if i remember correctly the final battle bismarck survived that long because brits were eager to sink it and both battleships came too close to it. the shells fired hit superstructure or flew above bismarck. the result was completely destroyed upper part of the ship and lower hull still in good shape. this is the only reason bismarck survived the engagement that long. there is a nice documentary on the web https://youtu.be/dQoZTYE6Ej8 or this one cant remember https://youtu.be/woDk-H4ZOLY they might be the same. been long time since i watched it

i think they should have built more of them and put them in packs to be more successive. they did their job quite well but packed up they could do way more than lone rangers.
