What Premium Ship do you recommend?
Panocek replied to ________________Morrison's topic in General Discussion
I'd advise AGAINST tier 8 ships due to matchmaking being what it is, you should already have sample of it with Atago. Tier 6 and 7 can be freely used in Operations for comfy PvE games. Azuma is THE worst pick from hightier premiums simply due to her combination of big, not exactly nimble and armor made of porcelain. If you want tier 9, then Jean Bart, Georgia and Alaska are fine picks, depending on what ship you fancy. Selling premium ships is never good idea, but if you have credits back on your account, contact WG support to restore "accidentally sold" premiums. -
Graf Zeppelin Dive Bombers needs to be changed.

its not like WG could roll back HE pen buff for 105 or trim secondary range a bit during basically rebalancing ship from scratch- 67 replies

Just drop the thing down to tier 6 and give her non gimmicky, normal Stuka+Me109 complement. Its not like T8 carriers have fun and engaging times, while T6 can see some use in Operations.- 67 replies

I wonder how game would react when I'd throw Yoshino or Conqueror of mine into the mix, stacking negative with negative
-
I'll happily not take them, as they come with "tier 10 bus" ticket Though I'm actually surprised to notice 19mm amidship on Fiji and Edin, which covers substantial amount of the ship nonetheless

Potato teams are norm, not the exception

Considering theme of the game, one can assume salt is a given

You know, "troll armor" works when you're not the one steering the thing Still, for open water jackassery Kebab style but larger, I can only recommend Croissant cruisers. With tier 8 being the highlight IMO

You know recruiters do their job when they put right man at right position (or clan for that matter)

When the Supercontainers for WG's anniversary?
Panocek replied to Amun_RA's topic in General Discussion
WG, as any other company understands one and only thing: money. If they deem "excessive player rewards" as hurting to their income, they will reduce then. And they did, as Supercontainers in 95% cases are pure waste of screen space. -
Considering WG almost doubled continous dps in 0.8.0.1, I wonder if old AA, as in 0.8.0 "flak oriented" one with 0.8.5 dps plane focus would be a good starting point.

No. Fletcher and USN 5"/38 in general caps at 15.6km max range tho, no matter how many range improvements you tack

Then you discover "acceptably crappy" spot in WG balancing routine, where x could use a buff, but its not crappy enough to actually do it. 113 tank in WoT for years was such case, consistently last in all parameters but not last enough to actually do something about it

If in doubt, working as intended.

Hydro in game is almost guaranteed to provide detection against subs. Same with surface spotting, though due to subs rather small profile I wouldn't expect larger detection than DD. If you take a look around, almost every DD and number of cruisers have depth charges of one flavor or another modeled... for years. Knowing WG and their catering to baBBies I almost expect BBs to have them too because why not Carriers were mentioned to get ASW toys as well, though that was at stage where CV REEEwork merely started to rear its ugly head. Halloween subs had very little hp in general, so any HE shells sent its way are bound to hurt. Mines - no. They were brought number of times and always denied in Q&A. My primary issue with submarines - DDs in game already fulfill their niche without their slow speed and limited number of launchers. Subs had 6 forward launchers at best and were considered fast, if they could break 20kts submerged. Compare that to average DD, which also happen to have guns to pew pew at

In Azur Lane yes. IRL, two separate ship classes, heck, even types converted into carriers. Akagi is/was Amagi class BC, Kaga was Tosa class battleship

T10 must play with T10. End of the story.
Panocek replied to AlphaBaboon's topic in General Discussion
No. And that is not my point of view, but WG economy model, where players are constantly "motivated" to get next, bigger, badder tank/ship/whatever to club with, not be clubbed by. -
I've forgot about torpedo belt, which adds 25mm. And based on wowsft, Odinburger needs to be closer than 4.5km to punch through all that effective armor at perfect broadside.
-
Armored belt Citadel bulkhead Odinburger pen (wowsft) Throw in short fuse time, so shells might detonate before reaching citadel hitbox and I wouldn't count on it

Being serious doesn't help either

Hmm, perfect timing to ask about that spotting bug, promised to return -
DPS might be able to score more kills... assuming you're the target. On other hand, MAA lets you click third of a squadron away instantly as soon as they are within range, which may or may not bring "AA screening" into game. Which would be fine, assuming dps wouldn't be so effective to start with. What about AFT skill in regards to AA? flak damage increase wasn't worth before, WG made any changes to it to accommodate for mid range not having flak anymore?

And yet WG had no qualms to push REEEwork into live, so why should they worry about tiny AA change? On second thought, MAA skill dealing flat 40% squadron hp might still be viable on "AA" ships. While constant dps won't increase, it won't decrease either, so you can maneuver with ship as you see fit without worry about planes leaving sector, also 30s cooldown is short enough to keep blasting incoming squadrons. That and high base dps would make quick work with whatever left of the squadron in no time.
