Any detailed changelog is available?

Main belt is thinner on Bismarck, though she gets 32mm plating on bow/stern, enabling her to shrug off all but Yamato class AP. Upper main belt is considerably reinforced though, so random DD with AP loaded isn't an legitimate threat. Heavy cruiser still can make dent in 160mm plating though. Biggest drawback of Bismarck is matchmaking - tier 8 notoriously sees tier 10, which besides spike on boomstick department, also have much more campy gameplay, so getting within secondary range is somewhat rare, not including yolo rushes.

Please FIX the Arizona and DeGrasse AA
Panocek replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
I see increasing amount of CV+BB divisions, former spotting CV with latter using spotter plane and whatever range upgrades available tries to pick one off. -
This is the problem with rework - point where it is balanced within tier is exactly that - a point. AA dps will be too high and CV will be literally pointless if all they can is to deliver one-two payloads at expense of almost entire squadron with exception of Hakuryu and her long range torps, also extraordinary concealment lets IJN TB play spotter. AA dps will be too low while flak will remain as it is or lowered - CV will still strike with little to no casualties. And that is within same tier, trying to even resemble balans of tier 10 vs tier 8 will be impossible, as you can't exactly balance unavoidable "cloud of doom" with somewhat skill based CV attacking mechanics. Player skill dependent AA dps would be fine, provided it would involve more than making sure AA is not disabled and clicking proper sector
-
Because Hakuryu have actually worthwhile torpedo bombers, while AP bombers can deliver lots of unhealable hurt. Hotfix and its focus on dps will cripple Midway, while Hakuryu will remain viable even if WG remove ability to "Flying Shimakaze" due to long range torps and ability to stealth drop them Welcome to rework camrade, enjoy your balans

In game and some math. Midway for example: Attack aircraft, good old HVARcats. Midway have 18 of them on deck, 20 with FCmod1. Squadron uses 12 of them. They get shot down, Midway can launch 6/8 planes in reserve instantly of have to wait 6 minutes 36 seconds (6x66s) or 4 minutes 24 seconds with FCmod1 to launch full HVARcat squadron. They get shot down again, full restock time is 12x66sec, or 13 minutes 12 seconds, though FCmod1 shortens this time by 5%. Still plenty of time to dig for gold. I'll let you do the math yourself for torpedo bombers

So, I've got an idea of reworking "Patrol Fighters" consumable, available for post 0.8.0 CV. Currently use of this consumable is in hands of CV player and it results in summoning Combat Air Patrol in squadron location. Reworked version would work as follows: if in battle CV is present, every non CV player would receive temporary consumable "request Combat Air Patrol". Upon activation, CV player(s) would receive pop up window about sending CAP to requesting player with yes/no options, operable either by hotkeys or good old Ctrl+click Reason is, to provide fighter cover squadron needs to be almost directly on top of ship, which delays CV player attacks, especially if CAP is needed on other side of the map and if flying slower strike aircraft, like USN TB/DB it might be impossible to intercept enemy faster moving strike aircraft before attacks started. Though limit on active amount of CAP, maybe 1min cooldown between assignments should be applied to avoid situation of entire team requesting CAP and thus covering half the map with fighters. Aerial spotting could be disabled or otherwise limited for CAP as well @MrConwayWhat do you think?

Please FIX the Arizona and DeGrasse AA
Panocek replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
Da Grasso gains A LOT from AA mod1, as she have TWO long range auras, thus with modest investment of 500k credits you go from 2 flak bursts to 6. Atlanta with the same upgrade have 7 bursts on her long range -
No wonder it had overwhelmingly positive feedback when you consider "positive" answers in questionnaire like this: liked: visuals disliked: everything Because main AA damage dealer for now are flak bursts, which are avoidable. Which means, your Grozovoi met idiot CV player, who haven't bothered evading flak, thus you were able to knock number of planes, while Missouri met someone who heard tales of WSAD keys. But don't worry, upcoming "hotfix" will move damage from flak bursts to continuous dps, which most likely mean nerf for ships with lacking AA department, while AA powerhouses might become completely unassailable for CV, without any way of counterplay
-
Then you have issue of CV being bottom tier, which already struggles to do much besides relying on enemy idiocy (just like torpedoboats) or suffer considerable losses due to cranked up unavoidable dps, which will be buffed even further with hotfix. Respawn timer already is lengthy, if you lose first squadron you will have to wait 4-6 minutes, depending if you use Flight Control mod 1 instead concealment upgrade. If you lose the same squadron again, you're up for 12-14min waiting to restore that squadron, considering 20min battle time means two brainfarts with the same squadron and you're out of it, unless you launch incomplete, which due to how continuous dps work, will die even faster.

Lexington Halloween Permanent Camo

Whats wrong with Lady Lex? -
I've meant tier 6 boredom, with not that much oomph per strike, though planes aren't as glacial slow, so you can practice accuracy without much AA to worry about.
-
Challenge doesn't necessarily mean death from boredom
-
T6 are serviceable, T8 I find okay (Shokaku) and good (Lexington). And CV in Operations struggle to put enough dps and from those few Ops played in division, you're better with Ryujo due to AP bombs and better TB, easily capable of shreking lowtier BB you encounter on daily basis. Aegis with Ranger was particularly bad, as most IJN ships you encounter have reinforced deck, ignoring half of your rockets and cruisers are also narrow enough to somewhat reliably miss with DB or land 1/3 bombs for not very thrilling 1.5k dmg And one CV per team is still active, shame as 7/7 CV Killer Whale or Newport would be top kek
-
And variant for GZ players I already get rage and salt for "not protecting" BB scrubs who preemptively corner themselves without even hint of CV threat, so we're back to square one anyway
-
Why you wouldn't want to Main Battery Mod 3 on Kutuzov? Though retiering Kutuzov and releasing it as FXP/Coal T9 boat... Well, GC is actually getting buffed - 25mm plating and access to DCSM 2 for shorter fire/flooding. And if she would prove lacking, WG always can buff her into "solid" state at tier 6 instead "too balanced" at tier 5.

Apparently the "HotFix" for some of the most burning v0.8.0 CV (and other) issues is coming very soon!
Panocek replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Come to think of it, fighter consumable could be reworked - instead CV plonking them whenever his squadron is, all non CV players would get "consumable" - "request Combat Air Patrol". Once used, CV gets notification on the screen with yes/no options. If accepted, CAP is sent to the requesting ship location. It would require cooldown though to prevent entire team getting CAP on demand -
Any chance of lifting CV limit for Operations, especially for those played in full division, outside of "Operation of the Week"? Killer Whale and Newport Defense could be especially interesting in 7/7 CV lineup
-
Midway is speschul when it comes to TB. I guess WG way of balans - 6 crappy torps per attack with atrocious aim time, as if 4/12 TB squadron using Lexington torps wouldn't do.

Manual land, wait for rearm and manually take off, its pretty much WT stuff as puffpuff134 suggested. Fine for their Air Realistic Battles, but borderline useless in Arcade Battles, even more so in WoWs CV gameplay. -

Why TB when you can DB with quicker to exacute, more reliable and harder hitting attacks? -

I've used PT-AR-SI-CE-BFT-AFT-JoaT with good effect before and I find it still workable now, due to high dps on mid range coupled with wall of flak, though with upcoming hotfix shifting focus from flak to continuous dps, I might ditch AFT for Manual AA. AA mod 1 is the most effective on low AA ships, as flak goes from 1 to 3 for example. Granted, you still need CV willing to fly through them, but with three its more likely than with one
-
Because focus on flak bursts. Though I'm afraid WG will overdo in upcoming hotfix and will halve flak damage for doubled dps. Which in case of Minotaur with AA build would mean about 2k dps from mid range, which isn't that short - up to 5km. One plane going down very second
