more than one Division on a random game

You're like 8 years late as such tictac was common in World of Tanks since beginning Operations are purely PvE with clearly defined objectives to meet, though looking at most random players, its not clear ENOUGH. And I'm afraid unless WG develops some option to b!tchslap someone through the screen it will stay that way 4v4 game sounds like playing at very odd hours with not enough people to fill up the ranks.

    Cruisers?

Which is working as intended, otherwise "PvE" crowd would be spread out too thin to play anything. And even if they would, complaints about "PvE boring/dull" would arise from repeated grinding the same, presumably easiest Operation. Which are already bad as half of Operations is shelved, waiting for AI learn how to fly. And when we're at it, some of the Operations are nation specific - Hermes and Cherry Blossom. Former requires US/UK/FR cruisers of tier 7 and French Lyon, Gascogne and Retardieu are allowed. Latter requires US, UK, RU and French tier 8 cruisers. Just a lil incentive to branch out and spend on port slots, premium account and whatnot

    CV rework appreciation thread

Considerable reduction in AA effectiveness in killing planes. After all, primary purpose of "AA defense" is not to obliterate any incoming aircraft, but to prevent harm from being done. CV captain sees AA heavy ship(s) and nope.avi to look somewhere else - task achieved CV captain decides to go all-in, but flak density denies any accurate drops - task achieved AA actually shot someone down? All the better Issue is how to translate that into game rewards. Damage denied from strike as equivalent of potential damage for everyone participating in AA? In return CVs could get better accuracy/less RNG (preposterous) on their drops. Also assuming much reduced losses to the planes and thus ability to fly in full strength squadrons for longer, some delay between launching same type squadron could be in effect? Lets say TB return and CV player can't take off with them for I dunno, 1 minute because "refuel and rearm". Two other squadrons still available. And there gimmicks like Kaga/Saipan could apply - former having shorter refit delay, latter have longer but have faster/tougher/more flak immune planes.

I still believe flak bursts should be not so much "kill zones" as temporarily increase dispersion, then balance (tie?) amount of flak to rate of fire of DP mounts. That way DDs would have near constant stream of flak, making drops on them tricky, while BBs and cruisers would have time windows to exploit

    Cruisers?

Lowtier premiums like Campbeltown don't really have increased income, tier 5 and 6 silver ships are sweetspot for making credits. That or Operations, assuming you get reliably winning team Just a hint
  7. "Main" missions are quite historically themed, (in)famous fox mines are game take-on of battle of Midway. Number of event missions also have historical background like battle of Savo Island or Scharnhorst hunt. Quite a number of characters directly or indirectly mention ship past, most obvious would be Juneau's "five familiar faces" or Mogami tendency to share space and time with other vessels. An then there is ever popular "top heavy" trait, portrayed in certain fashion
  8. Later stages and when not using maxed out fleet can put some challenge to "way too easy"
  9. I guess not being balanced around large amount of crappy planes or small amount of overtiered planes have its merits too. That and actually viable dive bombers as Kaga have IIRC rather... peculiar ones?

    Cruisers?

Unique Jack Dunkirk captain have few improved skills and personally I find him working best on UK battleships due to improved Expert Marksman (turret traverse) and improved Jack of all Trades (quicker consumable reload). Former skill is not that needed on UK cruisers and definitely a waste on tier 9 and 10, though latter is not a bad idea. Priority Target is never a bad idea on all ships except carriers Its combination of very thin hull, as up to and including tier 7 heavy cruisers and their 203mm AP will overmatch you and exposed citadel, which is EXTRA exposed on tier 9 and 10. Actual citadel thickness is in line with other cruisers, though Caldeon, Danae and Emerald can be citadeled by even small caliber HE due to 16-25mm citadel deck acting as main deck of the ship That said, Leander and Fiji are one of the better ships for Operations due to "oh " smoke and handful of heals to patch yourself, while latter fixes any issues you might have with lack of firepower due to having 12gun broadside and very serviceable range. Edinburgh is literally Fiji with some extra AA, longer ranged torps and better camo, but suffers from tier 8 MM. Neptune improves reload of main battery and gets fearsome AA, but its first ship with EXTRA exposed citadel and its the only ship in line with actually crappy concealment. Minotaur is well worth it, combining one of the highest DPMs in game with stealth, 8 torps/side and one of the finest AA in game. Still made of glass though, so its definition of high risk-high reward.
  11. Reminds me of old polish joke/meme
  12. Actually, amount of rockets tossed at the red one doesn't change - 3x6, but they gain massively in damage - from 2200 to 3450 (Cleveland to Zao basically)
  13. Its worse in terms of dispersion and arming distance, but then you throw more of them they hit harder, so pray to RNGesus hard enough I guess?
  14. Dunno, mail with "extracting salt with aircraft carrier" bachelors degree should arrive soon and it applies to both nations.

    Cruisers?

And Gadjah Mada is the same but have Engine Boost for extra speed, 200m better concealment, much better smoke and 1km longer torps which makes her superior unless you count on torping other DDs on regular basis.

    Cruisers?

Hybrids and IMO of the bad end, guns with okay dps but mediocre ballistics until tier 8 Lightning and short-ish ranged torps. Single torps option opens up some nice possibilities, though I find UK DDs average, combining only "okay" speeds without option of Engine Boost, average-mediocre concealment (with Lightning and premium Cossack being exception). Tier 9 and 10 require IFHE to make their HE shells actually do damage to 19mm plating (DD hulls, BB superstructures) due to too small caliber, AP is buffed though so akin to RN cruisers, you might get by without IFHE. Add to that gimmicky smoke and "defensive", as in short ranged but long lasting Hydroacoustic Search, so unless very close you can't bully other DDs out like German DDs, but you can spot torps for quite long time And this is my problem with WoWs - in terms of content it seems far and wide like ocean, but actual depth is like a puddle. Destroyers in general are perfect example - initial three lines - USN, IJN and RU covers every niche you would expect from destroyer. USN covers short range gunnery and cap contests and on later tiers, torpedo boat niche, IJN are (usually) high concealment torpedo boats and Russians are long range and high speed fire support. Germans got pressed into that triangle with stupid smoke+hydro combo with gun and torp stats being something in between with concealment taking a hit. Any next line adds exceptions and gimmicks simply to stay relevant while (usually) trying to not render old lines obsolete, which in turn makes new line questionable - why I'd want new French destroyers if they are going to straight up be inferior to Russian gunboats at actual gunnery, while torps are making IJN skippers blush with no smoke nor heal in return to make up for mistakes? Why I'd want UK destroyer for cap fights if I already have USN, unless they have crucial stat advantage like Lightning/Cossack concealment or actually effective gimmick like German hydro on Z-52?

HMS Implacable. What am I doing wrong?

And 30% dispersion penalty in case of players getting any ideas of bombing anything smaller than continent

HMS Implacable. What am I doing wrong?

I don't own Implantable (yet) but Furious TB are on okay end. Issue is, IJN equivalent have more potent torps and AP bombs despite being niche weapon, they are good at their job, unlike UK carpet bombers and rockets are equally meh.
  19. Enty is stuck with AP bombs, Saipan should retain 2x bomb loadout, after all "balans is of done". Though WG might just reduce attack wing to two bombers, so DDs will be shrekt only instead extra shrekt. Or 4x1 bomb setup. Which still doesn't solve anything as even Ranger with 3x1 bomb drop when RNGesus says "da" inflicts a lot of butthurt. Who would have thought if you drop 1000lb on something is going to hurt? Dispersion nerf against doesn't solve anything, as again, if RNGesus approves, bombs will connect and salt will flow. Changing to smaller poundage bombs like Langley's 500lbers might reduce effectiveness against DDs, but will leave DBs borderline useless against anything else. Increase bomb load? We're back to square one. And "lots of bombs" is already UK flavor This is part where option to change loadout mid game would be EXTRA handy. Small, accurate 250/500lb bombs against DD or roll dice with hard hitting 1000lb+ samples of Freedom.

Well, if Shokek TB can drop ordnance through considered uncomfortable amount of AA and at least some planes return by maximum abuse of attack run dmg reduction and heals WG recently increased amount, then salt is going to flow anyway. And even then, team (alternatively RNGesus) will do anything to screw game up 20190328_084422_PJSA108-Shokaku_38_Canada.wowsreplay added screenshots
  21. I might agree with that. Game is in actual european-common language and can be bit more user demanding than click2rng
  22. Which always was the case. If something is too good, instead nerfing what makes *vehicle* too good, WG changes everything except OP part, resulting in still overpowered but unfun toy to play with. Best example - World of Tanks and Foch 155 tank destroyer. WG invention of *what if Frenchies would upgun their existing Foch* and they gave it 155mm gun (very large by tonk standards) and autoloader to it, so it can dump 3 rounds in quick succession then run for lengthy reload. Apparently ability to one-clip tier 10 tanks was deemed overpowered, so WG obliterated tank handling, aim time, dispersion BUT left offending 3shot 155mm, so when stars align and RNGesus says "da", you still can 3shot tier 10 tank

    Cruisers?

Quite a few midtier BBs have deck platings within reach of IFHE'd 180mm (38mm) Kongo/Fuso Konig, also Bayern lower deck and bit of the bow Orion Bretagne/Normandie/Lyon deck actually, only Bayern upper deck, Iron Duke and Scharnhorst class are out of reach for IFHE'd 180mm, excluding obvious armor belts and such People take IFHE on Henri IV simply to counter two specific ships, here you have more options And Furutaka/Aoba/Myoko hull is 25mm, well within reach of default HE pen on 180mms If premium Molotov or some faildivisioning is on order, then IFHE is even more needed for 32mm breakpoint (and then North Carolina and South Dakota class decks)
