Actually "dps" value is chance rolled against plane hitpoints. If squadron composed of planes having lets say 1200hp each receives from all AA guns within range 220dps, it means every second there is 220/1200=0.183, or 18.3% chance of knocking plane down. And such dice is rolled for every plane in attacked squadron

AFAIK Mogami can't fire from 2nd turret ahead except at long range, with Ibuki having similar issue. And I'm not sure you want to try 155mm "flamethrowers" with 51s turret traverse and 15km range. For flame throwing you could wait for RU cruisers, until tier 8 I think they are all light cruisers, relying on quantity over quality of shells, while (at least on paper) have pretty good ballistics combined with outstanding range by cruiser standards. So much for consistency "we nerf Mogami because its wrong when 155mm guns outrange 203mm, but let us introduce new stronk rashian kruzers armed with 152mm Stalin guided shells with 17km range" Though tier 10 Moskva might be something sort of battlecruiser - seemingly new the best cruiser guns - 19.4km range with ballistics surpassing Zao (920m/s vs 985m/s, 155kg vs 176kg, thus shell time to impact will be even shorter and heavier shell means retaining that speed at longer distances and better AP pen), with presumably rudder time being balancing factor - over 17s

I use Man battery mod for turret traverse on my anime Myoko, she still outturns her turrets. And AFT for IJN cruisers is kinda pointless

Cleveland is one very strong ship, with one big flaw - shell velocity. Past 12km only target you can more or less consistently hit are battleships, but if you get her brawling below 10km, it demolishes pretty much everything. On IJN side, Aoba at tier 6 is also very solid performer, with the same guns as on Atago, but with much better reload. Yes, number of guns when broadside is lower (6v10) but going broadside with cruiser is never a good idea. Myoko is pretty good, but suffers terrible turret traverse and have the same wonky turret layout as Atago. Also to nitpick - heavy cruiser refers to armament, not protection ship has.

Don't forget stronk battlerating "adjustments" Idea of battleratings is actually a good one, but why Gaijin is so stuck on not extending these and compressing more and more stuff within small brackets is beyond me

Wargaming is Belarussian company with WoT developers sitting in Minsk, WoWs developers (Lesta studio?) sitting in St. Petersburg. And *if* developers talks with community, its russian one. EU/NA are expected to be income sources only. And looking at most "suggestions" appearing on forums/questions to devs, deaf ear to the community is actually not bad idea.

If WoT with its grind is so popular, why not tighten the grind screw some more? Add some nuts price tags for upgrades, modules, repairs and watch money flowing from premium... or population drop. Comparing to WoT ships have ridiculously expensive upgrades - in tanks top tier cannon costs about 300k credits, or mostly equivalent of tier 5 tank. Here top hull upgrade for battleship can cost as much as whole tier 7 ship -
In general you can't go wrong with IJN ships regardless of type. Only mentioned Kawachi is one hell of a turd to survive, Furutaka due to playstyle change can be also hit and miss sometimes. From hightiers I've heard Izumo is at least tricky, Mogami post nerfs can be lackluster too. Highlights of IJN tree are certainly Isokaze, Minekaze, Kuma, Aoba, Kongo, Fuso (if you can live with that turret layout)

That is called "paywall" or "grindwall" if you want, simply to slow down player progress. If you think its bad, go check War Thunder -
Gearing and Derp Moines may have ermagad rate of fire, but hitting things with these guns from "invisible firing" distance is at least tricky with ballistics full of Freedom. Shima can win gun fights against Gearing, just aim for his glass turrets, one-two salvos and so much for gunboat without guns. Against DM just keep your distance and DM becomes mostly harmless if you have enough skill to press A and D here and there.

You still can use AA barrage and radar thingy, just you need to trade floatplane, which is kinda random teammate, usually flying wrong map sector when needed the most.

BB fight CA, as firing at angled battleship is pretty much pointless. Both for small target and small chances of doing anything serious with AP.

(355+91*2)*3 gives 1551dps at 5km. Without its 517, unless I'm wrong how AA things stack. If you add BFT and AA dps upgrade, 2016dps
