Oh dear Wargaming why have you done this?
Panocek replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
I'm pretty sure Annapolis and Conde went as-is with their main gun specs, only alternate fire gimmick was tinkered with. And with Dalarna, my main issue so far is obscene gun damage output without drawbacks like Friesland/Sherman suffer. -

If you're looking for spotter/torpedoboat, perhaps. Certainly Aliexpress smoke is much more flexible, though I'm not fond of losing ability of torping DDs and/or convincing them out of smoke. And if US DD gunpower is becoming outdated, it applies even more to PA ships as they have universally slower reload than US counterparts.
-
Lost some radar duration. You mean Fletcher is still gold standard of a do-it-all destroyer, and this one rocks unique combo of smoke and radar? Though Black torps are bit of a meme, but they should be very much functional with their low detection and very fast reload.

Bug or am i missing something? Not getting the full detectability reduction on Kleber!
Panocek replied to TheNubination's topic in Newcomers' Section
Stacking damage over time reductions also have diminishing returns. Like it or not, but thats how math works with multiplication. -
Annapolis and Conde went with flat +33% damage increase by increasing barrel count AND getting reload gimmick and didn't received immediate nerfs, so Dalarna getting +50% and "only" torpedo switch gimmick might get a pass in WG. Meanwhile echo of old Khaba was immediately smacked with nerfbat Issue is, Dalarna straight from the box outguns every DD by massive margin, almost poking Forrest Sherman SAP damage output while having decent by DD standards speed (36kts+boost), concealment (6km), better-than-Halland AA and very functional torpedo pack.

If "permanent" version price would be in 100-200 dubs territory OR 5-10mil in credits, perhaps. Some of the consumables don't look half bad. -
Is there's website that shows AP penetration values on each ship?
Panocek replied to CaravellaCaravan's topic in General Discussion
But you have rough idea of "DD gun can't pen cruiser, while CL can't pen BB"? -

Panocek replied to CaravellaCaravan's topic in General Discussion
There is no RNG for AP penetration. Besides, knowledge of "these guns won't pen this armor at this distance" will come in handy, so you'd aim higher even for overpens or look for other target. -
My suggestion for sub gameplay changes to bring it close to reality

Times when Wargaming tried to make game "historically inspired" are long gone, now all you have are gimmicks just for sake of gimmicks and balancing done by this guy: -
Not going to happen. Old ships, besides being "troublesome" due to their overperformance also make nice cash cow to sell for absurd amount of money in very time limited events, be it auction or lootboxes. As loyal WG customer, all you can get is shafted with various REEEworks, or maybe, just maybe, WG might throw you a cashback coupon to convince you to part ways with money.

[Poll] Did you buy the Tier XI "Superships"?
Panocek replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
None. I was eyeing out Zorkiy, as throwback to old Khaba. But I was right with "wait and see" as Zorkiy, basically old Khaba but nerfed instead nerfhammered is still too much for WG spreadshiet to deal with. -
Lighthouse Auction - Musashi this weekend

B2P also have such "features", because why devs and publishers would deny themselves some extra money hidden behind FOMO, lootboxes and other fascinating psychological gimmicks? -
Probably same story as server tickrate - someone somewhere reported it year+ ago, but it takes certain obnoxious youtuber to actually push WG to do something about it.
-
Brief test with Stalingrad confirmed this, ship with Prop mod achieved 30kts in 21 seconds, with Last Stand added same speed was achieved in 18s. It is still indirect nerf to DDs as Last Stand is mandatory skill for these.

P2W is in the game now (superships and CBs)
Panocek replied to ReimuHakurei's topic in General Discussion
Don't forget about Ungalympics as dedicated game mode for these ships -
US and IJN lines in general are very vanilla, or classic if you will, without reliance on gimmicks. And that applies to other ship types, not only BBs. UK are bit shoehorned into HE spam as easy, no effort big damage numbers but no impact playstyle.
-
Basically yes. Most BBs up to and including tier 6 feature 356mm guns or smaller, only exception being Bayern, Queen Elizabeth, as well premium West Virginia, Mutsu, Warspite and Repulse, as these have 406 or 380 guns. And whenever BBs get upgunned in caliber when transitioning to tier 7, it is usually at expense of barrel count.

For brawling and contesting points, I think Germans and Russians could do. Both tend to have armor to at least try to shrug off some of the smaller ordnance sent their way, Though 50/50 turret split on Germans tend to be unforgiving whenever you bring rear guns to bear. Russians with 2/3 firepower front (besides some midtier ships) can remain "that brick that refuses to die quickly" for longer. "Tons of barrels" is rather ship specific trait, than national. Or rather, one "line" that consistently have 12 barrels is Kansas->Vermont, but its highly likely you will die from boredom with their 24kts top speed. That said, they are due for a mobility and survivability buff, former means much better acceleration, latter means faster heal reload. And given how absurdly tanky Massa/Georgia/Ohio can be when snorting heal after heal, that is one enticing option. Italians I consider to be tad too gimmicky, with their smoke and SAP ammo. Sure, when stars align SAP salvo can smash things no worse than hulk, but so can AP into someone broadside. With French, from tier 8 onwards you start leaning more towards battlecruiser playstyle IMO - you have mobility (good top speed and engine boost), but armor layout can be considered as... fragile and 380mm guns aged poorly with proliferation of 27mm+ plating on cruisers. UK battleboats from KGV onwards rely on their improved heals to survive, to compensate for all-or-nothing armor and above waterline citadels. Not optimal, but then Lion or Conqueror, having infamous 3d printers restoring up to 48% ship hp in one go can be nigh immortal without stuffing them with torps, multiple citadel hits or putting them in front of firing squad made out of 5+ ships One does not simply forget about Pensacola. Sure, turret traverse is but 10gun broadside with American Piercing is noting to scoff at, let alone on tier 6

You can have ships classified as unga bunga, but as long as only means of obtaining them involves cash or paid premium currency, odds are, they will still be called premium ships instead their official designation of unga bunga, simply by virtue of having to put money on the table Thats why "Freemium" name sticks to premium/special ships that are available both for doubloons/cash as well common currencies like Free Exp or Coal, despite not appearing anywhere in official documents/pages. Because you can get them for free without going extreme lengths. -

So is technically available any ship for doubloons, just keep getting them from supercontainers -

Pay2Rico was also technically available for free. And for some yeeting 100€+ is easier than playing the game to get [insert some bs currency] just to get the ship
