Same story with Somers, heck, even as tier 10 she have nerfed gun reload to not render Gearing obsolete.

5.7km detection alone at tier 7 makes her extra balans.

And so far 53kts top speed I find to be insufficient against all the hightier railguns unless you tack AFT and pretend you're cruiser, doing pew pew duties at 15km+ And considering Le Fap is outspotted by at least half a kilometer, going all out Russian isn't bad idea. And before "why Ruskies when Baguettes can into pew pew as well" - Russians get their balans ballistics as early as tier 5, while French replace their mortars with guns proper as late as tier 8. Ruskies have 42kts+ base speed from tier 5 with exception of Gnevny, while French get such speeds from tier 8 onwards. Ruskies carry smoke and from tier 8 onwards they can replace it with heals, so you have button to fix your mistakes, unlike French. Sustaned DPM is also in RU favor, burst is French thing due to MBRB though. French have better concealment and overall better torps, which can lead you into having an idea of carrying out DD duties like capping, which due to still shitty camo can quickly lead to your demise. French also have better range, but only on hightiers its of any use. Nonetheless, amount of people abruptly reminded about Kiev/Tashkent torps is not insignificant And RU/FR "gunboat" team aspect pretty much ends at assisting DD entering cap, as contesting caps on your own can end with you REEEing considerably.
