Returning gamer - have questions regarding ingame information for new ships (Premium CV)

Only thing coming to mind as "Research for Enterprise, Kaga and Saipan are finished" is announcement of them returning to the store due to CV REEEwork, as they are premium ships. Though WG is known to sometimes hand out high tier premiums to returning players. Check Combat Missions->Personal Assignments if you've got any personal mission to obtain them. -
Mixed thoughts on AA sounds - large caliber lacks oomph, while mid caliber sounds more like drum roll to me. Why large caliber AA can't reuse sound of secondary guns? That and it would be nice to adjust acoustic as well visual "rate of fire" to be more fitting for the ship in question - Mutsuki putting out wall of tracers and firing sounds you would expect Iowa class to do is... eyebrow raising somewhat.

Considering next in line T7 cruiser in terms of long range "deeps" is... Fiji of all ships at 81dps, you know balans is of finest quality camrade. That and with hull upgrade Myoko for some glorious reasons loses 10dps on her long range

Charles Martel works fabulously with double rudder mod and rare Engine Boost mod (available for coal in Armory), to extend its duration to 4.30min. That said, open water shenanigans early game, against multiple oponents can end you with being blasted back to port rather quickly, so first half the game you might be better served playing as regular cruiser - using island cover and being overall mindful of enemy positions. Still, in 2nd half of the game, when teams thin out a bit (and there is no CV to go after your booty) you can start open water gunnery against singled out enemies While Propulsion mod 2 is IMO go to pick for most ships, you get its effects from Engine Boost, thus Rudder is better for French cruisers to improve their handling.

Its Fun and EngagingTM mechanic, so yes, it is necessary -
To balance for majority of players we should have automated main guns and automated movement, so Average PlayerTM can play tetris in peace

The only way to "receive full spread of torps" is to [edited]up spectacularly. Flood was nerfed to be as "lethal" as fire. With maxed out DoT reduction you can pretty much ignore any DoT unless you're bothered with secondary effects - detection penalty or speed loss or out of heals. Except DoT from torpedoes is 404 not found, compounded by flood nerf. And yet, despite "all the HE and fires" available in game since day one, AP is still main threat to battleships.

And how you would balance outright immunity besides fully recoverable DoT damage? Kremlin have 46% torpedo belt, bested only by Yamato at 55% at tier 10. SoDak class in game have 49%. Wurst have ultimate torpedo belt in shape of German Hydro. I guess these 3% make all the difference between crap and great

Even if you get "penetration" ribbon on non-Kebab and non-Haru DD, damage is still capped to 10%. And Leningrad in question detonated, so you can't exactly see 5x overpen damage Yoshino (310mm AP) despite 3x penetration scores only 2595 damage, which is 865/shell. Exactly overpen damage

So "DD guns in general" are a problem or single specific, 100mm/65 Type 98 And "haz torps" - Shima have whole 15 of them, yet is considered one of the worst tier 10 DDs. I wonder if it has something to do with how easy torps are to evade, thus how unreliable damage source they are. Indeed, BB torpedo belt should not only give immunity to torpedoes, they should even heal glorious BBmasterrace

To have "decent-sh AA" you need more AA mounts, simple. And guess which ship class have room on board for more means for the crew to excercise their 2nd amendment rights. Not only that, the same ship class came out either unaffected or straight up improved during Wargaming balans shenanigans -
And its exactly just that in game - even with magic of IFHE DD caliber guns can't touch your precious hightier baBBies, only fires and superstructure is there to be damaged. And damage saturated modules still eating damage were introduced simply because people reee'd about ship taking 0dmg after ship section was saturated, so I'm afraid you will have to live with it BTW, Wurst and Kremlin superstructure saturates after taking as little as 14k hp. Just a, you know, FYI

Take Scharnhorst for a test drive? She's decent ship, if somewhat overshadowed by newer additions. But in Narai operation, she shines HARD. And versatile enough you can make her work with any captain, BB, cruiser or whatever you can come up with, so as German trainer you would be hard pressed to find better pick.

Free Exp sink, also another balans smoke+hydro boat, except unlike Zeds, guns can be scary. -
Have ever thought of "everyone damage everyone" is part of "balance", or whatever passes for meaning of that word in WG dev team nowadays. If you want immunity, maybe heavy tanks in World of Tanks are up your alley

Especially balans is fact hightier baguettes are comparable to IJN "torpedoboats" in terms of gun dpm and need MBRB to be of any significance there Torps are fast and hit quite hard, but 8km range on +-6.5km detection during Age of the Carrier and Age of the Radar and no saving gimmicks doesn't mix well
