Yea... except Shima can easily shatter glass turrets on Gearing, I've seen Gearing losing at least single turret after first randomly fired salvo from panicking Shima enough times already.

273 here. And so far North Carolina seems balanced, 80k average dmg after 7 battles with her stock. Although AP trajectory and shell velocity makes Cleveland proud. -

IJN DDs from tier 6 onwards certainly can make use of that skill, also Gearing and maybe Flether from USN side.

So far, its way more enjoyable than Yolorado, I guess being able to actually participate in team fights and having some range, even if its for fireworks display have something to do with it. Stock AA is at least here, not on angry cook level. -

First impression about North Carolina: -its actually fast -AP shells are surpassing Cleveland in low orbit trajectory -ship have no torpedo protection whatsoever -ship receives massive HE damage, to the point Clevelands are her bane So after USS Bricks I've got a big fat cruiser? -

I don't know, what else you would build? AA escort? Tried that in Baltimore, fully AA decked Balti (BFT, AFT, AA range upg, AA dps upg, AA flags) was unable to stop strike run from tier 9+ carriers, knocking maybe 5 planes before delivering payload... from 24. Secondaries build? On a cruiser? Top kek Des Moines could use extra RoF upgrade for even more dakka (5.28s reload if I can into math), as her long range performance leaves a lot to be desired.

Try asking WG support VERY nicely if they can restore her, usually you will need to have her value in credits and free port slot for that. From other premiums - Murmansk is best earner per price, if you want best income possible then mentioned Tirpitz and Atago, but both require at least some skill, Atago even more so for being cruiser, so easily being crippled/oneshot by battleships. From regular ships, use whatever you enjoy the most at tier 5-6. Kongo is fun to play and delivers decent money, Cleveland as well, especially at close combat brawling, with Aoba being solid choice as well. Minekaze and Gnevny are one hell of a torpedoboat/gunboat

Concealment is a must for hightier cruisers, especially from tier 9 onwards as they get +16% range upgrade, which in most cases allow firing unspotted.

For one, Demo Expert bonus show up even in tooltip for main batteries, also one can hope official wiki contain sort of valid info

Expert Marksman, improves turret traverse. And supposed reason for nerfs is experienced players with experienced captains with those perks are sealclubbing low/mid tier players AFAIK Demo worked like that since... always?

3inchers don't count into AA barrage skill since CBT. And as its now, Derp Moines have no meaningful AA, proudly taking last spot in AA defense behind Zao and Hamburger, as pinnacle of AA escort cruisers

Then add something like 0.5 degrees/sec for guns above 400mm Or assign values per class: 2.5/sec for DDs, 1.5/sec for cruisers, 0.7/sec for BBs. I guess you can't go simpler than that. Considering split of USN cruiser branch into CL and CA, WG can differentiate them as different classes, thus different bonuses could apply- 32 replies

Keep in mind 3 most important skills (AFT/BFT/EM) most likely will cease to work for Cleveland post 5.3 Also even now AFT makes extra range on Cleve useless, as even battleships have no issues evading your salvos past 15km, while it takes 17s to reach 17km Demo expert ADDs 3%, so 12% becomes 15% fire chance.

Random thought: Tier 1 Expert Loader - improves reload for main battery guns: 10% for guns up to 203mm, 5% for guns above 203mm (instead crappy 30%/50% shell switch) Tier 1 Basic Firing Training - improves secondaries RoF by 20%; improves AA dps by 20% Tier 2 Expert Marksman - increases turret traverse by 2.5 degrees/sec for main battery up to 155mm, 1.5 degrees/sec for main battery up to 203mm; 0.8 degrees/sec for main battery above 203mm Tier 3 Supercharged shells - improves shell velocity by 15% for main battery guns; improves main battery range by 10%; reduces rate of fire by 10% (new skill into Artillery branch) Tier 4 Advanced Firing Training - increases secondaries range by 20%, improves AA range by 20%- 32 replies

Vigilance, Supernintendo is kinda useless as you hardly can run out of AA charges or floatplanes. Though if said captain is supposed to towards tier 9+, then Supernintendo is advised to get one healing party extra. on other hand, at higher tiers Vigilance will be even more handy... If 5.3 changes will make it to live server, you will be better if you drop BFT and EL, there will be no use for them. So it would be like Sit. Awareness (1), Expert Marksman (2), Vigilance/Supernintendo (3), Demo Expert (4), Concealment (5), Vigilance/Supernintendo (3), for cruiser captain intended for high tiers.

Based on this https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bH7wgaiGKvXwpLf18gaIEkFTsSGP-FKQ0gonOydjmxc/edit#gid=364566885 MK seems to have similar armor layout to Des Moines - long citadel exposed above waterline. And DM isn't buffed all across the charts just so. For your information, 100 or 150mm armor provide the same "protection" against 406+ BB shells while both values can shrug off 203mm shells just fine when angled, only disadvantage of 100mm armor is inadequate protection against Russian DD guns at very short distances.
