Giving exp/credits simply for laying smoke would be quite easily exploitable. Also spotting torps alone gives exp/credit bonus as "potential damage" That and you're asking a lot for a game famous for lack of teamplay.

its not #buffsaipan, its #getenty Shokaku with rockets can spank pretty much any cruiser except T10 ones with reinforced 30mm deck/amidship. Nurnberg can be one of the very few examples where AP bomb overpen can be a thing, but Yorck arms AP bombs just fine Server places flak damage area and sends info to client to draw flak puffs there. Whether that happens in time, or at all is anyone guess. That and server sometimes places flak within squadron, infamous squad wipe out of blue. What you're missing is lack of premium consumables to throw at the CV

Keep in mind this is "merely" T8 cruiser. If you want to test T10 cruisers I can provide quite a few in varying states of AA specs

Actually, back liners is something I have in abundance for leveling - Fuso, Ise, Nagato, Kongo twins, 9 ships total is about the same level +-70. UK backline also waits with QE, Warspite, PoW and KGV. I guess I'll put Roon on hold, because Kinkyberg sisters are still at 50odd level and might not be able to handle C/D maps. -

Still, not quite liking jiggly physics. That and I'd actually have to insert coin into game, as leftover gems might not suffice. Also 3rd PR ship grind becomes seriously dull -

Boosted return isn't a problem unless facing extraordinary levels of AA, planes going their way home "as intended" after delivering payload is. Planes climbing with predictable flight path for what, 5s is too tempting target to not pew pew at Heck, even post 0.8.5 most casualties occur when returning, not when attacking or lining up another shot.

You underestimate how good Montana/Yamato short range AA is when it comes to farming returning planes, which also can be said for Conqueror/Repu, assuming returning planes cross 1km mark. Then they will be subjected to both dps and flak, as invulnerability window usually propels player controlled planes outside of mid range AA

And yet, compared to other BBs you can call it weak, if not straight up the worst. Monty: 905/719/277 Yamato: 955/-/206 Conqueror: -/815/121 Repu: -/939/291 Kremlin: 864/634/424 GK amount of flak is also disappointing and only on Montana you're not trading main gun accuracy for +2 flaks.

Only part where secondary build benefits AA is either flak damage increase from AA or 10% dps bump for those dumb brave enough to trade SI/BoS for BFT. Overall AA is comparable to Hinden, albeit with worse accuracy stat.

If you think about it, quite a few game mechanics are built around making sure you can't get too effective. Fire chance for example, with Demo and signals you get 3 or 4% fire chance increase. Sounds gud, until you realize ships have built in fire chance reduction, up to 50% for T10. So three points spent and two signals give you 1.5 to 2% improvement. DoT reduction? Multiplicative, so there are diminishing returns with every buff stacked. Only concealment is worthwhile, because you can clearly see its effects. Dispersion upgrade, it "improves" something, but you have hard time telling the difference anyway. Same with AA mod1, +2 flaks is 300% improvement for ship with AA spitting out single flak, but its not really going to be gamechanger.

BFT is no brainer for any gun it applies, downtiering it should warrant nerf if anything.

Except I was talking about plane model swap. In Midway case, stock AD Skyraider should be "top" planes, as they replaced BTD Destroyer in their (very short) service.

Improved parameters of commander skill Survivability Expert: now increased aircraft HP for each ship tier is +25 instead of +15 (+30 instead of +20 unique commanders). At X level, this will give an increase of 250 points to aircraft HP, which will strengthen the aircraft by more than 10% and will allow the squadron to live longer under AA, taking into account the latest changes in mechanics in the update 0.8.5. Sounds sort of reasonable. Still, 100hp extra (150->250) at tier 10 is about one AA tick extra worth of hp. And again, doesn't do anything to solve power spike between tiers.

Secondaries are pointless most of the time though with shift from armored belt to deck, chances of landing hits on superstructure should increase.

6.9*1.2=8.28. Assuming aerial spot would rise accordingly. "Regular" cruiser with AFT would be spotted at 6.96km So AA range increase is totally not case of shooting yourself in the foot

Yes, but since 0.8.5 only way to actually harm attack wing is to eat flak with it. And IIRC focusing dps on attack wing was tested, but as WG can't be arsed with fixing crosshair jumping when plane dies, it rendered carries completely inept at accurate ordnance delivery.

S_O mentioned something about secondary REEEwork in long term plans, I wonder is AFT could be part of it, like range+dispersion buff at once, stackable with Manual Secondaries. That or shift of aiming point from waterline to deck
