Ring ding ding we have an answer for "is MAA good" It can help when used on ships with VERY bad AA, alternatively late game when most AA mounts are destroyed. Still, initial blast is too weak AND it depends on current squadron hp, thus it won't help you against shortened/incomplete squadrons

1st (mob) fleet backline been truckin as is since 10th map and healing output lets pretty much anything as vanguard to be "viable". While I can replace zuki trio with Phoenix and still get the job done at 3rd of fuel cost, I'd like to level someone else than go-to shipgrills and wall of dakka triple zukis provide is both surprisingly effective and memey despite being considerably underage. Boss fleet is where I run into kinda issues, mostly due to lack of 105+ lvl ships except prototypes. When trying to run 3x BB or 2x BB+CV Roon is first to fall despite being sandwitched between iBucky and Saint Louis, hence Unicorn as emergency duct tape and screen clear. Clevelands, either three of them or with Helena stuffed somewhere just don't dps enough, though that might be tied to being underage by 4 levels. Nelsons both with gold 381 just to bury with barrages on double tap auto give impression to be most effective, as manual aim with that kind of torpedobeats is... less than doable at times. -

Sounds about right for Wargaming -
Frenchies indeed love to lose rudder, though on tier 8+ you can almost eliminate that (and discover other gameplay than camping behind islands) by installind Rudder mod3

2nd run through 11-2 and Harutsuki bigger sister waltzed in like its no big deal -
Cleve can park herself behind any island and pepper you in peace with 32mm HE pen. Chapa can do to lesser extent, but have much better range and ballistics. Haru range isn't that short for smoke carrying ship, especially if you apply the same range extenders as on Smolensk Also again 32mm HE pen.

"LittleWhiteMouse" views on Russian BB line (from Russian Tier VIII BB "Lenin" review) compared to some old(er) BB lines - namely German...

Improved Vigilance and Torpedo Armament Expertise would be just right -
You could argue if "first reveal" is the same as release to live server

Superstructure big in size? Yes. But it saturates after +-13k damage on a ship with 100k+ health. And unless broadside for some AP massage, you can't damage any other part
-
Back in the day, "who get 12 people aimed at me" was almost a challenge in Russian DDs, barging in the middle of the map early game and pissing into everyone morning coffee equally Still, it was and still is an art to do so without getting smacked in return though.

American cruisers in general have quite well protected engine and rudder against HE splash damage. You still can lose engine from eating citadel, but if that happen, you usually have bigger issues than broken engine taking JoaT as last two pointers is more of a case of "nothing better to pick".

Looks much better About skills, most of them with exception of Concealment, Last Stand and IFHE (when applicable) can be summed as: Demo Expert for example, gives on paper +2% fire chance. Sounds okay, but tier 10 have built in 50% fire resistance, so in practice you're getting only 1% extra when firing at tier 10. Vigilance can be handy during early carrer, but the more time you play, you *should* get familiar with typical torpedo lanes as well how to preemptively evade torps, rendering skill kinda useless. SE have most impact on ships with tiny hp pools like destroyers and Smolensk, but also you take more fire and flood damage, as these are %hp based.

Survivability Expert:

Preventative Maintenance can be argued if its better than Priority Target - IMO knowledge someone aims at you as well switched to torps and back is better than still RNG chance for engine/gun/rudder damage Expert Marksman is wasted on Wooster due to extremely high base turret traverse unless you want helicopter memes. Switching to Adrenaline Rush is more than advised Demo Expert isn't bad, but on tier 9+ cruiser you would want Superintendent for additonal heal CE and IFHE are good picks
-
And yet, all this dakka for no direct damage to glorious BBmasterrace. Heck, even cruisers are safe when running around without IFHE
-
That is why bug is in quote marks
-
Considering WG nerfs not overpowered feature of the tank/ship/plane but everything around to make as not fun as possible, "bug" such as this sounds surprisingly sound... by WG standards.
-
Well, he lost one plane and most of the squadron was halved in hp and presumably most, if not entire squadron was wiped for whole 17k damage. Wasteful? Very. But then, "bombers will get through" was the case even during "darkest hours" of 0.8.6 1st wall of flak (9s) basically ended as he/she/apache entered the area, most damage came from 2nd wall, assisted by Republique. And that would be it for flak
-
So, Halloween ships will be for coal?
-
Well, its mandatory, otherwise all you can do to ships bigger than DD is fire damage after saturating superstructure. That or AP to the unarmored bits when broadside
-
Depending who you ask. Guys eating flak? - not really
-
IIRC one of the Q&A, WG already consider "REEEwork" to be done from technical level, all that's left to do is "turning dem knobs" so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
To be honest, WG already flattened AA enough, so plain %dps could do - Shima have 49/98, while Gearing have 63/108/105 in terms of dakka numbers. Neither can do much against T10 CV At least Akizuki knockoffs can live up to "AA destroyer" theme (or meme for that matter), having better than average dps numbers and more flak One does not simply unscrew a pommel with a Bofors
-
Flat %dps increase Excavatus edition could work perfectly fine, but it would be straight up buff to high AA ships, while crappy ones are still left in the dark. Flak on other hand used to be (used, as most weak AA ships are stripped of it as of now) to be at least sort of equalizer of the AA. You could bypass that by giving flat damage value, but then you would need to set said value manually per ship/ship type/tier/phase of the moon/whathaveyou to avoid going back to square one Maybe not so much wished, as spreadshiet showing carriers being in somewhat balans conflicting with principle of the REEEwork, about making carriers more popular
