longer respawn. That is the mechanic now, not unknown to many other games with destroyable/cappable/removable respawn points. And what you describe is the best case scenario for the CV.....when he saw it coming, had a full fresh squadron lauched in time and went looking for a little payback that succeeded. This is not always the case....many times the CV does not know they are under attack untill too late to act. If the CV explodes when the player is right at that moment entangled in a nasty and difficult attack somewhere else at the map he cannot respawn and will probably be removed from the match quite sudden after AA kills him. This player can also choose to complete his current attack above returning in time for a last stand launch aswell. Another scenario is that the CV player does see it coming but does not have a full sqaudron of effective aircraft anymore. And indeed it's 2 minutes, i killed many DD in those 2 minutes that killed me before i upgraded the secondary batteries. Now that never occurs anymore, the secondaries chew them up at ~7 km. But if this DD has a large health pool left it might escape even payback, as the aircraft detach after dropping weapons, and dropping the last one remove the player from the match too. I don't know why they added this but they did it by design, i don't think they will change it. It makes being defeated with a CV more bearable and irritates/humilates the enemy that did it. What can you say ? Most players will be the victim of it much more then they will use it, unless you play CV as a dedicated class....i'm pretty sure not much players do that. So practically everyone is at the receiving end. It is just the risk you run going up against CV. No one said they should be defenceless like baby seals what ? And by what you say you didn't yet run into players like me......with "stachelschwein" upgraded and buffed secondary batteries that won't let you even come near the CV, and kill surprisingly fast contrary to useless stock secondaries no one fears. Did you ever realize a ship like the Lexington has 12 x 127 mm to each side of the ship ? If these are buffed to somewhat the range, ROF and accuracy of a DD with such guns, you get the picture of what that will do....

89 rockets (and a bomb) to destroy a single DD....

There never will be a solution to those that cannot ( or don't want to learn to ) think in 3D, and want anything that is high above the waves or under it removed or never introduced. Their limited, inflexible mind can only apprehend threats at a horizontal level. That is probably the real reason they hate aircraft and do not want submarines, as other valid reasons seem absent.

    Converting Crowns into something useful.

I hope i will be able to sell the T4 UK CV then....
  10. Another great example how you produce "super unicum" stats. There is nothing wrong with doing this of course, the game let's you do this. There is something wrong when you show off stats while you got them this way AND comment on other players that don't play this way they suck at the game.

89 rockets (and a bomb) to destroy a single DD....

Team play does not get you through the tech tree......billions of credits to be made.......doing damage and getting many ribbons for various actions does, even when losing. I make 400k credits losing too when i do good damage in randoms. That is why i play it in the first place, i like operations much more. It is a choice of the games designers not to include rewards for specific team play, so all you say may be nice gameplay but is not needed from the game's progression point of view. For a fact i do use cooperation for my own benefit but it is ,ostly not voluntary or asked. The DD that rushes a cap and finds another DD there want to engage in "honorable" knife fight combat. I see that on my minimap and will be over that enemy DD that is perma-spotted by the allied DD so i won't lose it out of sight. With combined damage that enemy DD will probably be killed and that is a good thing for the team but : 1) a kill that i could not have made myself due to nerfed damage and spotting 2) both DD players are angry/irritated because their "honorable" knife fight was interrupted and had an unfair ending 3) allied DD feels robbed of a skillfull kill 4) enemy DD feels CV should be removed because the fight became unfair So much for cooperation or teamplay there. Leave that to ranked or clan matches where it belongs.

    DDs are not sacrificial penguins!

And i keep repeating it : no single squadron kills a DD by itself. That takes fire from other ships ( so you were really careless in the DD to be in that position ) or that squadron coming back for half of the match. WG nerfing hotfixes have quite done job on aircraft - except HE divebombers but i guess they will be hit next with th nerf bat - if you are still "sacrificed" you should reconsider your tactics.....

Never thought I'd miss the toxicity of WoT

Yeah i have seen that but it seems to have lessened as of late. Maybe because they now know CV's are there to stay and won't be removed and possibly not nerfed further. But (threatning to ) reporting you for supposed poor play happens all the time. Even when you turn up later with say 2200 points in the rsults screen at position 1. Just ignore them i would say. 0 Karma for a CV player is quite normal :-))))

Never thought I'd miss the toxicity of WoT

Lol i had that experience too when a friend didn't want to play WOWS any longer but wanted to return to WOT. We were executed.....didn't recover after a few games either. We both stopped again out of pure frustration. Not the game we thought we had left back then. It's not even the reflexes....after some rounds adapting to the pace i can still shoot random players in CS first when they run in my face from around a corner for example. And it must have been decades ago i really played that game intensively......So there is something going on in WOT we better not have copied here in WOWS....

89 rockets (and a bomb) to destroy a single DD....

Killing aircraft does not even give proper direct reward per shot aircraft, or per amount of damage they took. So who would even use air supriority fighters if there is barely XP/credit return for the effort ? Indirect XP/credits ( by helping the team win ) is not good enough. It should always pay directly to be of interest. It was that way in RTS too if i recall correct, making too much use of fighters without striking ships would yield vey poor rewards. That is why swapping CV builds for pure air supriority ( 3 x fighters ) was very unpopular. I have seen it used only once. Don't want Air Supriority fighters, stripped of their strike weapons if the reward for killing/damaging aircraft is not completley revised/redesigned. I know that shutting down an enemy CV is very powerful but i would not do that ( waste my time on it ) without direct XP credits rewards.....per shot down/damage aircraft.

Never thought I'd miss the toxicity of WoT

Just like others said : Play a CV and make a kill, especially hitting a magazine with torpedo's or AP bombs so it blows up unexpected and shocks the enemy team. Not by the fact it is uncommon, but by the fact in their eyes CV may not have such power....perfectly normal and acceptable a DD does that...for some reason beyond me. Or.... Be in a losing team when bedtime has not passed yet for the school going kids.....or you deal with psycho adults..... Then you get the activity you seem to miss...... But to be honest...there are enemes complimenting you after a worthy fight too. Even DD players that were killed by my strike fighters after a long hunt focussing only that DD. Since most are blinded by hate for aircraft, that is very noble and civil thing to do. Never seen that in WOT indeed, certainly not when sending an artillery shell on some ones tank roof.

How do you aim those rockets

When i fire from the bow or stern i will miss most rockets, DD are very sleek and narrow ships .....missed rockets do no damage. When i fire to the broadside of DD many (5+) rockets per attack run hit. They cannot be aimed more precise so chances are some will go into the superstructure, wreck modules and/or start fires. So a very small chance to do major damage or a very good chance to do module wrecking, starting fires and shooting rockets into it's superstructure. What would yield the most DPM you think ? Btw : when i used Tiny Tim's and fired 10 of them into a DD ( 54k dmg to a 12,5 K HP boat ) that survived these forum members told me that was wrong and i should use them only against larger ships. Or better yet use US divebombers exclusively, abandoning al other nations CV's. Now i use HVARS and that is wrong because i should use Tiny Tims ? Do you guys like to reverse yourselves every week ? The truth is all rockets are doing low damage to DD, because they were specificly nerfed against DD. And the same will happen to dive bombers. If TiT's would do their proper 5400 dmg ( you fire 2 of them so 10.8 k per attack run x 3 attacks = 32.4 k ) we would not have this conversation. You could blow up 2 DD with 1 squadron, not shoot 10 TiT's at a single indestructible one.....or 89 Hvars and a bomb for that fact.
  19. Beastofwar

How do you aim those rockets

    1) Begin attack run to where you think the DD will go, most of your aiming should be before you click the attack button. 2) Make only slight mouse aim corrections on approach ( no keys ! ) 3) Almost there do not correct anymore, to allow the aiming reticle to be maximum accurate 4) Shoot Contrary to what @Bear_Necessities says, who is mostly on the receiving end and knows little of the art, the most succesfull attack with most hitting rockets is broadside because rockets spread out. Shooting coming from stern or bow will have most rockets miss. But you don't have to aim for broadside, the slippery DD will evade and present it to you often anyway.

    DDs are not sacrificial penguins!

I never heard the option to cooperate with your own sides CV ? Surely with those hated but in this case friendly strike fighters or HE divebombers above your head ready to strike all that pops up in the cap together with your shells and torpedo's will bring victory and a succesfull cap....with or without the occasional fighter consumable deployed to protect you. That is what it means to advance supported too.....can be a formation of cooperating DD, can be a Cruiser, can be CV aircraft....support. But noooo....nerf CV...make them useless because i don't use them and they hurt meeeee....

89 rockets (and a bomb) to destroy a single DD....

I don't find it that easy, but i didn't take the 4 captain point aiming skill that 7 nerfs/3 hotfixes ago seemed to do little or nothing. Now with all the nerfs/changes without being able to change my Captain without costs i am unsure this is the cause. It may well be because i am able enough to do very well in T8 CV's. But i can only find out during the 2nd free captain skill reset.

    DDs are not sacrificial penguins!

I know for a fact that is not true per definition. I patrol/bee line all caps at match start. So if there is only 1 DD per side his chance is 100 % caught and attacked. If there is 2 DD only one will get caught, but if he smokes i continue the patrol ( useless to hang around ) so if there's more they will be caught too. Ofcourse i will e back when the smoke clears to have a looksee where that DD went. Missing DD are dangerous for my CV ship..... To OP : don't rush caps unsupported. No nerf is going to keep you alive when you are in a cap unsupported, and that goes for game without CV just the same. Get spotted ( by anything ) and come under atttack. That simple. When i say "bee line" that is a describtion of how i avoid being shot at by (AA) cruisers. That means if you stay are near such a cruiser you are safe. Now, if you want to cap and be safe, have that cruiser follow you, or keep near it when it advances to a cap, they usually do. Can't ask for nerfs or removal of CV because this is the way it should work. Rushing to cap unsupported = risk ( or stupidity )
  23. Lol... But it was used IRL and early in the war or when the attacking DD was chasing other Subs in a wolfpack and thus was hasty worked but maybe a better translation to the game would be lose contact for 20 secs but only if the sub is not cavitating so hydro picks it up, or it it being gauged by ASDIC or Sonar. Good for WWI subs, and a gamble for early WWII ones. Useless for late war ones. Considering that, why does hydro pick up DD's in smoke that a stationary and amkes no cavitation noise ? Rotating steam turbine vibrations as these probably need to be standy/can't be shut down in a jiffy ? Anyways a Submarine with stopped E motors should not be able to be picked up that way.
  24. My personal experience : -At T4-T6 you may attack enemy CV but at the cost of loss of almost all your aircraft, and being tied up to that single target for almost all of the match doing it, you will have to detour around enemy ships with powerfull AA on the way there because if you don't your already shot up aircraft won't even get close to the enemy CV.. Enemy CV won't go down quick because your damage output is low. (nerfed too) So long traveling times ( = low DPM ) , low damage = not really to be recommended. However....CV become more powerful and influencial when enemy ships HP goes down, AA modules are busted by the fighting, a lot have sunk and they get scattered on the map. It is a tactical investment to remove that threat, although your teammates might complain, as they expect you to do recon or hunt the enemy DD...but if it was a weak player piloted CV you might have denied your team valuable assistance. -At T8 you should not attack enemy CV until very late game. Their AA is too powerful ( 60 AA guns for the Shokaku for example ) and when they have invested any AA module or captain points they blow you away without you doing any damage at all. CV's are the most powerfull AA ships afloat, and have automatic fighter patrols to boot. So in general : do not go up against enemy CV. If they are the only ones left alive you can throw your aircraft at them, as there is no waste of attack power that could be more efficiently used at another target. You will however pay for every lost aircraft under "service cost" so being deplaned at T8 will cost you a fortune. Inadvisable if you care for positive numbers in credit income. What i do - this is probably controversial in many players eyes - is use my ship itself to hunt surviving enemy CV and blast them with secondary batteries. The Tier 8 ones have pretty impressive firepower, if you invested in a secondary battery module and/or captain skills you have rapid fire HE spamming guns that will quickly bun down anything at reasonable ranges ( ~ 7km ) And ofcourse you can attempt end it all with a ram, that is rediculously enough without cost while throwing your aircraft at it will bankrupt you....This is no theory craft, i have done this with succes an do this still when the oppertunity arises. But it is not always recognized as a valid tactic by miniature brain that want to report you when attacking few HP DD or CL with your ship itself. See that as suicide that will hurt the team. They are wrong, but they don't know that. That will take some pre planning, speeding to it's hiding place before all enemy players are dead. But if these leftover enemy ships in the way and have but few HP left you can clear them out of the way easily yourself with aircraft attacks. Alternatively in a situation that only a enemy CV remains that prevents your sides ship taking a crucial cap by relentless air attack you can speed there with your ship and provide powerful AA cover and/or cap yourself if these allies ships might sink. With above mentioned strenghtened secondary batteries + aircraft you can even attempt taking a crucial cap if there is still a concealed enemy there that you know has not many HP left. CV have a lot of HP, torpedo bulkheads, so if you make sure a torpedo salvo is not full broadside you will survive it and be able to sink any DD or light cruiser at that cap. How powerwful is this ? Well my T6 Ranger has sunk an Operations 1/3 health T9 Izumo with fire damage from the secondary batteries alone. ( 0 penetrations ) It will kill shot up ships quick enough, if in range.
  25. Many "heavy cruisers" often had only heavier guns but due to the Washington Naval Treaty restricting tonnage did not have armour able to withstand it's own size guns. So they are light cruisers with heavy guns. Not always well armoured. That terrible Pensecola was the first i really noticed that with, but the French have some too. In game that doensn't matter much as you will be shot by Battleships and Battlecruisers those cruisers would IRL avoid ( in daylight that is ) and in game burned down by any ship. Cruisers were meant to outgun anything they could not outrun, and outrun anyhting they could not outgun. So the game really put's them in a situation RL cruisers would speed away from losing their persuiers in the vast expanses of the seas. We have map borders....lol.
