Funny because I've found Lion dispersion to be okay, positive surprise after Monarch. Same with Conq guns, not stellar but not bad either, while she fixes tragic rear guns firing angle and well, you can't go wrong with more guns

Stock Lion (and Nelson's) 406mm are more than adept at HEsmashing, as they have 101mm HE pen anyway. And there aren't that many plates between 101mm and 104mm Neptune citadels 102mm is the only one, as Mino have 101mm

But 0*1.1 is still 0 10% shorter return on empty planes I don't think is going to make any difference, unless they don't receive flak on their way up -
I've researched and mounted 419mm guns on Lion, they barely made any difference. Not sure if worth their cost in exp and credits, especially as she isn't keeper material. If I were to grind through Lion again, I'd research hull only, base range and speed are workable enough

WoWp is kinda in state of drug induced coma since its failed launch, 2.0 game rework did some things right, some things wrong but game development goes slow. It still retains "premium" consumables/ammo which are purchasable for gold only, relic of ancient WoT times. No idea about "OP" premium aircraft though Playerbase is VERY small, its not uncommon to play 1v1 at tier 10 with rest of the team being bots, which actually isn't that bad, as they don't shy away from action, though they lack common sense to group up, so often games gets one sided, due to bots on one team stay together over base/point of interest while other team comes one by one, with predictable consequences. For arcade to the extreme flying game, it can be fun actually. For bit more realistic flying games, War Thunder Arcade Battles is unfortunately to go. Unfortunately, as WT economy model makes Wargaming saints in comparison

And yet she recently got accuracy and turret traverse buffs. For underrated cruiser I'd point Hipper, she can be tough little cookie and her guns are by no means bad, while long range makes her workable in T10 heavy matches

Torp Acceleration also increases arming distance, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Demo I increasingly start moving away on my ships, as effect is too unreliable and diminishes with tiers up

If you really want to go that way, captains on surface ship doesnt directly aim the guns, manage speed and course. They give orders to chief engineers, gunnery officers and such. So lets say, BB captain would play only by in game autopilot and selecting targets akin to secondaries, digging for gold most of the time. CV captain wouldn't directly control pilots, at best he would consult with officer responsible for flight operations how to handle specific target - focusing all attacks on one side, available ordnance selection and then send order accordingly to pilots and maintenance crew. RTS was quite close to that "strategic" feel and IMO it was salvageable both in terms of balance and ease of play, while being arcade enough for fun instead playing excel spreadsheet.

Superb TB, combining speed, stealth and fast torps you can consistently land on battleships and clumsier cruisers. And DDs alergic to WSAD keys, but those are somehow a rarity. AP bombs on Ryujo and Haku (to lesser degree Shokaku) can citadel battleships of same tier and below and - with some practice for late drops - cruisers, but are extraordinarily useless against DDs, dealing overpens only. So you're left with rockets, which are average for the task until Hakuryu and you still need to handle long "arming" distance with DD aerial concealment. And I run this build (or work towards it) on pretty much all carriers, works just fine. EDIT some freshly baked replay as food for thought https://replayswows.com/replay/44714

Maybe guy on receiving end is trying to honk you away? The effect you're describing is sound effect WG gave to dive bombers for their wonky "climb and dive" animation, which makes pinch of sense, engine going WEP for climb and then wind whistle increasing as plane dives and gains airspeed. And the same sound effect was copy/pasted into UK level bombers which makes extra no sense

AFAIK Gimmick Zeppelin got diving horns as homage to her previous, pre rework self and her Stuka dive bombers, which had them. Other carriers should be free of this "feature"

Or looked at tech tree, SB2C Helldivers, the ones carrying two samples of Freedom are top module thus need researching and purchase. And Midway is better as in planes are slightly more durable, but then as tier 10 you're bit more likely to bump into DM/Wooster/Minotaur and planes are less maneuverable. In terms of firepower/plane/fun of playing handling I'd risk saying Lady Lex is the best out of US CVs, but she can and will be uptiered, which may or may not trigger pain receptors in butt area

You find them okay simply because you haven't witnessed what 6 bombs on Lexi can do

Implacable seems to fix that by delivering 2x8 tea samples. Ranger dive bombers can be lacking at times with 3 bombs only after all. If anything: USN - dive bombers and few hard hitting rockets(TiTs), crappy torps IJN - extraordinary torpedoes (fast, converging), small HE bombs instead rockets, AP bombers UK - lots of rockets, as IIRC they were UK air force fetish of a sort, okay TB, okay DB.

Level/horizontal/whatever WG came up bombing in aircraft used in game is pretty much waste of ordnance. It would be a valid gimmick for lets say Hornet with B-25 on board though
