How exactly that differs from DM+Gearing, except former can violate broadside citadels with AP? Or Two Minotaurs, one with smoke and other with radar? Then Minotaur would be more up your valley, 1km stealth torping margin with 16 fishes on board. Des Moines historically was basically ultimate cruiser, combining CL high rate of fire with CA firepower. Thats why, in game at tier 10 light cruisers needs to be bit more exotic. Hindenburg with reload upgrade already gets close to light cruisers volume of fire - 81/min, when typical 12 barreled CL with RoF of 8 have 90. Neptune at T9 already packs 144 rounds/min in base configuration.

I have rough feeling triple turrets, proposed as upgrade for Worcester class could do the trick. That would give unique 18 gun broadside with 5s reload, which should give her "ultimate" CL gunpower, but in return she doesn't have Minotaurs getaway cards - camo, smoke, torps and lolheal.

dat double post

2s slower reload, way worse range and shell velocity and no torps should Rush B need arise. La Gasoline already is mediocre copy of a Budyonny, Dallas will be even worse.

Des Moines and Minotaur both have 15.8km range. Latter can work with such range just fine with smoke and best in class concealment, former needs a lot plenty of island cover. And Worcester have 1km less range, and that difference might be crucial in hightier, rather open maps. Having Zao level of concealment (9.6km IIRC) is nice, but not as nice as Minotaurs 8.9km Basically she is all around gimped Minotaur, "but haz access to small caliber HE". And if one wants to keep AA firepower on par with DM and Minotaur, then all three T4 skills (AFT, CE, IFHE) are needed, so you drop out Demo or SI. If I want HE slinging AA powerhouse, Des Moines is basically better, while Mino covers "maximum dakka" department. So where exactly Worcester fits?

If I want to play "challenging but rewarding DPM monster" I have Minotaur already, with more damage output, healthy dose of decent torpedoes, range, stealth, smoke and lolheal advantage.

Basically tier 7 Mogami with Freedom ballistics, no torps and actual grease on turret bearings -

Starships at best would be test bench for thunderstorm and fog mechanics to be incorporated into randoms, apparently first run (Hermes) was successful enough. -
IJN cruiser on average clocks 35kts, while baguette cruisers have 31-33kts and rely on Engine Boost to actually overtake IJN counterparts. Only from T8 onwards Frenchies get enough speed and 20% boost to get close to 40kts
-
One can say their gimmick is speed, concealment, powerful, but awkward to use torps and above average HE.

In classical rant fashion.

Thing is, other nations destroyers gain decent to actually scary torpedoes with tiers up, while retaining or straight up upgrading their gunpower advantage. IJN are stuck with mediocre guns (but they can still fire and do damage, as many seems to forget) and their torpedoes aren't that good to compensate. Actually, IJN torps were repeatedly nerfed, to the point other nations are better at torping things *cough* Fletcher *cough* Z-series

One thing I'd like to see would be classic horde mode. Players need to protect base in the middle of the map from capturing, enemy ships coming in waves of increasing difficulty from different directions. Historical themed operations with historical ship limits aren't exactly useful for large number of players - being forced to play the same Ops over and over and over again in single ship gets dull fast.

Star Wars Tech Vs Arpeggio of Blue Steel Tech
Panocek replied to Battleship_USS_Arizona's topic in Off-Topic
I might remember wrong, but it was hinted tactical nuclear bombs were ineffective against Fog ships. And then there is Mirror-Ring defense system available on highest ranking ships (Yamato, Musashi and Hiei), which is capable of redirecting any attack against vessel, though that require manual operation Also klein field of Arpeggio boats vary considerably between ships, usually the bigger, more powerful boat the more abuse it can withstand. -
Well, shell must not exit the ship to deal penetration damage. Overpen is basically what it is - shell left the target, whether due to not armed fuse or shell armed, but run out of ship to explode within. Iowa have quite higher shell velocity due to longer barrels (50 caliber length compared to 45 in NC). That means following: -shells have more penetration (duh) -shells are more likely to exit ship before exploding -shells travel at flatter trajectory, which makes below waterline penetrations more difficult to pull off, especially at shorter ranges

Z1 (Maass) have 17500hp at the same tier, 19500 with Survivability Expert. And she will outgun Z39 - 5x128mm guns with 4s reload against 4x150 with 7.5s reload. Basically Z39 have the same firepower as Gaede, and that isn't a lot. Actually IJN DDs of the same tier have comparable gunpower. So yeah, so much for "reck any tier 7 dd with ease" If you want "OP", check out tier lower, given for free to everyone Aigle - 5 rather quick reloading, hard hitting guns on a boat with equally hilarious 17k hp.

If going with navweaps, Myoko have actually historical turret traverse of 4 degrees/sec, that gives us in game 45s/180. Actually large number of boats in game have that value historical, so you'd have to bother turret designer for buffs. http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNJAP_79-50_3ns.php Certainly "fo balans" was buffed Pensacola, otherwise you would be stuck with turret traverse even worse than her stock (3.5 degrees/sec, 51s/180).

Extra consumable for Yamato, and maybe Montana
Panocek replied to KarmaQU_EU's topic in General Discussion
Both of the old guard battleboats are more than fine. Yamato is ultimate anti BB battleship with tough armor when positioned well, Montana excels at removing everything around Yamato or other hightier BB and then she can proceed to abuse some broadsides with her massive salvo. -
Well, if clan compromised of window lickers, wd40 drinkers and glue sniffers got into gold or whatever its called clan league, you know playerbase have interesting priorities

Odinburger have better camo, range, torps, smoke and lolheal. Shell velocity also is decent enough, as it enables island abuse and you don't feel beard growing when waiting for shells to land Also your camo formula seems a bit off, as 8.9km you get on Minotaur, which has 11.52km base concealment. Edin have 11.7, new Cleveland will have 11.88... which is the same as Atago. So that would be 9.1km? -

Cleve might be workable, though only 1s reload advantage over other CLs for worse ballistics, range and lack of torps. Turret traverse is noice, but other CLs with exception of Mogami have already solid traverse -
Aigle marathon, how's your progress been so far?
Panocek replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Technically you could assemble cruiser captain what would work with Aigle - PT, LS, EM, AR, SI, Demo, CE. Baguette cruisers seems to lose rudder every time someone looks funny at them On other hand, Charles with Rudder mod 2 and 3 is hilariously fun to play and rudder damage is of lesser concern, with repair time of 8s or so.
