TiTs hit for about 1700dmg per rocket on unsaturated area. Record on Midway, landing 9/9 on Montana was tad over 16k. Saipan throws only 6 TiTs IIRC, so it sounds more like HVARxington winning on accuracy lottery.

Narai. Make use of it. In randoms... AP works on broadside cruisers you can reliably citadel and at shorter ranges against battleships, for angled stuff and cruisers you can't overmatch have HE ready. Above average reload at 25s certainly can be handy at times.

Its rather simple. Bigger boat = more mounts = more dakka. Bonus points for extra survivability and bigger boomsticks because "bigger boat". Even if you completely detach AA dps from amount of guns, BB are still going to have long term AA survivability because they have so much more AA guns. Example: Minotaur mid range comes from only 8 gun mounts. They provide a lot of dakka, but losing even one gives considerable hit to AA effectiveness. Montana packs 20 mounts of quad Bofors and with her main guns being protected well enough, Auxiliary Armaments mod1 to double AA/secondaries hp (which already were doubled with the rework) isn't that bad choice. Luxury Minotaur and most cruisers can't afford.

Or, you know, enable more than 1 CV in Operations, also permitting T8 CVs into T7 Ops. You want to cosplay Pearl Harbor on Killer Whale? Get 7 Ryujos and bomb base to kingdom come.

You force single CV per team. That means: -CV queues would get uncomfortably long -you would be guaranteed to have CV in every battle I don't quite see how first option sits with purpose of rework, to make CVs more popular, especially after rolling premium carriers on sale

Taking Iowa vs Fletcher, for cost of single Iowa you had 16 Fletchers. Or WG haven't thought out possibility of two+ carriers molesting the same target AA interacts independently with squadrons, regardless how many there are within range.

And did it hit something of value, wounded someone with shrapnel or simply gave something to do for damage control party to stop the air draft and/or water splashing inside? Because two holes and few bent skin sheets is far from fatal. For "significant emotional event" torpedoes IRL fit the bill better, as New Orleans experienced guess where front turret is, because certainly its not on the ship -

First option. And its upgrade that actually enables AA challenged ships to actually hope to shoot something down, when their flak count goes from 1 to 3. Obviously, that requires CV player to not avoid flak bursts in first place.

Rather with Zao+range mod you're tempted with safe and comfortable BB molesting from afar, while Des Memes ballistics don't allow such luxury. Radar and short-mid range firepower helps with cap contesting and DD/cruiser fights. Former gives easy spotting damage, latter requires less damage done for same exp payout. Still, short of stuffing Yamato with torps cruiser can't quickly dispatch battleship and certainly not via fires.

Damage by itself is meaningless, what matters is %hp damage done. Entire battle spent on roasting single battleship for 100k, half of which he recovered gives about as much reward as two-three salvos in DD.
