Z23 lost her historical 15cm guns with Ger DD split, what makes you think Mogami will retain hers? -

Mogami probably will stay as T8 CA, just lose 155mm option -

Tbh I've expected something akin to Seele Vollerei from Honkai Impact - split personality, one timid, friendly and gentle, other sadistic and violent. Almost perfect match for her contrasting design, then there is no clear distinction which Emden is speaking when To give an example -

Arknights latest event on CN server, revolving around Specter alter brought one unit of a soundtrack. And that is saying something after Hyperglyph track record when it comes to music -
Worcester with planned upgrade to three-gun turrets (18 rapid firing barrels total) and shells sprinkled with the same magic as Austin/Sherman ones, that being almost zero air drag to solve ballistics issue.

What would be acceptably good Armory Coal + Steel ships at this point?

Thats something OP already experienced with his brief Tour de Pommern Any noteworthy ship options are gone because *ba dum tss" they were noteworthy. -

Panocek replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
There was no tier 8 premium that ever went coal thus I doubt it will ever happen. Wargaming also kinda stopped developing midtier premiums, or rather, what was added were basically filler grade, completely forgettable premiums to be thrown away as part of the event. Well, Dido is kinda memorable how she was done dirty, "balanced around price of free" To make things even "funnier", T10 special ships are about to get shafted by Economy REEEwork, losing their dirt cheap maintenance. Technically compensated by increase in credits earned, but given how previous REEEworks played out, I'm having fat X button to press -
Score not registering on Battleship hits in Aegis
Panocek replied to Si_klegg's topic in General Discussion
Battleships usually are armored enough to withstand cruiser grade weaponry, unless you hit superstructure or unarmored sections. Second, plunging fire doesn't exist in this game thanks to ricochet rules, not unless we're talking about low velocity guns (primarily US ones) and 16-18km range or more. -
Tier 10 "speshul" ships lack extra credit making of tier 9, while with Economy REEEwork they also will lose their advantage of dirt cheap maintenance for meager credit gained bonus. Salem haven't aged well with proliferation of 30mm overmatch BB guns, but at least provides Des Moines class while your Halsey sits on Annapolis. Moskva still holds strong with her 50mm plating and should remain "not bad" with introduction of SuperKremlin/Petro/Nevsky where you'd put Kuznetsov.

Sadly, what players think "is a problem" is irrelevant, as what matters for WG is "how well they will monetize new content". And if Saint Spreadshiet calls for 50kts underwater subs firing lazors, so you will get 50kts underwater subs firing lazors AND some extra gimmick on top because why not and I can't help but notice with more and more... fascinating ideas regarding subs, higher ups are getting annoyed by this project of underwater variety, being in "development" for few years haven't borne fruits yet
-
Balao goes 29kts underwater straight out of the box, with speed flag and whatwasit skill giving +18% speed when at below half battery we're looking at 36kts underwater? U-2501 is even faster at 31kts, with both goodies she should clock tad over 38kts? Why fear destroyers when you outrun most dangerous ones?
-
WG will have their return of investment, one way or another
-
Now look at individual depth charge damage on Grozo, add in major damage decrease when not scoring a direct hit (I think its 0.25 multiplier?), add to that buffed sub hp... and ribbons go brrr
-
Subs are already overbuffed speed wise and catching up to one without French/Russian speedboat can be arduously long endeavor, more often than not under enemy fire as well WW2 era subs weren't nuclear submarines capable of underwater operations for months. They spent most of their time on surface, dipping below only during emergencies and for attacks on targets that can retaliate. Ye and when DD gets "surprise spotted" in front of entire enemy team, its rare for such DD to extract themselves alive from such situation. BBs, supposed "victims" in BB-DD interaction have no issues deleting destroyers with just overpens Damage Control consumable is identical across all tiers. The higher tier ship, its usually bigger one and size does NOT help with maneuvering, as rudder shift time and turn radius increase First, battleship is usually THE thing that brings most players. Pretty much anyone heard of Iowa, Bismarck, Hood etc. Not so much about cruisers or destroyers. Thus BBs tend to be the most popular class and WG knows that Second, this game never had any pretense of "historical accuracy" to begin with, or rather, it had this back then appealing mix of arcade and "historical flavor", something that was lost few years ago by Wargaming in their pursuit of increasingly BS gimmicks put on ships just for sake of putting them. Submarines in this game is another case of Wargaming trying to fit square peg into round hole, previous one being CV REEEwork. Amusingly, previous CV iteration, so called "RTS carriers" was both more interesting to play and could be balanced better than current turd of a design. Shh, it might be this mythical silent majority speaking

Moderators, why there is no dedicated PVE subforum? ?
Panocek replied to Andrewbassg's topic in General Discussion
you mean this one? https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/forum/827-pve-corner/ -
Bug that is already acknowledged and adressed, it doesn't make you immune to derp charges either.
-
They won't leave, but you can
-
Tbh most cases of "subs immune" buttsore comes from subs having DD grade hp pool AND having damage reduction when they are at periscope depth, which yea, can make them more annoying to deal with than French DD and their damage saturation. Which then gets extra annoying when you're trying to drop some empty vodka bottles for depth charges onto it, usually without any degree of accuracy because no Hydro. If going by displacement = hp, something used as baseline for ship hp in this game, subs should have about half of destroyers hp pool, which they already had, which in turn makes them "oneshot" on surface or "DD kind of fragile" when on periscope, former probably being not the most enjoyable experience.
-
Until you end up with Brit DDs balance wise, which went from excellent to mandatory, as not only they are playable when CVs are around, but also have long lasting Hydro + nastiest ASW package available to truly experience glory of pressing G, the way Wargaming envisioned
-
One does not simply question glorious balans by spreadcheeks
-
IJN, US and UK depth charges are actually lethal, dealing around 5k damage compared to rest, which are in 2-3k territory. And its not even case of "few hard hitting bombs vs many weak ones", as amount of depth charges is about the same.

Subs getting buffs - some quite massive
Panocek replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
That was before she got uptiered, as at tier 8 Baltimore provided more dakka, though Cleve had permanent access to DFAA which was actually useful consumable back then. -
Or MM wants to push longest waiting players ASAP, but can't assemble teams with existing playerbase in queue and with hard rules still in place, like mirrored ship types and tiers

I guess his point being, seeing "negative" changes happen to the game you're already playing can be disheartening, compared to a new(er) player who doesn't know the past. Example, you know RTS carriers and shenanigans Wargaming went through with the REEEwork. But newcomer doesn't know that, at best heard some legends from ancient times. Also such player is less likely to be triggered by "AA cruiser" failing to protect itself from CVs, compared to pre REEEwork Atlanta or Worcester, which were quality pain in the buttocks for CV players back in the day.
