    Upcoming Battleship buff

You haven't expected ship that can cause harm to baBBies to last in this game have you?

    Upcoming Battleship buff

Effective armor must be equal or higher (?) than 1/6 of shell caliber, thus 356mm PewPewKanone needs to encounter 59mm effective armor to arm. Something hard to do, as 25mm plating gets such effective thickness well into guaranteed ricochet angle. Shells that overmatch on other hand, have more armor to arm themselves. So yea, that is going to be cruiser nerf overall, just like buffing hightier DD hulls from 16mm to 19mm totally didn't increased BB AP occurrences

    Upcoming Battleship buff

Exactly you can't have "global change" that doesn't buff BBs one way or another 1/4 is highly unlikely, after all how WG is supposed to sell you a new premium? There is Boise fulfilling the same T7 premium CL niche already with convenient 152mm guns, so IFHE will remain relevant... sort of.

    Upcoming Battleship buff

I've meant WG game having semblance of balans, when all ships have identical stats and differ only in skins in AL "identical" stats happen only among sister ships and even then, they often have different skill sets to differentiate
  5. Considering there is little need to get IFHE now (19mm->25mm), it will be even less relevant post nerf, especially with cruiser armor buff supposed to happen at the same time.

    Upcoming Battleship buff

At least then there is risk of game having at least semblance of balans

    CV Rework Discussion

I had few cases of stuck icon on normally returning planes from attack wing while acc bailed had icon working normally and they zoomed back to carrier in no time Boost only speeds up process. Bigger question, why you don't boost within AA to start with

    CV Rework Discussion

Just press F immediately after dropping and look at plane icons... provided they don't bug out and get stuck Which is in game for what, 8 months at this point?

    Upcoming Battleship buff

Looking at other large cruisers have... don't set your hopes high. Neither 180mm nor 230mm main belt will help you when shells with 500mm+ penetration are coming your way, so all you can hope is underwater citadel and/or trollish turtleback.

    Upcoming Battleship buff

This is part where you trade Henri for brand new large cruiser that WG will conveniently add to Croissant tree, having 50mm HE pen at base

With new glorious bomb drop pattern and fact every scrub I'm about to bomb somehow mastered location of A and D keys, 10k+ on BB or 404 hit rate not found... I'd go with the former

    Texas nerfed hard

First planes as in you see attack wing taking damage and falling from the sky or "first" as in from right-to-left on squadron status bar?
  14. Panocek

    Texas nerfed hard

WG introduced with first hotfix of the REEEwork "damage reduction" thingy, stating 30% dmg reduction on "bombers", but actually no one bothered to test it. This damage reduction seems to apply only on attacking wing, not whole squadron... which is at odds with dps focusing last plane in squadron. So basically whole damage reduction is a myth since 0.8.5, unless you shorten squads to last attack wing and/or squadron gets shredded to the point only attacking wing remains. Before, whenever dps "attacked" attack wing plane, it had its damage output reduced If in doubt, working as intended https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/update-085-rogue-wave/#balance

    Texas nerfed hard

Considering AA focuses rear planes instead ones about to make a big boom...
  16. Panocek

    Texas nerfed hard

Not really, as only attacking wing gets damage reduction. Not hp boost. So two out of 6? 8? planes get something, rest is AA target practice
No i potrzeba 6 salw z krążka by zaorać taką ilość 20tek zamiast 5
  18. Yea, Alsace. Which pays for luxury of rear turret with 5km less range, worse reload AND worse sigma. Also said rear turret have quite crappy firing arcs, so most of the time you boat around in inferior Richelieu tier higher. Repu have 2 quad turrets total but have 24s reload on her guns because 30mm overmatch and better penetration than Yamato <15km isn't enough. Lyon have 16gun salvo, but only 4gun when bow on... or when not showing pretty much entire broadside for penetration for that matter.
  19. But... but... superior german (over)engineering...
  20. Which refers to Retardieu and Justin Bieber only. Like any other T8+ battleship? Or you're trying to say 60mm waterline armor on Bismarck class is less than 32mm? They never had it in first place. Wargaming logic at their finest: IJN BBs have superior range and dispersion, so lets give them accuracy upgrade. USN on other hand are slow inaccurate-ish turds decent at brawling, so lets give them range upgrade

    Upcoming Monarch citadel nerf

Free Exp sink My main pet peeve with Monarch was ATROCIOUS dispersion, making Germans blush. So what you've managed to sneak up to cruiser at 11km, full broadside available if only to score only one overpen. HE? Not really better than tier lower while having one gun less per broadside. Retardieu, BB I've played simultaneously had much better dispersion, on top of that 25km range, compared to 18km on Monarch. And that range was handy in T10 heavy games.

AFAIK ST can put their feedback about new toys which may or may not be sent to shredder by default, but their main purpose is to deliver stats to the spreadsheet as well to do menial QA tasks like bugchecking islands, testing ships for holes in armor etc
  23. Landing shells on deck is actually quite rare occurence unless you're shelling with CL from 14km+ away. So GK and Kremlin have 150mm upper hull Yamato/Conq/Repu 32mm Montana 38mm And 50mm deck fail to protect against 10 cruisers (Hipper sisters, Roon, Hinden, IFHEnri, Kron, Stalin, Alaska, Azuma sisters). Remaining 19, armed with 152mm or 203mm can at best set it on fire. Still better result than 32mm or even 38mm. How about bow and stern? Well, GK have almost entire bow made of 60mm, Kremlin have 120/60mm and only upper half is actually "weak". Both ships have significant chunk of steel on stern as well. Any other BB have 32mm across entire section. So you've got actually better armor than it should be and you're still whining? https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Gunnery_%26_Armor_Penetration#Shell_Dispersion kinda dated graph, coming from 0.7.11 (Russian BB here means Nikolai and Okt. Rev). Germans use the same dispersion as Croissants and Pastas, which is barely worse than US, UK and two Russian premiums Turtleback isn't feature unique to Germans, but what makes German turleback works is its angle, nicely working with in game ricochet mechanics. French turtleback is a joke in comparison. Dispersion is the same as Germans, so "muh baguette gun control" very much. And this is shell flight time at her max range of 23.3km. Very Freedom I might add. Bonus points for Bismarck and Retardieu ballistics French "turtleback" works simply because citadel is underwater. Brits show you don't even need turtleback when citadel is that low. Bayern citadel protection: 350mm main belt, VERY steep turtleback of 30mm, guaranteed to ricochet any BB munition you can encounter without failplatooning AND underwater citadel Fuso: 305mm main belt, 76mm turtleback protecting only magazines, where also main belt thins down to 229mm. Citadel at waterline. Gneisenau: 350mm main belt, steep turtleback of 110mm, underwater citadel Nagato: 305mm main belt with unfortunate octagonal shape around front and rear turrets, mildly angled turtleback of 289mm at magazines and 76mm otherwise, citadel above waterline Bismarck: 320mm main belt, 120mm steep turtleback, citadel, shockingly enough, ends at waterline Amagi: 254mm main belt, barely angled turtleback of 102mm at magazines and 95mm otherwise, citadel, shockingly enough, underwater Freddy: 300mm main belt, steep turtleback of 150mm, citadel, very shockingly enough, above waterline Izumo: 356mm main belt, mildly angled turtleback of 127mm at magazines and 76mm otherwise, citadel above waterline Wurst: 380mm main belt, steep turtleback of 150mm, citadel ends at waterline Yamato: Citadel directly exposed with 410mm main belt, glorious octagonal shape neutering any angling attempts and Yamato tier exposed citadel So, only case where IJN have "better" armor than Germans is at tier 9, where both lines have their stinkers, so its like fight between diarrhea and constipation, you want neither to be a victor Conveniently, lowtier German BBs are borderline immune to overmatch AND have underwater citadel too US designed their citadels with idea of withstanding ship own guns at "combat ranges", which usually were 15km+. And then you have NC/SoDak/Iowa case, where introduction of SHS ammo defeated their armor schemes at pretty much all ranges, hence Montana class were uparmored. Not because "they have Yamato"

    CV Rework Discussion

IIRC WG recruits players to ST from whole spectrum, so potatoes are tbh expected... That and glorious UI "oh, plane red, lets pop heal", only to plane register as shot down the moment heal kicks in, which result in heal mostly wasted With current CV REEEwork you can't find balance either. If AA stops planes on first approach, carriers are useless. If AA doesn't - whine will follow. If AA permits only one attack run, then CVs are borderline useless, having to throw significant amount of planes to deal any meaningful amount of damage while surface plebs whine anyway.
  25. 32mm plating on all around arms cruiser rounds just fine, so no difference here, bonus points for HE vulnerability I wonder if it has something to do with, I dunno, historical accuracy? From gameplay standpoint it also justifies idiotproof armor layout, while WG can put stronk secondaries and hydro as "brawling" gimmick *if* is key word here. But *when* I hit citadels in my Bismarck, they hurt like any other BB sized munition And I don't see big accuracy differences on Bis, if anything one gun less makes her tad more vulnerable to RNG trollling... so is Richelieu Part you're conveniently skipping is faster reload Get yourself BB with actually exposed citadel, do "turn of death" and tell me how that went compared to "not working german armor" Only turtleback armor rendered meaningless is on Hipper, 30mm citadel roof when subjected to >430mm gun massage.
