    I had not thought about using FDR in that mode. On such oversized targets. Makes perfect sense to whack them silly with it.

    The controls get locked the last ~3 seconds before the rockets are fired now. so you cannot adjust course and miss the DD. Despite the difference in delay between various Cv seems to be very marginal, it still causes for some CV the consequenses to be very light ( Midway ) and for most CV it means you cannot get a decent score per minute attacking DD anymore. You will have to shift to penetrating (light) cruisers with those rockets or light BB up for fire damage. Tiny Tims are not unusable on DD as 5 seconds ( you can get a coffee in the mean time ! ) control freeze/firing delay would not even kill "a blind hamster" ( said in NA forums ) and even hitting flank speed moving Cruisers is difficult as the delay is much too extreme for moving targets like Cruisers. So they are to be used on camping Cruisers or BB of all speeds as these are less agile. ( same thing FDR does ) Cv that still have HE bombers can do some damage to DD although the damage potential of HE bombs is wasted on splashing most of them around DD. Cv that have AP bombers got shafted. Cv that have fast torpedos ( IJN and Germany ) can still sink DD. Skip bombers can still sink DD. Overall damage does not have to suffer ( killing Cruisers and BB ) but team members have 0 understanding for what the nerf does to CV players : they want CV nerfed AND want CV to kill DD for them. It is already obvious that the latter mentioned is not going to happen for the bulk of all ( average ) Cv players and they will shift to farming Cruisers and BB. I have too as can be recognised in the screenshots i posted. CV match damage and score remains normal, but reports are raining as team mates do not appriciate the Cv "farming" Cruisers and BB as they do too.....as then no one stops the enemy DD anymore ofcourse. So the player base do not appricate a nerf they first begged for....

    I dislike WG taking things away that a player had in possession, and in Luigi's case deserved after completing many tasks. The term "stolen"" is perhaps applicable here as i never saw a good official reason for it. For a time i really thought it disappeared because of an issue with an update that failed to copy it into the next version of the update.

    Hmmm......this 5 seconds long controls lock still reminds me of FDR clunker play too much as in : shoot/bomb/torpedo sitting duck campers if you want full damage. And FDR was a (bad ) choice of me, this was changed and not a choice.

    Thx for the 5 seconds control freeze WG..... I can deal with that if it means looking for other targets then DD......but could you inform the player base about that too ? They don't seem to like handeling DD on their own and the "CV farming other targets" And i don't like to be blamed for things i didn't ask for, and am practically forced to do ( farming targets i can hit with 5 seconds control freeze ) Or am i supposed to spot DD and my squadrons be be shot down for 0 damage/score in return now ?

    That opens options then.....as that Shikishima is rather unique and i dont want to fish behind the net when WG withdraws such ships as well. I do kind of like the muffled THUMP ! sound when allies fire it in the distance. And an enemy Shikishima player assured me when he 1 shotted me half minute into the match in a Yoshino it was a feature of his ship.

    Isn't any gun over 458 mm pointless in game ? I mean 32 mm is all you are going to overmatch. And larger then 458 mm comes with lower low ROF + less guns so misses are much more hurting to DPM. You need 572 mm to overmatch 40 mm deck armour. 715 mm to overmatch 50 mm deck armour...and so on....

    But it is true the damage-limiters of FDR frustrate me.....i do not enjoy locked weapons, turtle slow planes and slow motion released wepons that hit radom in a reticule area as big as 3 Yamato's side by side. Even not when that stacks up to 160+k damage* in randoms.... And i realize the frustrations come from using a ship that is not desigend for randoms or ranked PvP modes, although it can do well in them ( *if many immobile BB are present ) as it is steel = meant for clans and CB. So wrong use by wrong player. But i think i am not the only one that does discover this and regrets spending that much steel on it.

    That is a nice chart but besides De Ruyter having much less displacement then other light Cruisers in game that are directly compared to it , are factors like possible having much more fuel capacity for that tonnage and not per definition that displacement being weapons weighed also ? I mean De Ruyter was used for purposes that had to do with protecting long distance trade routes to and from colonies on other side of the world. So it would have had much larger fuel capacity then Cruisers meant for operating closer to "home" or as part of fleets with fleet fuelers. Large fuel capacity in this game is a useless value. Only weapons count. To my knowing these were as light as possible on that ship and that does not do well in the game. ( hence the air strikes in higher tiers )

    I feel it is a controlled testbed in live servers for a new mechanic ( the BB focus fire thingy ) and also an examination if players will buy into even more fictional extreme size Battleships for an eventual tier XI addition to the game instead of entering the era of anti-ship missiles which would be more logical and reflecting of the period after 1950 where the game roughly stops now. I also noticed lit up search lights.....no idea if something is behind that. But IRL the IJN won many early war naval engagements with their well trained night attack doctrine ( long lance torpedoes being part of it ) untill the allied forces where well equipped with radar and could counter that tactics advantage.

    I am not going against you on this at all.....but WG thought it a good idea to make that a steel ship = targeted at clans and CB for some reason. And it is funny they banned it from CB now for that very design with relentless spotting. I would have liked a more enjoybale CV with less peak damage and less ( or no ) spotting but without all these frustrating limiters....but alas...it is what it is. And in fact i bought something that is not meant for me, as i do not play CB.

    All CV players that have no experience with FDR please look at videos carefully how FDR actually PLAYS and do not look only at the occasional spike damage it does. You will notice you will be limited in free play by 3 artificial limiters 1) long duration weapon lock timer 2) turtle slow planes and 3) inaccurate munitions ( and slow motion travelling when dropped/launched ) To some ( such as me ) these limiters can be extremely frustrating as they hold you back compared to other CV. The FDR is steel because it is a relentless spotter ( flies over or near enemies much longer then other CV because of its extreme HP planes ) enabling clans to see all an enemy does and hit them without restriction. If you use this ship in randoms or ranked, only its time gated and accuracy restricted spike damage is used and it spotting wil give varying results. That is fair advice isn't it ?

    Damn i have misread/misunderstood that*....thnx Luckily i found Cruiser builds so boring ( and generally dislike long range shell lobbing ) i took it as standard on ALL cruisers. * I thought it said the enemy needed to see you.

    Personal opinion : I always wanted the impressive looking secondaries on the back to make up for the missing main gun turret in Operations. But they never did before the captain rework and after....well you know. I think 4 FLAK explosions is not a very impressive base value either. Even not at tier VI. So in PvP if anything it is just a Light Cruiser with 3 double gun turrets and smoke. I would not give it a "lighthouse build" but maybe the smoke permits some to get away with it. I think more HP + more smoke charges + concealement skills are best albeit boring build for it. Top grade gunner only works firing guns in the open, not in smoke and the ship is very fragile. It is stealthy for a Cruiser so i suppose you could use that to get closer to DD. Or you can exchange it to get more damage and have a normal concealment for a Cruiser ( not really "lighthouse" build ) The torpedo's are mainly to prevent BB getting ideas to run you down in smoke. But 8 km is certainly usable as a medium range weapon at Tier VI. In Operations where it can flank and shoot bot Cruisers broadside it is a high scoring citadelling machine, but allmost all other light Cruisers are too.

    I wonder if they do.....i reported the worst flamer for content that is not even arguably violating about every forum rule there is......and he is still there. In the past i already saw they rather remove the one that incites the flamer mobs, then the actual flamers that violate every forum rule there is. Well that is one way of restoring order. Not very lasting though, as flamers usually not only attack 1 forummer. Some of them do that even on EU and NA forums. This forums is very hostile and toxic because of it, and has been for years.

    In CV that are affected by the nerf ( so not Midway, i read some UK CV maybe not either ) DD need to sit still ( in smoke if they must ) ......Like FDR whipping useless immobile campers only. That is a problem because not many DD do that.....only BB class really has useless immobile campers.

    Flamers getting distracted by the "damage not being high enough" and not taking the point i am making, namely : i suddenly am able to hit DD where in other CV i can not. But if you must over that, dont feel hindered...

    The screen PROVES i suddenly CAN hit DD with specific CV types, DD that i cannot hit by CV that are nerfed to HELL !!! I have no understanding for nerfs that do not affect some CV but make others barely playable. This will cause the playerbase to mass report the CV's affected for not hunting DD because some still can, and they can't tell the difference ( ofcourse )

    It's much worse then i thought.....TYPICAL WG !!! They only nerfed SOME CV !! This is actually a partly moduled STOCK plane Midway.....just look what it does compared to other nerfed to hell CV ( and the ones i enjoyed ) I won that match as sole survivor btw....

    If you have half a brain in a DD you hard rudder in a random direction 3 seconds before you will be hit........as that CV has it's controls locked and can do nothing to adjust. Both leading correctly AND guessing if you need to aim short or long for abrupt future course changes has become gambling for the most part. For CV that will at the very least sink their DPM in a very impactful way as more of your attacks will fail to do proper damage versus DD. Go figure purple WR players are quite allergic to sinking DPM.....so they will either use HE bombs or IJN torpedoes, if they feel DD hunting is still worth it at all. ( german torpedoes and skip bombs work quite well too ) But the majority will ignore DD and switch to easier to farm targets. For now i will too, and play other classes like DD as they profit from this.

    Yes and no.... No CV are still score wise pretty much unchanged....( unless you were really into DD snuffing only ) Yes other classes will complain much if CV will not hunt DD anymore on the level they previously did. How many BB mass complained about being sunk by invisible DD in forums ? Pretty few....that is because DD generally lived very short lives and did not reach them often. And what do you think will happen now, when the most complained about factor is taken out of the food chain ? And actually worse : one more predator, the submarine will soon appear. Both will have little to fear from rocket plane CV with AP bombers so will reach the BB's far more often. And no...that does not have to be a bad thing per definition. But BB secondaries were nerfed to the point of uselessness too.....so don't get caught by surfacing subs or speeding DD with your main guns pointing in the opposite direction.....especially the latter is something i like to do too, when given opportunity.
