    To have any degree of success with torpedo boats at higher tiers you have to be close to the enemy, if not at the edge of detection to make sure you hit with torpedoes. And for that, Kagero/Shima got new torps, ones from Zao - 76kn, 8km range. 15km/20km torps got nerfed to make torpedo carpets less effective though

    If I want ship without armor I'd take cruiser or destroyer. And these doesn't suffer potato dispersion and half minute reload.

    I guess you can blame US Navy for their superheavy shell fetish Although there might be glimpse of hope, as on 5.5 test server it looks like drag coefficient was slightly reduced on most ships, as DM now clocks 13.17s instead 13.7s for AP at 18.4km, Zao loses around half the second too.

    Even if it might go through storms, it won't help you as drawing distance is cut down to 8km. So you can spot them with radar, see them on the map, but you won't be able to fire at them... In theory Can anyone confirm improved shell velocity on their ships? So far it looks like DM and Zao have slightly improved (by about half a second at max range)
  11. It seems Vigilance increases Radar distance too, by 25%, although I can't test it out in randoms. Also Des Moines have slightly improved shell velocity 13.17s instead 13.7s at max range Zao have improved velocity too, so it looks like global warming drag coefficient change

  17. Besides another defeat in Iowa, some CV players can't figure out why whole Ranger strike group just disappears
  18. But then, you can't bring more than 5 slots to the battle without splashing the cash in WT. In randoms it doesn't matter much if you're decent player, but in clan battles without full 9 or even 10 slots forget about anything more than "lets play for lols". And getting 10 slots takes 60k "silver lions" (basic currency), 3700 "gold eagles" (premium currency worth around 20€), grinding 10 linked accounts to at least tier 3, which is at least few hours of dedicated grind per account. Oh and then you need to grind exp on every crew slot to make them useable. Or you can buy exp for only handful of euros All that is for only one nation, if you want to have extra slots for other nations, repeat all steps except linked accounts grind.

  20. Maintenance costs are only small part of hightier problem. USN BB can't hold a candle to a Yamato in BB vs BB slugfest, and MM loves to put Iowa equal to these Shimakaze/Kagero... plenty of these, and Iowa/Montana are noticeably less nimble than NC, so torpedo evasion isn't that easy anymore. Full concealment cruisers, particularly Zao are pain in the arse too Iowa have pretty much the same AA as NC. While its effective enough against tier 8 and below CVs, but it can't stop tier 9+ CV attack at you. There is no meaningful armor improvement too, while Montana have weaker deck armor than NC/Iowa.

    Yes, its always been this way since WoT inception. Simply to prevent people from playing top tiers constantly, otherwise low/midtiers would suffer player shortages. Although in tanks its easier to come up with positive balance without premium

    Nerfing Zao hp pool and Yamato repair parties effect is also nerf to destroyers damage potential. Its unacceptable I'd even say!
