Going by Stuntman mathwork, Des Moines vs Audacious rockets go from "roughed up squadron" to 3 plane kills within 10s timeframe of mid range AA... before applying any AA modifiers and assuming 100% flak evasion sounds extra balans I can live with some cruisers being AA powerhouses... but if you look at recent ship additions, you're hard pressed to spot NOT AA powerhouses. Even Yamato got meme 1k short range DPS, making her actually good at farming returning planes and only actually mediocre AA is on ze Germans

  7. Ship basically built and advertised around stealth firing gets stealth firing removed. Same you could say about Kutuzov, which got 8km smoke firing detection

This concept allowed ships to cause damage to the entire squadron. So, if the aircraft hovered over a ship too long, her AA defenses could shoot down most of them. However, if a squadron was flying over a ship for a short amount of time, there were situations when all the aircraft were damaged, but not a single plane was brought down. To make the destruction of aircraft more consistent, AA defense mounts now inflict damage only to the last aircraft in the squadron. Thus, a player can be confident that their AA defenses are focused on a single target, shooting it down much quicker as a result. At the same time, most of a squadron’s aircraft will remain untouched during the attack, especially those in the attacking flight. The first planes in the squadron will receive damage only if a player is unable to avoid the shell explosions of AA defenses. AA dps will damage planes one-by-one instead applying damage randomly. It will improve perceived AA effectiveness for surface ships but at the same time will kill CVs with long replacement times and/or low reserves.
  12. IIRC S_O on reddit mentioned he is aware of dps change affecting heal/AR and its not an issue, as flak damage will still apply to all planes affected, so Heal is your button to fix your lack of WSAD and AR to reward you for your potatness

    Funny, because any other ship class I play, its supposed "victim" refuses to die simply to my presence supersonic kek. 35kts, equal to any other non IJN CV is fairly fast now About as much as single BB pen... muchos damagos camrade, especially when you have limited amount of means of delivering that damage.

    Except CV skillgap WG edition means impassable/unavoidable hurdles instead something you could apply, I dunno, skill to evade/reduce? Unless your definition of skill is "late game, CV vs [AA ship]: GG no re" simply because that AA ship is unreachable or you can drop ordnance once at expense of entire squadron Buff that gets shot down HARD by one-by-one AA dps Besides, GZ have THE highest bomb pen in game and before buff, it was only few mm short of Haku bombs at 350mm or so. What breaks GZ bombs is (too) flat trajectory, so bombs can have all the pen in the world but they detonate before reaching citadel proper
  17. My guess it will overmatch as usual AP, but it will behave accordingly to 0.00s fuse time - if overmatched effective armor triggers fuse, it will be regular pen. Otherwise it will travel further until it meets appropriate plate to arm and go poof
  18. Dunno if pasta battleboats will get SAP but its clear WG is running out of gimmicks. On other hand, getting UK CL rounds in CA caliber (or American Piercing without overpen) might turn interesting, to say the least. And IIRC Italians had quite a few heavy cruisers at their disposal? Presumably like Salem, as in T10 premium repair cost with appropriate premium paint, so 45k repair bill and 20% extra credits?

  20. Unlikely to do bait and switch two days before release. Two weeks? Maybe. But then we're dealing with WG so you never know what kind of surprise mechanic they will pull off this time

    Considering I like iBucky more than Zao... What I don't like is fact she is large cruiser, thus with full fire duration, making tank specced Yamato captain rather handy.

    She should be slightly less glass (more like porcelain?), certainly large cruiser with torpedo option is novelty. Considering she, just like Azuma doesn't like brawls due to extra high citadel, have noice range and 20km torpedoes, she would fit just right into campy meta with occasional memes Besides, didn't Yoshie got reload buff to 18.5s or WG is doing WG things as usual?
