Not quite. Flak always spawns too far ahead and gives CV player enough time to react even if you don't preemptively dodge flaks. For entire flak cloud duration, that being +-2 seconds, squadron flying at constant speed flies into that during last 0.5s or so, taking far less damage than it would do otherwise. To make flak actually threatening, it need to spawn closer to the squadron, but then with current iteration of flak, it would start wiping squadrons at faster pace than Saint Spreadshiet might like.

No... nie. A zwłaszcza w przypadku niszczycieli i krążowników, nawet jak Traktaty ograniczające wyporność zostały zniesione, to wciąż pozostawał aspekt kosztów i czasu budowy.

Nurnberg/Weimar wciąż zachowuje 38mm HE pen, Fuso 12lufowe salvo wciąż ładnie kasuje cele bokiem, KGV wciąż robi grilla i to takiego godnego otwarcia sezonu.

W sumie zostaje Saint Louis i Roon? -
Nothing changes in regard of short fuse - you still need to hit non overmatched plate of sufficient thickness to trigger it. UK BBs have standard fuse sensitity as well, which could be subject to 1/10 change from usual 1/6 And again, very few cruisers have armored platings outside of citadel and turret barbettes. Thus hitting citadel from bulkhead would be the same as it is now. Difference being, should your large cruiser (or Siegfried/Sevastopol for that matter) hit higher, unless it hits barbette and shell doesn't glance off, all you will get are overpens.
-
With 1/8 HE pen they would get 16mm pen base, or 21mm with IFHE set at 33% bonus, so 152mm armed CLs could reach 25mm pen threshold. I think you're overestimating large cruiser accuracy. Stalingrad is precise, but that comes more to high velocity, so enemy have little time to react
-
Smolensk/Colbert already can demolish T10 CLs when running IFHE, while tier 9 cruisers without 30mm plates are ez dmg with said skill. Akizuki gang doesn't even need IFHE to make cruisers cry already and you can't citadel them even if you try. And keep in mind, Large Cruisers packing 305 guns would indeed overmatch all the cruisers... but unless you hit anything armored, it would be overpen only damage. And cruisers rarely could afford armor plating outside of the most vital of vitals.
-
Putting more thought into the idea without changing (much) current game framework to not get another case of railgun... Overmatching shells don't arm the fuse; Overpen damage is subject to damage saturation (yes, currently it is excluded from it); AP fuse sensitivity is increased to 1/10 of shell caliber, so 406mm needs 40.6mm of effective armor to arm the fuse; -not sure here, it certainly would make smashing broadsides more consistent Personally I'd ditch whole idea of unarmored platings ricocheting big AP shells, especially with rigid border like it is now. Sadly, with current overmatch value of 14.3 WG did a bit too good job the first time and it fits nicely into known and existing plates and changing that multiplier throws big wrench into entire game. Simpler, if still time consuming option would be global plating change while keeping current overmatch multiplier. 10/13mm for destroyers on tier 1-5 and 6-10 respectively 13/16mm for light cruisers on tier 1-5 and 6-10 respectively 16/19mm for heavy cruisers on tier 1-5 and 6-10 respectively 19/25mm for supercruisers and battleships on tier 1-5 and 6-10 respectively Superstructure is universally 10mm for DD and cruisers, 13mm for supercruisers and BBs Uparmored sections like 38mm, icebreakers etc remain as is That way, big AP shells will be basically guaranteed to deal chip damage with overmatching overpens in pretty much all instances, but to land pen damage or citadels, they need to hit something actually armored and go through all the usual hoops. It also might make HE shells more effective option against angled ships instead usual "hurr durr AP all the way" on BB. New platings do throw a wrench into existing HE and SAP penetration chart though. So either global HE damage nerf for smaller calibers while retaining 1/6 pen rule and ability to directly damage anything, or switching to 1/8 rule (1/5 for Germans and UK) with 1/8 rule, HE penetrations would look as follows: BBs with smaller barrel count often get reload or accuracy bonus. Sometimes both looking at Georgia and Thunderer And then WV is kinda bad example, as she have only bit worse sigma, far from "horrible". Mutsu having worse pen than 356mm guns is getting shorter end of the stick
-
To sell you a superGeorgia/superThunderer/superOhio with 460+ guns at tier 11 Issue isn't lack of 32mm plating, Overmatch mechanic as a whole needs rework. Perhaps starting point would be "overmatching shells don't arm the fuse"?

I must say, after going through Archon quest, all the lore mongers will probably overheat from all the things that have happened there. -
AFT, or however now its called captain skill extending gun range by 20%. While Mogador/Kleber can be played the Russian way with some success, they can be also great supporting DDs when there's actual destroyer trying to get cap. MBRB is no joke on these AND they can scurry off pronto should things get bit too interesting.

Balance changes - 0.11.8 Public Test (DB 364)

Such token buffs and nerfs serve only one purpose - satisfying Saint Spreadsheet. "Marlborough deals 85k dmg on average, while she needs to do 88k to be a-okay with rest of the stats as-is. Slap her with barely noticeable sigma buff, that should do the trick" -

Now that submarine gets Friesland levels of reload, submersible Forrest Sherman for USN when? -
That would be impactful primarily to German BB fleet in Hermes as they spawn almost in secondary range to begin with. CLs and BBs will still rip a new one to plenty of midtier BBs, tank build or not due to no resistance against HE or overmatch. Usual concealment build on cruisers/DDs is a moot point as these open fire as soon as someone enters gun range and I don't think WG is interested in rewriting AI to hold fire until detected for these.

At the same time "night" part should be much darker, like it used to be back in the day. Sure, it can pose visibility issues at times, something solveable by adding "brighter nights" toggle in visual settings for those who can't see? In OG Cherry Blossom team was limited to cruisers only, now you can bring BBs and Carriers of your own. I find it too easy for the same reason as posted above: So far I've won all 11 Operations with all secondary objectives done without a hint of conscious coordination between players.
-
Took you awhile to update PTS section But to sum up my experience and what could be done better: Single-tier matchmaking whenever possible, Two-tier at very worst. Being single tier 6 tossed into tier 8 heavy team isn't particularly fun facing upscaled enemies while also having ship crippled on game-mechanics grounds - lack of HE pen for light cruisers, lack of overmatch for BBs while being overmatched in return. Enemy scaling. Replacing enemies with higher tiered ships is mostly okay, but buffing existing tier 5-6 ships is not really working. Perfect example - buffed New Mexico. She might have hp pool of a tier 8, but in practice she is just damage sponge to any tier 8 CL or BB, having no HE resistance, while also lacking guns to be considered even remote threat, unless one consistently sails broadside. Inconsistent AA/secondary activity on enemy ships. Not sure whether bug or deliberate, but for example Hermes and encounter with 4x Ger BB fleet, it usually happens within secondary range, yet enemy secondaries remain silent (and yes, I know stock range is in 7-8km territory instead closer to 12km). As expected, secondary BBs, CLs and Akizuki reign supreme in the game mode simply by virtue of firepower advantage. Something that could be done later on - introduction of "hard mode Operations" for tier 9, maybe tier 10 ships, where enemies exclusively would consist of tier 10-11 vessels, including ones buffed with extra hp to act as mini bosses of the stage.

Buy TX ships for anniversary or event...or not?
Panocek replied to Charles__Vane__'s topic in General Discussion
Main improvement Gearing brings are guns, one barrel extra but also much more useful turret layout, making her much better at engaging enemy DDs than "just one barrel extra" would imply otherwise. 21mm plating also allows her to shrug off 113mm and 120mm HE shells used by Daring and Halland twins, other two DDs that have similar gunpower and concealment. 16km torps also allow you to reach out and touch someone from quite a distance and you'd be surprised how many 2nd line baBBies catch these. Since Kita concealment nerf, Harugumo have only 100m worse detection. She still handles like a barge though. Still, my biggest issue with Harugumo is fact there are destroyers with similar gunpower to her, but without concealment or handling penalty, which leaves her only advantage of 30mm HE pen. -

Panocek replied to Charles__Vane__'s topic in General Discussion
Gearing is alright, her biggest issue is just like with Harugumo - you have amazing ship proceeding her. From lines you're currently grinding, Daring is effectively a must have, if you are already seeing the light with Jervis as a cap contester. Cleveland and following ships... not so much. Yueyang can be decent especially since TRB addition, though she overlaps as "T10 torpedoboat" with Gearing bit too much. Supercrates are of... questionable value, certainly odds of getting ship from them are extremely low. So I'd focus on them if you find yourself in flag/eco booster shortage, as these probably are the most likely drops from them. Maybe occasional premium account, some dubs, coal or steel. -
Now thats hardly a "no gimmicks line" now, does it? Pure torpedoboat line would be embarrassingly obsolete from day one, not unless you give them homing torps and all kinds of other fascinating nonsense to justify abysmal guns. For starters I'd buff Russian destroyers in general, because both main gunboat line both aged poorly in playstyle and were powercrept by French, while mixmash of Oggy->Grozo line is just mediocre across the board. Buffing AP angles to 60-67.5 or perhaps even 60-75 degrees would be good starting point? Oggy certainly could use concealment buff, maybe even down to 5.4-5.5km and global buff above. Udaloi... I don't see how to buff her without instantly powercreeping Tashkent, I guess the best option would be replacing her with Project 56 ship, essentially turning tier 9 into "tech tree Neustrashimy". That way she can be sneaky torpedobote and not be removed from global buff above. And to differentiate Pr.56 replacement from Neustra - latter keeps zombie heal, but doesn't get SAP/improved AP Grozovoi could do undoing nerfs to main gun and torpedo reloads, coupled with global buff she should be slightly more bearable?
