Update 0.8.3 - Dasha manages to keep serious?
Panocek replied to Deckeru_Maiku's topic in General Discussion
https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/143025-for-steam-players-easy-log-in-with-existing-account-fix/ then by deleting/renaming steam_api.dll you should be able to log in on steamWoWs with Barney account... in theory -
Update 0.8.3 - Dasha manages to keep serious?

Why two accounts to start with? Dunno how Steam WoWs work, guessing you weren't simply given a login/password to insert into WGC? -

British Tier VIII Aircraft Carrier Implacable
Panocek replied to Puffin_'s topic in General Discussion
Free Exp through Implacable with hope of Auda being slightly less inane. Though she seems to simply add more stuff to throw at the red ones without fixing core issues like low HE pen on bombs. Granted, they improve a bit, adding USN BBs to the list of viable targets but still not enough for German/IJN/Russian hightier armored decks -
British Tier VIII Aircraft Carrier Implacable

Enterprise CAP wipes any T8 CV squadron, so Implacable isn't speschul here My main issue is, for torpedo oriented CV, there is already Shokaku which is better at torping stuff, have vastly larger TB reserves and AP bombs, while specialized, they are good at what they do, unlike carpet bombing with firecrackers. Top it off with viable concealment build resulting in meme 6.1km TB detection and 9.8km carrier itself, running around at almost 36kts. -
British Tier VIII Aircraft Carrier Implacable
Panocek replied to Puffin_'s topic in General Discussion
Implacable is basically forced to use TB against anything resembling reinforced deck, while bombs are rather dubious choice against DDs and even cruisers due to dispersion, though can be used to start fires. Then there are tiny reserves and lengthy replacement times... About usage, generic CV theme seems to work, sort of - start with rockets, spot and harass singled out ships. Then depending on who sticks out, bring appropriate planes. And avoid catapults/CAP like a plague, as they are the best UK/Saipan counter -
I'd say Miss still earns more, if you compare somewhat similar base exp results Just because your definition of "ok battle" in Enty starts from 3k+ base exp doesn't mean its average joe result

"hurr durr tea battlebotes are all about HE" Technically, 380mm guns are enough to overmatch T7 BBs, but 406 enables to lolpen US/Ger heavy cruisers while extending effective range against main BB belts. DoY AP is also pretty damn decent, only if dispersion could be less retarded at times

☆ Manually controlled AA can not work! ♡
Panocek replied to Yosha_AtaIante's topic in General Discussion
The very example why such large game change should be tested on live, but within limited environment instead some shady server you need to create separate account and redownload entire game, provided you find actual news article about it under pile of "check out new premium sale" -

Whole rework could be started as Operation or special Ranked season(s) with "reworked" ships provided before turning entire server on its head -

Automated flak spawns on PREDICTED flight path, which you can easily play around by coming at an angle to the target and then turning towards at last second. With manual flak placement player *could* spawn them closer, if not on top of incoming planes Alternatives to manual AA that could be "skillfully applied by ear breathing potatoes" besides current Sector I can think of would be directional AA. 100% dps/flak available when ship is broadside but (for example) only 25% when bow/stern on. Ideally checking for LoS for each mount would be perfect, but setting firing angles for each and every mount in every ship sounds like perfect penal labor for misbehaving developer -
Maybe escort destroyers are an answer to DD players complaints regarding CV rework?
Panocek replied to HussarKaz's topic in General Discussion
This is question to WG why they come up with such brainfart of an idea. Or roll back to RTS and disable manual drops for all carriers, then perfect balans can be found -
Dunno, only thing lacking in Ayyygle is shell velocity, though workable up to 11km and gun firing arcs. Turret traverse is fixable with EM. Granted, I've got ger for free from marathon and I wouldn't bought her otherwise, because I had no need of potential Croissant DD trainer. But if WG shoved it into my dock, it doesn't hurt taking her for a spin.

Maxing concealment because not being seen and shot at is intrinsically overpowered? Stacking survivability skills and upgrades to laugh at fire/flood in BB, basically negating small caliber HE? Stacking secondaries because dealing damage with main battery is too mainstream? Stacking AA to shoot down planes?

Arizona is basically New Mexico trading AA for improved main gun accuracy. Suffers from all-or-nothing armor layout (25mm plating everywhere, so HE hurts and 380mm+ overmatches). Glacially slow, I'd suggest getting New Mexico first then see for yourself, if you like such playstyle. Warspite and Queen Elizabeth is similar story. Latter have better/more consistent secondaries and better long range AA, but uses short time AP fuses and have improved HE shells. Former have conventional AP, "normal" HE shells, better handling, quicker (but still slow) turret traverse and uses quicker reloading but shorter lasting cruiser Damage Control Party (R). Both are accurate by battleship standards, 380mm overmatch 25mm plating but with only 8 guns you need to make shots count. Slow, but not glacial slow at 24kts and like US battleships, suffer from all-or-nothing armor.

Besides some power metal to listen, small tidbit in the description In video briefly appears Ark Royal with Swordfishes (2:33) and Sheffield (3:29)

Player aimed AA, even if shape of DP guns spawning flak could be starting point. You can rely on automated AA or aim them yourself for maximum effect. -
Okt.Rev always had meaty mid range AA complement and this trait remained true

RTS AA was pure, unmoderated RNG where you pitted "dps" against "hp" as dice roll. You could crank up "dps" to increase odds of something falling from the sky, but it was still RNG based mechanic, while with double stacking AA range cruisers could shut down significant piece of map with island safety. Post rework you have actual dps and actual health for planes, with RNG being in flak placement. -
Define "worth it" Making credits? High tier choices are valid picks, Jean Bart have high (but not Missouri high) credit coefficient, while being solid battlecruiser with hilarious AA. Salem is Des Moines knock off, doesn't have credit modifiers but comes with Tier 10 premium paint, so she earns just fine. Having fun? Hard to quantify, some people have fun wiping themselves with cheese grater. Lowtiers can be used for laughs, but nothing special otherwise. Aigle is IMO fun DD and arguably the best pick for Operations due to obscene amount of hp, one of the best in class gunpower and torps since range buff aren't something to sneeze at, while lacking concealment is irrelevant. Only issue would be French DD line being still in development, though should come this year I guess.

You mean counterplay based on friendly CV not being potato, having fighters at right time and place and not busy lining up his own attack run? -
There isn't much use for coal anyway, if you're not interested in ships, while signals are tad expensive to purchase them without discount. Unique upgrades are worth for specific ships like Engine Boost mod 1 for Russian gunboats or French cruisers. Improved skills can come in handy for specific ships like Dunkirk improved JoaT to help with lengthy British Heal cooldown on hightier UK ships. Improved Expert Marksman is nice quality of life, though not really gamebreaking.

WG could "for balancing reasons" give such frigates obscene AA dps because reasons. Or could simply buff AA for DDs. Thing is, with current flawed, binary AA design revolving around unavoidable, constant dps you either have ineffective AA, unable to stop attack runs or you have overpowered AA, which denies all strikes, which renders entire class as spotters, incapable of doing anything on their own. -

RTS carriers could nullify DDs just fine before... If anything people got used to lack of carriers in games
