When everyone play battleboats, no cruiser or DD whine can be heard
-
I'm about to get 750k Free Exp, but I have hard time justifying buying USS Free Exp. Credits never were issue for me, I already own Iowa and while she is decent boat, she is hardly thrilling to play. Basically only reason why I would need her is BB trainer. On other hand watered down Yamato is not interesting either.
-
Player like you is a liability to the team, thats why number of players gave you advice of staying at lowtiers, to get basic understanding of the game. Alternatively, if you're hellbent to not learn, stick to coop games.
-
One fighter can spot torps just fine, two have more chances to spot torps and engage enemy planes. Its up to you what you value more.
-
Two fighter planes give decent early warning against torpedoes, but twin spotters are bordering on useless. Still, catapult fighter planes last only so long on battleships, only Musashi have worthwhile aircraft duration. On cruiser two planes are not bad choice, but again, PT is better. If you're dueling with enemy ship, sudden rise of counter should give you a hint to disengage
-
PT is my go-to first skill on all ships to be honest.
-
Priority Target shows you how many players aim at you, including unspotted ones. It also flickers when DD player switches to torpedoes. Preventative Maintenance lowers chance of crippling modules, you've mistook it for Incoming Fire Alert
-
I'd ditch PM and go for AR as last two points.
-
Main issue with Gnevny is Fushun - same boat, but waaay better torps and Aliexpress smoke, on the same tier tree next door.
-
if you own T8 Nope Orleans in port when patch comes, she will get replaced with new T8 Baltinope AND you will get T7 Nope Orlean
-
Something you can do just fine in WoWs coop battles at lower tiers...
-
I'm sooo looking forward of your review of WT on their forums. Don't forget about Russian Bias, Spacebar Thunder, retarded battle ratings, eternal grind, p2w premiums and the same "elitists" handing your arse to you on silver platter
-
This is why you're dumped into puddle of coop battles first, in near zero maintenance tier 1 boats. But of course playing some gunboat mopeds is no fun, fun is when playing Yamato, Bismarck or whatever boat is stalking you in your dreams... protip, hightiers are not as fun as you might expect, but certainly they are punishing mistakes
-
I've seen jerks in all games, so "elitists" are more of humans being humans instead "WG fix peopel or I is of quittings". Besides, if majority of playerbase refuses to learn anything about the game, there is little WG can do, even if they would wanted to. Forced tutorial? I can already see people quitting "I'm too good to play damn tutorial" "unbalanced MM" - it has its derpy moments, but if every battle would be "perfectly" balanced, then game would be so damn boring. I don't mind challenge coming from mixed ship types, bigger issue are people refusing to play, resulting in one sided roflstomps. Again, playerbase issue, not "this boat is op and that is not" And "they're doomed to fail as a company"... well, WG is over 8 years old and I don't see them falling over dead anytime soon. Oh and if you actually want to "forward opinion", you're barking at wrong forums, developers reside mostly on RU forums. EU is merely for milking. Also I'd love to see your face after experiencing how WG handles "public relations" the russian way, especially back in the day when SerB was in charge of WoT and actively gave Q&A... glorious old times

Kebab wins gunfights, provided you can see enemy DD. And going cap contesting in Kebab is... not exactly good. 6km Grozovoi detection vs 5.9km on Gearing/Shima.
-
Kebab is well, Kebab. Unique gameplay of shoot fast and sail even faster, she excels at pestering battleships and providing firepower support to capping DDs. Grozovoi I find best described "russian Gearing", with all the quirks coming from that statement. Yes, ship have high speed, 2nd best hp, her ubervelocity and quickloading 130mm guns have no issues hitting DDs even at max range, her torps are Gearing/Fletcher class in terms of speed and detection, though they lack in damage and reload. She packs quite capable AA and can mount Dakka Button, but doesn't have lolGearing smoke. Also she have massive hull, that eats BB AP pens all the time and maneuvreability leaves a lot to be desired, making torpedo evasion harder than one would thought. Her guns have so good shell velocity island abuse can be quite damn hard to pull off. If you want to play dedicated, evasion tanking gunboat, you have Khaba. She loses as cap knife fighter to Gearing while having small concealment disadvantage. If you want T10 torpedoboat, Shima/Gearing/Z-52 are better. If you want "teamwork", Gearing got you covered with still decent AA and epic smoke. Basically she is "second best" to other DDs, while having considerable drawbacks of her own Personally, my reward in "Grozo branch" is Udaloi, which is almost classic RU gunboat, that unlike classic RU gunboat actually can turn, packs capable torpedoes (and a lot of them) and has good artillery range, more than Khaba or Grozovoi. Tashkent has even more range, but is stuck with non dual purpose turrets, which take some time to turn.

Its about as fun as trying to cut yourself with sharpened potato... -
Yamato and Musashi Armor layout still bugged after update
Panocek replied to KrasnyKrymAbuser's topic in Archive
This. Freedom Dual Purpose Mortars, used in Atlanta and half the US DD branch needs to be as far as 12km IIRC to stop ricocheting from horizontal armor to start with. North Carolina, known for her low velocity AP needs 21km to do the same. Cleveland with current range of 14.7km can't achieve penetrations through deck at all. Basically ricochet rule (if angle of impact is 60 or greater, shell ricochets unless overmatch occurs) prevents plunging fire in this game. And client trajectory is correct on launch and descent angles, but mid flight trajectory is flattened, so you can actually see tracers. -

Just another day in Minotaur... -
PT, AR, SI, CE, BoS, AFT, EM (JoaT) seems to be universal build for Yamato and Montana for somewhat balanced approach - short fire durations and some secondary/AA firepower respectively

Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)
Panocek replied to Kancolle_Kongou's topic in Off-Topic
Well, wooden arrows are certainly more flimsy than carbon ar aluminium ones and for sure they don't like being forgotten and found later, soaked after rain or morning dew. -
If you mean Arpeggio (and presumably Hentaifury) ships, back in the day voiceover was tied to captains, preceding what was chosen in audio settings
-
What if... that was 60min training battle?
-
Speaking of camos, any clue what one can expect from HSF Yamato skin, obtainable from collections?

120mm +IFHE packs only 26mm pen, so Hipper, Roon and Baltinope are out of question. Skill certainly would work, but Fushun I see to be more suitable for it - both for smaller chances of seeing T8+ battleboats and larger caliber, which combined with IFHE enables damaging Hipper/Kutuzov deck plating.
