Question is, how? 25% main/secondary gun range? Improving flak damage is next to useless, improving flak positioning could be a thing, but then, that would be easy to overdo, especially as invisible flak is still a thing.

Standard issue, potato, mk.1 already have hard time computing what that exclamation mark gives, so I wouldn't be surprised if aerial camo buff rollback wouldn't be more beneficial

Or you could solve that by rolling back aerial detection buff and taking away "detected" info for squadron. That way CV have to pretty much stumble upon DD or have rough idea where it was before due to, I dunno, teamwork?

And you know as well any discussion and even poking WG staff with reasonable ideas is about as effective for game development as "fu WG Im out" rageposts, ie not very much So at least you can statpad your post count with all the CV threads

If it would be randomized (because WG) not so much in flak placement in terms of left-right-center, as forward-backward, flak evasion wouldn't be as predictable. That or turn flak from damage to "panic" temporarily increasing spread, so catching one would end with reduced accuracy and possibly ineffective drop instead "I've left squadron there, do you have any idea where its gone?"

Well, no matter how hard you try, you can't make ship: Somalia edition look good. Detailed and mad max-ish? I agree. Beautiful? Not really. And if exterior have such amount of rust, interiors should be held by zipties, duct tape and Word of God. -
With WoWs blitz I've noticed a trend, with "follow up" titles of the same flavor (WoTB, WoWsB) developers of these titles tend to fix most gripes. Lack of arty, +-1 MM in WoTB, lack of secondary control (WoWsB). Dunno about boats portable, but tonks portable still have their share of quackups, otherwise it wouldn't be Wargaming

Which I wonder, if Kaga approach wouldn't be sort-of solution. Not necessarily large squadrons, but hefty reserves of otherwise origami planes.

And it would bring us nowhere, except aerial torpedo would deal not 9k damage in Haku case, but around 15k, if not more. Enough to give more than significant emotional event to struck DD or even cruiser. Initially carriers were estimated to be "DoT" damage dealers... which would be fine, if not for WG slashing in half flood chance with very first hotfix of the REEEwork, and then reworking flood to be net nerf, unless you somehow cause double flood on someone with DCP on cooldown.

Then you would have to bump alpha damage up quite a bit as currently its "balanced" around multiple passes, so whenever ordnance connects, whine would follow. That and you would have to pretty much triple plane hp or cut down dps to 1/3, if "squadrons" would be reduced to one attack wing.

Where you draw the line how many planes dropping their payload is "balanced"? AA varies wildly between ships, so squadron of 9x TB from lets say, Shokaku delivering their payload into Musashi with maybe one plane lost or 7/9 shot down on their approach towards Iowa?

Just like Ganguts and they I guess even saw some service. Chapayevs, Kronshtadt, Stalingrad, Soyuz also were under construction.

Except Russians at least managed to build one BB from ones we have in game (even in 4 copies), while Sovietsky Soyuz was under construction, unlike your marvel of wasting Deutschland Stahl

Its no secret WG player only should be concerned with "battle" button location. Detailed ship stats? Gun penetration? Nah, only numbers WG player should be concerned with are on his/her/apache credit card -
To give you clue how "highly" WG thinks of their playerbase just look at CV hull and consumable control... and sad part is, they aren't wrong with it.

Trying to click on these three pixels you would guess to be a plane could be quite tricky, but click on squadron, which "unclicks" when plane goes down would be one solution. Or as in siemka forum section idea appeared: By default, AA operates in pre 0.8.5 mode - attacking planes randomly. If you set sector and squadron is within sector, then AA is focused on as many planes as there are in attack wing - so Shokaku TB squadron when caught in Sector, one of two planes would be randomly hit by dps. In Midway DB case, one of three planes. If you set sector AND have Manual AA and squadron is within sector, then it operates in 0.8.5 mode, grinding down planes one by one. If planes leave sector, then it works as default, spreading damage randomly.

I guess you're missing the part of managing consumables - if I see Haku on other side, its obvious I'll wait with DFAA and maybe even Cat for DB, because I know he/she/apache will bring bombers when CV notices I've wasted DFAA on rockets or what have you. That and running in circles is surprisingly efficient counter to bombs in general. Midway DB are arguably the hardest hitting option with rockets following.

On other hand Myoko have 10gun salvo, potent torps even if somewhat speschul positioned and the best hp/armor combo.

Considering whole principle of REEEwork is to let at least one attack run through, heavy casualties on first run are somewhat contradicting, while Cats are guaranteed plane kills. Something you solve by triggering DFAA when you're sure you're about to receive attack run. Basic DFAA usage, tracing back to RTS carriers, really. And when you're singled out ship with low 4digit hp and you see DB squad coming your way... I doubt CV player will casually practice bombing on island next to me Again. Yoshino have dps as follows: 261/280/583 Zao: 197/212/400 HIV: 169/633/- Moskva: 217/325/306 Stalingrad: 320/325/500 Hindenburg: 209/592/371 DM: 163/875/211 Salem: 163/875/- Wooster: 248/946/371 Minotaur: 247/1281/317 Only Zao have universally worse AA than Yoshie, while most ships more than make up for her above average long/short AA with doubled mid range. So if one of the worst AA cruisers at tier 10 on her own, with no AA investment can cockblock T10 CV, any other cruiser should be only better at it. Then you throw in BBs with no burst value of DFAA, but their base dps is nothing to sneeze at either.

Keep in mind, that is unbuffed AA. If I had MAA, BFT and what have you I don't think Midway DB squad would made it to the drop at all. On cruiser with again, average base AA. If not for my ship back then having 400hp and heal patching up, I wouldn't used both as I've had already few battles in Ibuki of all ships, capable of inflicting significant casualties post 0.8.5 simply by alternating consumables while patching any damage inflicted just fine. Thats 8 consumables. On a single ship. Team consists of 12 ships. Even writing off 4 of them as DD, that leaves us 7 ships most of which having either Cat, DFAA or sometimes both. Ironically enough, only "AA cruisers" having Cat are USN CA, which usually is traded for Radar. And BB make up for lack of DFAA with base dps of AA, especially short range one, making sure not many planes return. So if average AA ship is expected to be plane immune upon facerolling keyboard, then why bring AA cruiser at all?
