    What cruiser line to play?

Considering OP is having fun in Omaha of all ships, concept of paper armor+exposed citadel seems to be familiar to him already

    Update 0.8.2.0.1

    What cruiser line to play?

Pensacola is a monster with her 10gun broadside of American Piercing, she is also VERY maneuverable with only drawback being turret traverse and glass for armor. New Orleans and further don't have issues with turret traverse, though with tiers up average engagement distance increases, so ballistics can leave something to be desired, especially from Baltimore onwards, which gets Superheavy American Piercing. Dallas is mediocre, but after her is Helena. Absolute monster - good maneuverability, although not that fast, just like other USN cruisers past Omaha, good turret traverse and firing arcs, FIFTEEN quick loading guns to bury with ordnance. Ballistics are... bad tho, same guns as Dallas and they are used all the way till the end. Cleveland is also fine ship, even if T8 MM can be bumpy at times. RU cruisers are fast and have excellent ballistics, but turning 404 not found, they sail straight at Berlin IJN are fast and quite stealthy, though turret traverse and ship turning radius can be found wanting. They rely mostly on hit and run, firing salvo or two only to disappear later, their torpedo complement is brutal, although from tier 6 onwards launchers are facing backwards, limiting their offensive potential, but making them prime choice for kiting enemies. AA is... 404 not found UK have gimmicky ship handling - obscene acceleration from standstill, they don't lose speed on turns, but abysmal deacceleration, which makes moves like reverse-then-forward embarrassingly slow, but have USN CL like ballistics. And cruiser line start getting in shape from Leander onwards. They have smoke and heal consumables, but are limited to AP shells only. Granted, very improved AP, but still AP shells. Frenchsters, especially from tier 8 onwards are excellent pick for open water gunboating - form tier 6 they have Engine Boost consumable and Main Battery Reload Booster, former to temporarily improve speed and acceleration, latter doubles rate of fire for short time. Shame tier 6 and 7 are straight up THE slowest ships and even with Boost they can't keep up with RU/IJN, ballistics mildly better than US/IJN Germans are long range fire support, meh ship handling, until tier 8 made of glass. AP have above average damage but lacking penetration especially at range due to high initial shell velocity but lightweight shells, HE have pitful damage but increased penetration. Ballistics are so-so on CLs and very decent on CA. For open water jackassery maybe try Russian... destroyers? They might have icon of a DD, but they are very light cruisers in gameplay, relying on speed, WSAD hax and touch of russian bias to lob 130mm shells with superb ballistics. Though due to CV reworks going and staying, you might want to pick ships with actual AA, something Russian gunboats lacks I'm afraid, while being "DD" constantly visible due to shooting they will get all sorts of flying attention

Wargaming vs Yostar which side are you on

I can understand WG vs Gaijin fights as their games are similar in content and gameplay, but WG vs Yostar/Manjuu is like comparing Microsoft to Honda - both are companies, producing their own stuff and having their own dramas
  6. I'd rather have "direct control of Dual Purpose guns" under "4" or other key. That way player could directly aim with DP guns against both aerial (manually spawning flak) and surface targets depending on the lock on. For surface targets 15cm guns or other, not AA capable guns could throw some lead as well. If not used, they could fire automatically but with reduced effectiveness. Skill wise, BFT would work as it used to, increasing reload speed by 10%, AFT could reduce dispersion against both surface and aerial targets (or range for both, not sure). "Manual Secondaries" could be replaced with "Improved Gun Directors", increasing range and reducing dispersion even further against surface, "Manual AA" could be replaced with "Proximity Fuses", increasing flak dmg and/or AoE If mobile plebians can to it (at least surface part), why PCmustardrice cannot?
  7. Thing is, AA doesn't get split up when two or more targets are in range, while with sector you can increase effectiveness against all targets within sector.
  8. Nah, that will be feature of RU carriers with IL-2s having vodka injection for boost, increasing durability instead speed for boost duration.
  9. Yep, playerbase is leaving since 2016 and Arpeggio collab. And somehow it stays stable.

    CV Rework Discussion

Because your boss says so, unless you want your head to get acquainted with quarterly financial report freshly used to bash your superior or you're willing to part ways with quarterly bonus Speaking of finances, question for WG staff @MrConway @Crysantos @Sehales 1st and 2nd Directives have missions for Boise/Nueve de Julio with accompanying rent offer in premium store, while 3rd and 4th batch of Directives have mission for premium CVs. Does that mean option to rent them will arrive to the premium store?
  11. Thing is, with only one squadron, unless there are two CVs in game you can't really "target greater threat", so if going with old mechanics, Ctrl+click would give flat 30% dps boost, which is about as automated as selecting sector reinforcement. Actually, in this case sector switching is more skill intensive, as to get the most out of it you need to time switching right.

    CV Rework Discussion

Too long reaction time, often permitting at least one attack while fighters themselves use rather derpy logic "kill as many planes as fighters", which hurts extra hard UK carriers and their smaller squads. If you improve fighter reaction time, CVs will grief each other by planting unavoidable fighters on each other or more likely, will cheese fighters by summoning your own fighters ASAP, so we're back to square one
  13. QE is one of the few chars you get strong urge to scuttle her. Repeatedly.
  14. UK cruisers often follow "maid" theme, battleships/battlecruisers often are depicted as aristocrats. Don't ask me why. And Belfapst is in game

    CV Rework Discussion

That and reaction time of fighters is long enough for at least one ordnance delivery to happen, so one of few semi viable uses of fighters is to preemptively plant them over cap entering DD with hope of discouraging strike, at expense of basically pinpointing DD location. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, reeee all the time.
  16. Yucky is one of the less disturbing examples, just standard issue catgirl, that... barks?. Z-23 could be "safely" introduced as well and her broomstick as spine prosthesis might actually fit in game if one needs calm and collected (and actually not that squeaky) voiceover Reminds me of discussion with police officer about knife in my car's toolbox during routine control -why you have knife, are you going to stab people with it? -its useful -its sharp and can be used to kill people -so I can give swing with this wheel wrench for some quality skull cracking. If first thought upon seeing knife is ripping people, maybe its not the knife an issue but person?
  17. Author behind Friedrich went with "evil conductor" style, which doesn't look bad, while horns seems to be rather headgear. Deutschland doesn't seem outlandish, one has some sort of firearm, other have bigass claws because reasons, both having signature red strand of hair. Just because they are "sisters" doesn't mean they have to look similar, case in point, New Orleans trio. Or Brooklyns. Or King George V class, both swordmasters (?) but one blunt and straightforward, other using archaic english in poetic and tempting way, while being vampiric elf. Because reasons Dude, you're asking for logic. In 2d stuff
  18. The same reason most IJN have cat/dog/bunny ears, horns, tails or variation of thereof. Design choice/trope? Though girls themselves are more or less uniformed, their "rig" is of "evil" variety in well, "iron and blood" colors. And then Graf Zeppelin have angry metal shrimp
  19. While you could copy/paste Galant as Grenville, it wouldn't quite fit due to UK habit of building first of DD class larger as "flotilla leader", with extra facilities for leadership and more importantly game wise, extra gun, hence she is "bigger" than her sister Glowworm. Sirius/Dido class I have hard time imagining to be higher than tier 6, maybe 7 if overbuffed. 10x slow-ish reloading DD guns don't quite cut it while AA complement is laughable.
  20. I'd throw Vampire into the mix of "dangerous", though WoWs one was seen only once as 2017 christmas mini mission, next to DoY marathon. Shame, she is one feisty gunboat to pew pew around Ajax could be added purely for trolling owner(s) though, Yukikaze might not be quite well received as well. I've picked Taiho simply because she is/used to be in game. Otherwise Illustrious and Sirius are go-to for Though naughty sword wielding maid might get popular besides two most obvious reasons
  21. I wonder how drama it would get if WoWs would introduce AL destroyer characters Kinda shame Taiho got shelved
  22. "Free stuff in general" there is no shortage, especially camos, coal and occasional ship, though some breathing room wouldn't hurt, instead going from one daily marathon to another. Lets say those are some of less disturbing characters. And considering how popular AL gets, I guess makes them money so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  23. All Arpeggio ships and captains were all freely available in missions, though some were... PTSD inducing like Nachi. Haifuri from free goods had Yamato semi-premium camouflage and fat cat captain, Harekaze, Graf Spee and captains were behind paywall 1st Azur Lane had for free initially Nelson, rest of the captains behind paywall, though later Hipper and Aurora were obtainable for free 2nd Azur Lane presumably will have only Azuma as freebie, akin to Freemium Nelson. No matter how I look at it, trend is rather downwards
  24. Presumed as much, though I'd like to see Shokaku as well. Besides, any thoughts on "cloning existing ships" idea? with emphasis on cheap because I know you for too long now and free stuff is getting increasingly rare

Who remember playing against the old CV

Even if WG nerfhammers HE dive bombers, Enty will stay as it is, so it will be Kamikaze story all over again - silver counterpart gets brutalized and "merely good" premium becomes OP by default, pulled off the store and here we go again
