Cruisers, especially hightier ones are easy to citadel as well, just drop bombs late (crosshair moves forward). I have to agree about them being extra useless against destroyers and too well protected battleboats.
-
Caps used to give quite a lot more exp, it wasn't unheard of to be in top 3 just by capping two flags on domination and landing few hits here and there. Guess why its no longer the case

Post hotfix I'd say she is back in action, with maxed camo IJN TB once more have niche of stealth spotting Woosters/Minotaurs 152mm AA cruisers, so if SHTF you can always go and play spooky

Solid T7 BB, very fun I'd say with clearly defined strengths and weaknesses and can be used in tier 7 Operations, which as of now is only Narai. 3x3 406mm at tier 7, even if "weak" Brit AP is still brutal and for stubborn targets you have equally British HE. Citadel is sticking out so broadsides are punished, while 32mm amidship enables you to ricochet BB AP with exception of Yamato class. Improved Brit heal, or rather 3d printer on board enables you to recover A LOT of hp in one go, but its reload is lengthy, so you must pick fights carefully.

Missouri is unavailable for over a year by now, replaced by Musashi which is gone as well. Alaska is okay ship, being basically a battlecruiser she combines flaws of both worlds, while offering 305mm guns in cruiser MM slot. Which aren't that great, as only thing you can overmatch are UK CLs, reload is on slow end while penetration is inadequate to handle main BB belts at most combat ranges, even more so if BB is somewhat angled, unlike Kronshtadt which has come and gone as well. Credit printing wise, nothing beats Missouri, with later T9 Freemiums being only slightly better than purchasable T8 premiums If you want historical, made in steel warboat, I guess you won't go too wrong with her, though compared to previous Freemiums she is surprisingly average-to-solid in most aspects without extreme hp, guns, armor or whatnot compensated by equally extreme lack of AA/secondaries/whatever.

Midway Torpedo Bombers - wtf Wargaming?

Yamato is better than Moosashi. But Moosashi is THE best T9 BB against other battleships, able to go toe to toe with tier 10s due to literally tier 10 guns, hp and armor Montana is better than Missouri, but Missouri used to be better than Iowa due to gimmick radar, now its case of radar vs better heal and rudder Alsace was nerfed to justify/make Bourgeone more appealing in case reload gimmick wasn't enough Kronshtadt is inferior to Moskvagrad. But guess what once more, she will be matched against tier 9 Ibuki/Donskoi instead tier 10s.

AFAIK it involved Sims and Dynamo Ops

In theory losing mid/long range mounts should reduce amount of flak, keep in mind amount of flak is subjected to RNG os it might not be obvious at first

Midway Torpedo Bombers - wtf Wargaming?

No matter how I look at Darling, she is still Gearing level of chunky with similar turn radius, at that doesn't say a lot in "small nimble" department -

Except from my encounters in randoms Kaga and Saipan are in meh spot - former is balanced around massive plane reserve, while latter around tier 10 aircraft. Which sounds fine until you realize both uptier abysmally - former bleeds entire squadrons to drop onto anything with AA while latter takes eternity and a half to replace inevitable losses Enty seems to be Lex with AP bombs, which should work fine with "balanced" plane stats, no idea about Gimmick Zeppelin though
-
British and user friendly? In russian game? Preposterous
-
It would fit for RTS though - basically limited to auto attacks (and maybe adjusting direction), but also having selection of ordnance and plane formation, affecting drop. Arm dive bombers with AP or HE (depth charges if subs arrive), regular or deepwater torps for extra damage. You could also add player controlled spotter aircraft, which would be only one actually transmitting enemy locations, while allies within range would get accuracy bonus? It might be counterproductive to skillgap issue tho
-
Average player already have not easy time computing WSAD keys, who has what AA and some basic aiming procedures, if you were to add 3rd dimension (up and down) you would cause server wide bluescreen for average players
-
Now imagine controlling 9-12 planes at once, if full simulation mode with joystick, pedals, throttle and truckload of buttons For better plane control there are other games. This is ship game with [edited]backwards flying model replacing IMO more fitting for carriers RTS/strategic gameplay.

Midway Torpedo Bombers - wtf Wargaming?
Panocek replied to Varian_Dorn's topic in General Discussion
That doesn't mean they shouldn't be workable. IJN flavor are torps, but that doesn't mean AP bombers are crap. Quite the opposite if you ask me. Lexington torps are worse in potential dmg output, (19401 compared to Midway 25398) but they have so much better handling and aiming. And in case of botched drop, single torp on target deals more than Midway -

Then there is this mythical flooding chance on aerial torps, at times I wonder if detonations are more likely than floods. At least these torps notoriously break engines/rudders so And DB always were undeniable asset, same with Lexington -
[nerfing rare premiums] steel compensation

except you purchase right to use under specified conditions, not ownership. So "buying" car leasing would be more appropriate. You have it, you use it but actual owner is bank/whatever company you leased from and based on agreement they can carry out any modifications to their "own" car you happen to have in your garage. Including overnight engine swap -
First impression on Shokaku buffs are very positive - quicker aim time and attack prep up are handy, increased TB load and 4th heal are really helpful late game and when molesting "AA" cruisers respectively

Daily x3 event map, daily build and Fufu/Jamaica secured I have more boats than can handle -
Or KGB grade cryptominer somehow start itself mid battle instead in port. Which explains why GPU goes nuts when idling in port

Thing is, with the way how AA dps work, small squadrons are much more likely to be wiped before doing anything. And while on paper CVs have infinite amount of aircraft, battle time is not. And funnily enough, I seems to have surprising amount of success playing T8 CVs in T10 battles than actual Midway recently. I guess it has something to do with "nah, its only Shokaku... motherfluffer those AP bombs hurt! Where is DFAA when I need it!?"

Mine fleet is slowly shaping to be something, while I'm not farming 3-4 anymore, I still bump around 3-2 and 4-2 for designs/blueprints, while leveling up Anshan trio, Helena, Atlanta and whatnot. And DoY, somehow I like her almost poetic way with words. Akagi for so much effort getting her is straight up annoying she might condemn herself and her sis to eternal commission fleet though. -
Does someone have any success with CV since rework ?
Panocek replied to Cadelanne's topic in Aircraft Carriers
You've missed -increased amount of TB on board for Shokek and Haku (2 full squads) -4th heal with shorter cooldown on IJN TBs -considerable buff to stock plane hp, not relevant long term though, but nice
