    Yeah that could have been very well common RTS tactics. But i have not seen it done in matches after CV rework where i was present. So the hint could help at least T VIII CV players to get higher scores if they should struggle...or do something else then usual. Removing Cruisers may not be that a bad idea for team effort either.....these are dangerous DD killers and BB burners too.....

    If they get to live and go "missing"" they are VERY dangerous indeed. Not rarely they manage to wipe out a part of the team. Or pop up near the CV, although the skilled ones wouldn't.

    There is nothing wrong with him trying his best at CV. It is just funny how he pretends to still be a ""fellow" DD player telling others how CV are no cause to complain while he mass whacks them, the very thing those DD players complain about. He can be compared with this post to a vulture circeling a field, telling the rabbit in it's hole not to be scared and come out because all is safe now......

    I love how OP says "fellow" DD players.....to put that in perspective go have a looksee in his boasting CV match result screens how many rockets he is firing on DD/how much damage he does to them.....i don't think any DD player will consider him a "fellow" DD player after realizing what he does. This guy has gone over to the other side, realizing his stats woudl be better in a CV then in a DD after CV rework....and now is telling DD players to L2P......probably because he fears running out of easy targets, as larger ships actually shoot back....

    In my experience boost accelerating away NOT in a straight line ( blind evading ) does help somewhat when you enter the outer medium-heavy long range AA rings to exit their AA zone. You can't see the FLAK coming ( although you can reverse your cam view ofc ) from behind but AI won't be able to predict your course either. When FLAK clouds hits it will be a RNG thing, not a predicted shot.

    How is concealment rated on CVs?

    Never understood how you can hit anything without torpedo acceleration because most aerial torpedo''s are gruesomely slow and you can't stay in position like a DD and wait for a reload if they miss...... That is a skill i consider to be "mandatory" as it gives less time for rudder shift effects. Especially some French BB have notorious fast rudder shift time which they might even have increased with a module....you have very little chance to hit if you have no torp acceleration. Some German battlecruisers with rudder shift module - i chatted with one that kept evading all my torps, he admitted he had a module - are hard to hit as well...even with torp acceleration. But i only play T8 CV tops...i have no experience with long range torpedoing. That requires not taking that skill i guess.

    Graf Zeppelin underperforms. Please fix it.

    It closes the reticule by estimation a quarter of a second to half a second faster. It could help somewhat if you are correcting aim all the time, what comes down to very heavy handed play. But not al that much, it is a very slight difference. With a very slight mouse movement correcting hand, correctly guessing target course so you won't have to correct that much, and some decellerating if nessesary for more time to target you can easily do without and not be punished for not taking it at all. I have tried it for 3 extended periods during free reskill oppertunities and found it to do nothing for me. This is more or less "proven" for me being able to do 100+k damage with captains in retraining proces with all their skill either shut down or cut to 50 %. Most skills, including ones that make 5% to 10 % differences in already low value's are grossly overrated.... Then again it's not only what you do, but what other players do with skills as well. If they do not take AA skills, means you as CV player taking skills that protect against that become less critical aswell. You can't count on that, but overall in a period with CV everywhere it is likely more players invest heavy in AA skills. When CV use dwindles it is more likely they take other skills that are more useful to surface combat. That is a good income source for WG as well....respeccing with the flow of the game. And WG is the one that upsets the flow on purpose, as it generates income.

    ADD DD COUNTERPLAY to CV

    Kill a CV with a DD ? Better sneak up to a parked one unseen and do not raise any alarms by lauching prematurely or at long range. If you want to succeed it has to be very close and personal, most CV players seemingly did not take points into secondaries and these won't fire untill you come as close as 4 km which should be enough for good torpedo accuracy. Those torpedo salvo(s) will have to insta-kill with almost no CV player reaction time, or squadrons will be lauched, CV starts to pick up speed and secondaries wil be focussed/trained on you. And ofcourse there is the revenge kill......even if you survive your little battle with a CV, actually sinking it, it may have launched aircraft that may be flying around for another 3 mins. These often kill the killing DD....making it taste ashes in the mouth. All in all smart DD should probably not hunt CV, and even if the CV is the last surviving ship it is dangerous to do so. But not impossible. Nothing is impossible.

    I am curious for this myself as i have always taken the +replenishment/+2 aircraft on the deck module and other skills. Hiding behind an island very near the enemy lines will have the diasadvantage it is very easy for an enemy DD or cruiser to come around that island and torpedo you, while you have less free vectors to choose to escape those torpedo's. In open sea, on the move and able to change to any course torpedo's rarely hit.....parked behind some island they more probably will hit as you will be a sitting duck if someone manages to jump you...islands do offer others visual cover too.... The enemy has spotting CV aircraft too, so ofcourse they know you are there if you go close to the front lines. Afterall CV can find a stealthy by design DD with that concealement skill in open sea too......a CV is not a DD, so they know you are there. I have never seen a CV go "missing" and popping up somewhere you would never have expected it to be able to go......not a DD, far too large for that and conceal bonus too low for it's size to make much difference. However....I could see use for enemy ships having less time to evade incoming attacks from longer concealed aircraft.....some are really good at keep on turning in such manner not all torpedo's can hit when you come in slow and/or they can see you coming for ages...

    Yet some DD sometimes kill a squadron of mine, especially in transit....so this is not right. Yes ? What did you expect immunity ? Not even AA cruisers or CV ( some with 98 AA gun barrels on them...) have that. Yes ? What good are dedicated AA cruisers when there is no CV in the match ? Their performance will be considerable lower. It is a choice you make..... WG sells these as premiums....i have the impression they sold rather well, while without AA targets not being that great ships at all..... Most of these post just want the CV removed from the game or shut down from doing any damage to them/disrupting their little plan. It is very doubtful WG will ever do that, so you might aswell think of some strategy or tactics that do work with the equipement, captain skills, modules an such you do have....

    Another thing you could do is use a DD with a lot of dual purpose guns and go FULL and i mean every single AA captain skill and module on it......so no usual DD concealment crap - useless for you anyway if you are killed by CV all the time - but every single AA skill and module there is. The most frightning AA cruisers use those dual purpose "DD guns" too afterall...DD just have less of them, but can put up quite some show. I think some DD players actually do that, i encounter sometimes DD that can kill my ( Kaga/Graf Zeppelin ) squadron passing them on their way to another target. Quite the little mini-AA cruisers they are. You know the German have used bait- AA submarines to do just that ? Blast allied aircraft out of the sky by surprise that were hunting surfaced submarines ? The idea in it self isn't that bad...as long as it works...

    CV apologists will tell you to remain near a cruiser of battleship at match start.....if you ever decide to do that, you will notice you will not come under air attack, and if you come under air attack these aircraft will be shot down. There is no reason for you to rush foreward unsupported when there are CV in the match....what are you doing there with CV in the game ? These CV do all the early match spotting, and do it faster an better then you can in a DD. And more important for you : they are also on a search& destroy mission and usually attack any DD they find. Why should they find you while doing something useless being near defenceless without support ?? So you say you were rushing to a cap.....no need to be in there right after match start either. Any ship can take a cap when local supriority is won ( read : you can enter it under protection of supporting ships ) the only thing nessesary is the enemy not taking it. But with CV's in the game no enemy DD will do that unspotted either...and shot at by all ships in gun range.... So when you don't want to be killed, don't be alone and away from more powerful AA. Because what you are doing now is "I want to rambo anything alone, give me an AA mini-cruiser" and that is not how the game works. In fact all classes, including CV , that solo alone away from others are killed.... If you are hellbent on still rushing a cap with CV in the game, then ask an AA cruiser to come with you and do not go to far away from it. You can do this without WG changing anything.

    Luckily there are better CV players then you and your stat cult buddies....fighting last stand battles with me late match instead of cowardly fleeying using endless ineffective airstrikes, making the game enjoyable, playing it to full potential. The fact that i lose these secondary enganments tells me the abilities of secondary batteries are not being neglected by more serious CV players....

    I have been killing DD since rework, then often from full health to sinking .....scrawny is the only word i have for their reward in XP and credits. Or even match tickets..... The only consideration why i even try to find them is because they usually sink team ships when ignored......

    DD's are too poor XP/credit reward to club for too long....i spot/damage the ones i find in my first recon patrol to map the enemy fleets heading ( service to the team, might make a win more probable so service to myself too ) and then switch on to more serious XP/credit income by attacking more serious ships with more serious weapons. You need to shove a lot of torpedo's into BB and a lot of bombs into Cruisers to get anywhere near normal Cruiser/BB damage. So yeah..low damage. I rarely kill DD with aircraft anymore, at least not myself. My spotting and initial rocket damage kills them, because other ships shoot at them but someone else gets that red ribon when it comes to scrawny reward DD and that is fine by me. The only DD' that get killed by me...well i do not have to explain anymore do i ? You know what weapons will be accountable for most of the disposing of near to my CV DD.

    But this game is loosely based on reality, and so it WOT. You all stubbornly IGNORE that real ships had ( and still have ) weapons meant to kill fast small targets, so DD should not even be able to get near big ships. They can only do so in this game because in general secondary guns ( range, accuracy ) are castrated and torpedo's ( range ) are not. So any resemblance of what light tanks are able to do to artillery in WOT stop right there. Artillery had close defence weapons but usually only to attacking infantry. Then again IRL they probably were protected by infantry at their location, something completely missing from WOT ! In fact, IRL CV's are of such import all the ships around them serve it as a screening force. They do not get to rambo around, they SERVE the CV ! In this game ? Meh everybody plays the hero and gets all worked up if they get caught alone with their pants down....and rightfully explode or sink. You complaining guys should insist WG brings that bathtub BB game mode back...this is meant for you !

    That is accumulating low damage over a whole match mounting up to a substantial amount. That is the way WG meant it to be. I meant insta-deleting damage per salvo/strike/launch. All ships can do that to certain class other ships that were (almost) full health. CV can not, the only rare exception being a very lucky RNG hit to a magazine, but that all other class ships can do too.

    No CV assists all...... Compared to other classes CV suffer low damage per strike. Rockets, bombs, torpedo''s...they do laughable, pityful low damage. This is made up only by being able to strike virtually everywhere at any time, and often many times per attack. How many times aircraft can make multiple attack runs per launch on you is connected to how serious you took AA skills and fitting an AA module....if you did not because those are "wasted" points/module slots then do not complain.....because they are not. That is why aircraft are hated, not for their insane damage. If you flank me in a T6 or T8 CV with a DD you will most probably die, many have done that and few survived* * You do not face only aircraft but secondary guns going from 5.6 up to 9 km range, with a ROF as fast as 3.4 seconds ( the DERP 203 mm ones on Kaga being the slowest with 15 sec ) and improved dispersion and fire chance.....While some redicule this, their "proof" being low kills by secondaries they do not realize every DD that was killed near me received considerable damage by those secondaries. That a final rocket or fire was the ultimate cause of death does not mean these secandaries are harmless, or useless......

    I would agree on making AA killing much more aircraft on approach, giving ships a chance to escape all incoming damage if : - Aerial torpedo's get the damage their size warhead should cause compared to DD torpedo warhead size.....so no pityful 1.5k hits but 6-11 k per torpedo depending on it's size and power. That will mean if a strike comes through DD and Cruisers get instantly deleted and BB will be deleted if they were not full health. This is what RTS CV were, more or less. It is all or nothing then, and WG chose not to do this. So first attacks (almost) always get through, but the damage it does is modest save some exceptions as a magazine detonation. Citadels on a BB look like overpens except fot teh balck ribbon, that is not modest but tear drawing low dmg. - CV players do not have to pay for lost aircraft The amount is mentioned mouse over "Ammunition resupply". It would be quite unfair if CV were to go bankrupt on one sided increased ( AA ) power to completely stop them always without getting some damage/score in return. Such unbalance will never happen.

    It should not work since AA seems to be perfect circles but i have come to experience approaching ( AA ) Cruisers from the bow or stern at boosted top speed only to release boost when starting the dive, then dropping closed reticule bombs on them ( over the ships lenght ) has devastating effects. Cruisers in general do not have that high of a health pool.....1-2 divebomber launches is usually enough to dispatch even the toughest of them, or faster depending if the surface fleet is not camping behind some ridges unable to shoot them also. I do not usually use torpedo's on cruisers ( too slow on a too long approach ) since most will be evaded, unless i see one beaching himself or lying still in smoke being detected by a team mate thereby killing themselves as they are dead in the water for a full spread of torpedo's to hit. I have been avoiding Cruisers for a while as they shot down many of my aircraft and that hurts credit income, but they have come to adapt tactics screening BB from air attack, as they should. This means you will have to remove them before you can splash good damage torpedo's into large hitpool = potentially farming high damage, plump BB's. Also surface ships palyers seem unaware or do not care to remove Cruisers first, to allow their CV to be more effective. This does affect their precious "WR" but they seem confident they do not need CV, or have the opinion CV are useless anyway, but do rage against the enemy one damaging them....In other words...teams cannot be depended upon to remove anything, so you have to do that yourself most of the time. AA cruiser or not. So that is a case of pain before gain, but by no means AA cruisers can assume they are beyond being vulnerable themselves. They really are, at some costs. Quite funny is the chat some of them start pointing out how many aircraft i lost on them.....this does not interest me when they sit on the bottom of the sea while i am busy torpedoing what they thought were protecting....

    it is not too difficult getting 100 K damage in all T VIII CV if you can get your torpedo's and bombs to actually hit - even in a losing match* - but it has become quite difficult to get over 130 K. After rework, 200+ K was achievable....In surface ships 200+ K damage is far easier achievable. *

    WG: FIX SE on CVs

    I think that was pretty intentional, as if they were real Tier X aircraft with Tier VIII HP bonusses they probably would be too strong for the lower tier matches they can face. .....These aircraft can see T VII if i'm not mistaken, and as Tier X aircraft are somewhat overpowered in T VIII matches too, despite smaller squadron size and reserves.....
