    Warspite and her silver counterpart, Queen Elizabeth definitely need good aim to put "only" 8 shells on target. Both have 381mm guns, enabling them to overmatch (ignore ricochet) up to and including 25mm. Which means most ships you will encounter except tier 8 battleships and select few tier 8 cruisers (Baltimore, Wichita, Hipper/Prinz Eugen) Other than that, Warspite is slow but not clumsy BB, but her base range as well using all-or-nothing armor scheme leaves something to be desired.

    Aoba (and then Myoko for Narai) are fine cruisers for operations, though due to either small amount of guns (Aoba) or slowish reload (Myoko) you need to make shots count. Also you can practice AP vs HE shells against various targets while getting good credits and exp for 3+ star victories

    Or flatten plane hp across all tiers and adjust AA accordingly. Negative - AA consistency goes out the window, something I liked pre rework - boat with two Bofors have double the firepower over boat with one

    To on players in all tiers equally? Though Hakuryu I find okay, main difference being salt coming from cruisers and odd BB instead destroyers when you put dive bombers in motion

    My personal issue with dedicated torpedo boats is their reliance on enemy being dumb than you being good at it. While IJN recently got gun buffs, their overall dps (excluding "gunboat" minibranch starting with Akizuki) is not going to win many fights for you if torps miss their mark and other destroyer start molesting you.

    Ditching whole rtrd "launch 3-5 planes from single catapult" and turning fighters more into "panic" debuff like they used to be would IMO be valid option - doesn't kill planes (as much) but reduces damage taken by increasing spread. If anything ships with two catapults could launch two of them for more dakka.
  9. One thing I've noticed extremely notorious are randoms putting out even single fires on their BBs, something somewhat rare pre 0.8.0. As if WG somehow broke your typical random mind, or they let themselves be farmed to cry "OP" afterwards, some Tzeenchian logic there Fires can be dangerous on DDs/high concealment crusiers not due to damage but spotting penalty. Flood on BBs though, assuming full survivability build? I mean they are already glaciers to move around

    With AP bombs I just go for amidship, as machine rooms are usually the biggest and most exposed. Late drops (when crosshair moves forward) usually covers issue of not enough deck armor to arm bombs, though I had cases of bombs arming on superstructure and detonating prematurely (or missing ship in question entirely)

    Salem is literally Des Moines with worse radar, Tea grade heal and comes with T10 premium paint, so she have income as such. Jean Bart is well, Richelieu with improved accuracy, reload and access to MRB consumable for extra giggles. Personally, together with now gone Musashi I find neither to be interesting, so I sit at over quarter of a million of black bricks

    IJN AP crosshair behavior is interesting at times, but kinda baffles me why go for side pens, when late drop reduces overpen chances massively and enables to shrek cruisers just fine, unless you do like <0.5s drops, where you actually risk ricocheting off the deck? Rework train has no brakes and never intended to have them to be honest Minimal AA range always was working as intended tho. And keep in mind "no AA zone" moves with the ship. And out of blue abruptly ending speed boost after attack, especially noticeable on TBs always made me wonder about WG vodka brand working as intended

    Indianapolis is as carbon copy of USN heavy cruisers as it can get, which synergizes perfectly well with USN CA captain and skill sets. And those don't differ that much from other heavy cruisers to be honest. Atlanta definitely falls under "fun and unique", but to get the most out of her 18 point captain is in order, preferably dedicated one but most skills are welcome in Cleveland and US light cruisers in general. Depending how much time you can spend on the game, quarterly premium account is not bad option

    Keep in mind only from tier 7 onwards you will be able to "stealth torp" with USN DDs. Nonetheless, USN still excel at cap contesting due to quick reloading guns, they suffer from abysmal ballistics though, so long range shelling can be... interesting at times. But high tiers, from Benson onwards are definitely keepers, combining outstanding DPM, solid concealment with good handling, workable (Benson) to best in game (Fletcher, Gearing) torps while having able AA to defend themselves

    I'd point tier 6 and 7 as potential keepers (Fushun and Gadjah Mada) as they are pretty much superior to other nations counterparts (RU Gnevny and UK Jervis), if you can work around deep water torps that is. Fushun solves lack of torpedo range, while GM have better camo, acess to Engine Boost, longer range torps and way more useful smoke

    That and for some glorious reason every DD I dive upon maneuvers itself into perfect position for drop, longitudinally to the bombers.
  18. Sound and reasonable change? Lex torps in 4 per attack could be done in two-plane attack wing, assuming those BTD Derpstroyers stay, 8/10 total or 4 separate planes in 8/12 squadron. And switch these BTDs with Skyraiders already
  19. And yet, those willing to learn somehow can find their way to the forums/reddit and ask for help. And help they usually get, provided their query doesn't fall into butthurt territory.

    Against rather common US hightier battleships IFHE203 is a gain. Same with Alaska deck and upcoming RU battleboats, some of them have 40mm upper hull IIRC

    Even then, IFHE won't make up for ze German CA HE, which break 50mm. non Ger CA and IFHE CL have basically equal HE pen, I guess simplest solution is booting up armor layout and looking up for what you can dent within known penetration
