New ships — Closed testing 0.11.8 (DB 350)

Or how to make ship line reliant on long forgotten skill, IFHE Now if entire line would use 155mm guns, with 31mm HE pen base and 38mm pen with the skill, that would be more tempting Create a problem and sell solution to it later, old but gold strategy Except this time we get large cruiser with 10km detection and actually nasty secondaries to match, as well 38-39kts speed for running down peasants or engaging in some long range tomfoolery thanks to improved engine boost

Narai and the State of Operations

If going once more with Almost Working Armored Warfare as example of "higher difficulties PvE" - so called "extreme" difficulty, available only for tier 9-10 vehicles features simply more enemies thrown at you and they universally have more hp. Add to that enemy further buffed enemies acting as mini-boss of sorts. In WoWs Narai term, imagine "Flagship Missouri", having 150k hp, improved secondaries, gun accuracy and permanently active radar to pose as an actual obstacle. Extra hp on enemies is a concern in AW not only due to having to drill through more hp towards objective, but also due to limited ammunition. Sure, there is one-time ammo refill, but if you happen to not die like a fly, that one refill is often not enough.

Narai and the State of Operations

Even with randomized enemies games will be predictable in the long run. And as Armored Warfare shows, there always will be players of "damage whoring" variety playing most "meta" ships, either to ensure win or just in spite of other players. And given there's no shortage of highly questionable players in AW happy and willing to throw games, these high damage output vehicles are actually needed to carry games with. Thus damned if you do, damned if you don't
  4. Module does help with deployment cost of her summons, and I'm working towards it. 100 trust is suddenly not so easy to get when you actually needs it yesterday
  5. With proliferation of UR ships, you could argue only SR ships that have place now are healers I'm not saying Ling might be a tad too much, but she might as well be with her pet dragons in chonky form

    "Which Cruiser?" For Completing Campaigns

French large cruiser line still have all the drawbacks of large cruisers in general - they combine worst of both worlds. -full fire duration without captain skills to compensate -armor barely better than that of a cruiser, which means little against battleship proper guns -CB guns combine lack of overmatch, penetration and damage per shell with lack of rate of fire, which is especially noticeable on French ones, with 28s reload instead 20s. Only upside is overmatch of 19mm plating, so you can at least do something to angled BBs through superstructure without switching to HE. I'd say "cruiser proper" line leading towards Henri IV is better pick because it doesn't try to blend classes, something that doesn't work most of the time. Charles Martel I was very fond of, as you could play her and following ship, Saint Louis like you'd play Russian Gunboat but in 3XL scale, slinging 203mm shells at 18km instead 130mm ones at 14km, while still having respectable reload and 40kts of speed. Henri IV since acceleration nerf can't quite do the same open water shenanigans, but then you don't need to play nor buy her, as you should be able to unlock Conde pretty much instantly. And that ship not only is major step-up from Henri, she retains pre-nerf acceleration.

    [edited]SUBS

It will simply mean introduction of more subs into other game modes. If these crude, uneducated, ungrateful... people refuse to acknowledge craftsmanship it took to add submarines in balanced(TM) form, then a little bit of coercion should be necessary

    Narai orgy

Munchen isn't slouch by any means either, so is old but gold Fiji and Helena.

    Narai orgy

People having fun and making profit from secondary game mode? Is this even legal? I'm kinda looking forward how Operations will change when tier 8 ships will be allowed. Question is, whether WG will just enable ships of tier 6-8 to play them, which by default renders tier 6-7 obsolete unless memes you're after, or Operations will be rotating tiers. Once tier 8 ships are enabled, Mainz might be the boat you'd be looking for. Maybe Bayard if you've paid to be beta tester of IFHE/Armor rework. Assuming enemy ships will remain as they are, just get "buffed stats" whatever that means, secondary Tirpitz might be force to be reckoned with as well Tier 9 I don't see being enabled for Operations precisely because of economics, not unless they get reworked into actually considerable difficulty when doing so.

    "Which Cruiser?" For Completing Campaigns

inb4 "heavy" in "heavy cruiser" refers to guns larger than 152mm instead armor. Because it did, as treaty compliant heavy cruiser, having meaningful barrel count in 8" caliber and protection deemed adequate was borderline impossible to achieve.
  11. Both. I was devstruck or otherwise had significant emotional event of citadel variety too many times just because captain somehow lacked PT, while I've settled with IFA as universal tier 1 skill in my quest to standarize core builds across as many ships as possible. I need to settle whether I want faster ammo switching or not. Having this skill on few captains already threw me of with "oh he's turning to broadside so lets quick switch to AP - fug, full time reload", but then skill becomes actually useful only on Halsey or Sansonetti, who have improved version of it. Though I've omitted IFA on battleships as its bit rare to react with these against incoming shells in any meaningful way, picking faster ammo switch on these as tier 1 skill.
  12. 111 in my case. Sadly only other 6* was Eunectes, while 5* drops were few and far between, with pot3 Blacknight and random Aurora Still 264 pulls in reserve and I might try and snipe pot2 Ling
  13. 20% effort brings 80% of the results
  14. Roma spooked me on very first pull, and managed to complete all but Garibaldi in 60? 70? pulls in total. Not a good sign when Ling is around the corner
  15. BS Any penetrating shell, AP or otherwise that hits turret module deals 1/10 of its damage to the module. Whether actual shell overpens or detonates inside is irrelevant, I was permanently destroying DD turrets with just two USN 457mm AP shells, overpenning due to complete lack of armor to arm the projectile, yet two overpens worth of damage (1575*2=3150) is enough to permanently kill DD turret with 2000hp. Even slot 1 main battery survivability does nothing, as it bumps turret hp to only 3000. More likely, Kremlin aimed high for superstructure, B turret kill was just happy accident. Non RU/Ger BBs have only 10000hp on turrets, Kremlin deals 14500 on citadel hit, or 1450 on turret hit. Depending on upgrade present, it would take Kremlin between 7 and 11 hits to kill the Bourg turret. And before you skreee about "its 430mm armor!!!1!11!one" - that kind of plating is nothing against hightier BB grade AP munitions at shorter ranges, as these usually feature more than 600mm pen at 8km. And French turret faces are completely flat, so you'd have to manually angle them by looking away from the target. Bit unfeasible with slow turret traverses if you ask me. Never was close to it in first place. And calling game mechanics "hacks"... oh boy, you're in for a ride in real world
  16. Given only hightier DD that can't make use of her torps effectively is Khabarovsk, introducing "dedicated torpedoboat with weak guns" is a moot point at this point in time, not unless you want to add another cripple of a ship like Z-44.

You need to get acquainted with idea of MVP - Minimum Viable Product. Why dream of grandeur, putting effort, money and resources into what can be described as outstanding, amazing game, when you can put some shitty lootboxes, some paid early access nonsense and still rake in money? 20% effort brings 80% of the results

    Future supership speculation thread

Edgar features super AA of sorts in her description, yet actual damage numbers are actually worse than Annapolis... Amusingly, the same Edgar also states "more effective ASW" yet she's a downgrade over Minotaur, dropping one depth charge less, rest of the stats seems the same

    Future supership speculation thread

Can Annapolis defend herself against supershit CV? No? Then why asking At the same time, both venues of upgrading Montana already exist - Ohio and Vermont. Unless WG combines both lines into single supershit of "Montana hull with triple 457" variety.

    Future supership speculation thread

Super Worcester - there were IRL plans of upgunning her with triple turrets with automated loading, for 18gun broadside while retaining rate of fire Super Zao - I don't think it will happen, unless WG pulls of a Mogami and tacks 5th turret somewhere or retains 12gun broadside, but with much improved reload "what-if automated loading to match Des Moines class" Super Nevsky, upgunned to triple turrets could be a thing Type 1945 destroyers as "Super Z-52", this would be an actual supershit with basis in reality, as basically Z-52 with 4th turret Super Gearing/Daring... eh, stretching them out to accomodate extra turrets is getting lazy at this point Super Kleber - triple 139mm turrets already exists, so WG stretching Kleber hull a bit to fit these is not impossible, also would continue trend of FR destroyers casually powecreeping Russians
  22. Given there are like 11 siblings of Nian, I don't think price will get any better over time for whole dragon collection? Taiho skin got officially announced and what struck me is amount of expressions
  23. I don't think WoWs is the game that warrants anything above just functional mouse and some place to slide it over So if boats are only consideration, I'd just go with anything that happens to be comfortable and have some dpi adjustment, if you can't be bothered with slider in game.

    Overpowered CVs are absurd

Well, NorCal, Iowa and Montana had formidable anti air as well could easily take extra AA range upgrade to help with that, without sacrificing surface combat... but that was in RTS days
