Well, derpy ballistics seems to be USN trait in general - slow shell velocity for every class and bad dispersion on top of that for bottlesheeps.

IJN battleships are in general on worse end of the deal in terms of AA changes, USN finally have an edge here with their "AA battleships", but their AA is still not "no fly zone" as some might think, unless you're attacking lets say North Carolina with Ryujo. And having stronk AA doesn't protect you against Yamato guns anyway From my limited CV experience they were at least buffed. Faster planes, overall nerfed AA, now to have proper AA you need proper ship with dedicated build for her and carriers will notice that, but IMO still aren't helpless, especially as AA guns on ships aren't exactly sturdy - if you have several high AA ships, just ask teammates to soften up them with HE and/or quick DB runs

I think trajectory have something with it - USN DD, 127mm guns and you can pepper all day long lets say New Mexico for 0dmg past 11km, when shells do near sun fly by. But when you get close, like 5km close, when shells "only" knock airliners down these guns get quite more effective against superstructure, also AP against unangled superstructures becomes reasonable.

Except Kirov seems to have pretty decent turret layout unlike those happy japanese thoughts on Furry Taco and Myoko/Atago, although RoF is pretty bad, 20s And Demo Ex its go to skill anyway. Unless you want to spec into AA, which you can do for cosplay reasons, because knocking planes doesn't pay for sure -

Considering Iona pic is already ingame, I guess WG *could* add 401 as "sub", permanently surfaced, armed with unguided torps fired from the front in very narrow arc and VERY good camo, like 4km spot or smth.

Technically its a premium ship, but for "Arpeggio" nation. You can freely swap captains between Anime ships. They don't have increased income though -
You know, these superheavy AP shells loaded with Freedom and whatnot are also used in Des Moines Although when close and personal these AP are brutal against cruisers and to an extent battleships.

Hightier cruisers in general are in pretty bad spot, if someone doesn't like Pensacola already, he will suffer hell going through New Orleans and Baltimore, with Des Moines being kinda sour reward - granted, with dat rof you can dismantle ships at terrifying rate when close and personal, but its still glass cannon against battleships, while her size and mediocre agility doesn't help evading torpedoes.

Instead looking at percentage of how much dps comes from what, I'd look at how much ship gains from the skill. If you would have a ship with single DP gun, having dps of 5 would you call it best ship for manual AA skill, as it would have 100% dps from 85mm+ guns? -
Warpite: AFAIK cruiser branch will be first UK one and cruiser skills doesn't really fit battleship, so question is do you really want to play slightly gimped ship Mikasa is IJN ship, so as battleship trainer she should be just fine Murmansk as cruiser trainer should be fine, enjoying SA, EM, Vigilance/Superintendent, DE and Concealment. As DD trainer, not so much as russian gunboats rely on BFT and AFT, which doesn't work on cruisers Also post 5.3 there is no reason to separate CA and CL in terms of captain skills, unless specific ship can be made into AA platform

There is "tech tree" with Arpeggio ships already. And expected way of earning them will be missions in their time.

Demo Expert adds % so 19+3=22%, on other hand fire chance is reduced by multiplier dependant on ship tier, for tier 10 its about 0.5, so fire chance is effectively halved, more so if you stack fire chance reduction upgrades/skills. Des Moines can fire unspotted past 16.something kilometers, where it have about 10s shell flight time IIRC. Baltimore have equal camo value as Zao, so with full camo build both can fire unspotted.

It works best for ships that have most powerful long range AA, which in most cases implies battleships, preferably USN ones. For cruisers, not so much. Hindenburg and Zao can make use from it

I've specced North Carolina into somewhat AA build - AA range upgrade and AFT, and her AA performance against equal tier CV (Lex and Shokaku) wasn't epic either, struggling to knock down planes before delivering payload, even more so if ship took some damage and lost AA guns. Manual AA skill should have more impact on NC, as she have quite an amount of DP guns to start with. And AA survivability upgrade might be worth a thought, considering every hit - few AA lost

From tier 9 onwards both USN and IJN CA can stealth fire, but that requires +16% man battery range upgrade for humble 3mil credits.

If they are additive, then 91*3+91*0.3 (AA barrage x3 multiplier and manual designation with 30% bonus) gives 300dps. 391 if you add tier 4 Manual AA skill -

Don't forget mid range Bofors got buffed too form 54 to 68 BIG question is how variables interact - pre 5.3 AA barrage used to multiply with manual target designation, so Cleveland 36dps went into 324 (36*6*1.5). If post patch values still multiply, then Cleveland gets even juicier 91*3*1.33=363dps (I think new manual designation bonus is 33%, correct me if I'm wrong). -
Hightier IJN BBs can enjoy "secondaries build", but USN DP guns are just too crappy for surface targets. On other hand these 5inchers have serious dps on tier 8+ battleships, with Manual AA skill tey match cruiser guns with AA barrage Besides, what is dps for North Carolina AA for top hull? I have the ship, I have no dps related upgrades/captain skills yet in port every AA dps value looks like its 10% buffed (166dps for 127, 99+105dps from Bofors, 158+27dps from Oerlikons) when comparing to other ships using the same armament.
