IJN 127mm are already effective provided one isn't afraid to use them. Having rof and range buffed you will end up with DDs that have IMO the best cannons - RU AP are good, but situational, while IJN can just HEspam and burn everything while having decent ballistics, the best concealment and still potent torpedoes.

Well, 2800exp defeat on Des Moines earned me previous exp mission as well, so I don't mind Wild guess implies next "exp mission" will be 3k one, so I'll have to undust DM or get another golden Iowa battle, which is kinda unlikely

Colorado actually was a good ship, certainly she has armor, but same can't be said about North Carolina and Iowa. Calling these 3XL cruisers would be more fitting. Also NC is IMO the best ship from the whole line, Iowa is about as much "improvement" as Mogami->Ibuki. You gain more from 6th upgrade slot than actual ship, while Iowa loses a lot in manoeuvrability and guns aren't exactly better.
