First, "heavy" refers to main battery caliber, not armor or protection or whatever else. hightier cruisers in general, be it heavy or light are downgraded into mediocre support ships, struggling to impact game on their own, especially if enemies know how to ship. And so far only way to have hightier cruisers somewhat working requires going full camo setup + increased main battery range whenever possible to fire unspotted "cruisers are counter to destroyers" - yeah, no. They have (somewhat) high rate of fire to hit destroyers, provided they are spotted. Going in front and spotting things yourself is good way to earn full repair bill fast, either from destroyer torps (you know its here somewhere, but you don't know where exactly just to find torpedoes on broadside) or from battleships, always willing to rebalance any sings of cruiser bravery with 406+ shells. Thus for spotting you need either friendly DDs in front or carrier planes in the air "cruisers are AA escort" - sort of. Hightier battleships carry better AA than cruisers of the same tier, so cruisers can provide AA cover from AA defensive fire, scattering torpedo/bomb drops from planes and maybe knock few planes down. And that can be done with USN destroyer too

So I've bought Tashbrick derpstroyer... and actually like it -
I use both on North Carolina and it works marvellously for torpedo evasion, especially as NC is surprisingly agile to do so. Also TASM upgrade increases proximity spotting distance from 2 to 3km, putting you in advantage when flushing out DDs from smoke or ambushes around islands.

Arpeggio phase 2: EU missions are *very* different to the SEA's mission
Panocek replied to Yuzral's topic in General Discussion
Myoko which was available in previous "season" is tier 7, although I doubt she is viable for rankeds. Also if you think 100 kills and 10mil dmg isn't worth the effort, feel free to grind captain for 650k exp, to obtain the same 16 points to work with. And looking at just anime, one can expect Takao, Fletcher and maybe even Yamato/Musashi as ultimate prize. More if WG starts digging into manga (I think neony Bismarck appeared there?) -
152mm citadel armor when angled shrug off cruiser AP just as good as 100-127mm plate while 406+ AP shells go through anyway unless they glance off at very shallow angles. Only advantage of 152mm plate I can think of is more or less immunity against small caliber AP from destroyers. Balti have access to superheavy AP shells (within main battery upgrade), which are bit of mixed bag - these babies have indeed significant penetration and improved damage, but slower shell velocity means two things - longer time to impact, giving enemy time to manoeuvre and higher trajectory, which either helps you at plunging fire, or reduces AP effectiveness due to angle they hit target at medium distances. Of course Baltimore being non treaty ship is bigger and clumsier, which works not exactly in your favour

Same applies to USN cruisers, there is very little difference between Pepsi, Nope Orlean and Baltimore. Des Moines at least have RoF for some dakka time though.

hax and unfair plane for achieving sheep too fast. Areggio ships are considered separate "nation", so you can't move statpadded Hiei to IJN Yamato or Shima or whatever. -
There are still 3 Myoko sisters. IIRC red (haguro), green (nachi) and pink/orange? (ashigara) With Haguro leaked already few days ago http://thearmoredpatrol.com/2016/02/28/arp-haguro-pictures/

Besides, Kongo is quite powerful and enjoyable ship to play, so having few fancy paintjobs doesn't really hurt. If all 4 ships were lets say Atlanta variations, I wouldn't be so happy.

You can't not progress them without playing tier 5+ ships, unless you do no damage/hits/kills/whatever -
Also notice Arpeggio ships are no longer in their own "nation"

Looks pretty straightforward

I guess if you don't portray russians good, you better don't portray them at all, looking back at CoH2 butthurt

Wait for later russian cruisers "Mogami was nerfed because it was wrong for light cruiser to outrange heavy cruisers meanwhile let us introduce brand new stronk rashian leet kruzers with 17km range and superior ballistics to make use of that range" Consistency much. Also upcoming new tier 5 cruiser, Profintern (?) - 17.5km base range on 130mm guns, 21km with AFT. Comparing leaked ballistics data (shell velocity and mass) guns should handle similarly to well known 130mm DD guns.
-
Cruisers are "counter" to DDs because they have firepower and rate of fire to do so WHEN they are spotted, for that you need your own destroyers or carriers in the field.

Arpeggio of Blue Steel - more ships planned?

Turret traverse on Mogami 155 was nerfed so hard because of effect of old Expert Marksman (2.5 degrees/sec for guns below 155). Now as skill was changed I guess WG forgot and/or don't intend bringing old turret traverse back because stats were proving Mogami was "overperforming", mostly due to AFT/BFT 155 build, which combined with full camo allowed some nasty invisible firing while giving decent DD hunting capabilities and setting world on fire. Also Atago is both tad faster and have better camo than Mogami, not mentioning more hp and healing parties.

Or face banhammer From Zao vs Des Moines, I'd lean towards Zao due to ship being simply simpler to use and more versatile - better camo, much better shell ballistics and powerful torps for close and personal moments. Des Moines is close range specialist and very good at it, but brawling doesn't happen so often at high tiers On other hand, there was mention about Zao nerf "rebalance". Apparently cruiser that can work between hightier battleships is overpowered or something
