Is Puerto Rico to Alaska what Yoshino is to Azuma? Need advice.
Panocek replied to genosse's topic in General Discussion
Yoshie is better Azuma (minus credit bonuses and longer heal reload). Better reload, range, AA, 30mm amidship, torpedoes. PR is... kinda different Alaska - 30mm amidship and 38mm deck, 254mm main belt but worse reload, worse dispersion-better sigma, maneuverability and concealment to justify 4th turret. -
Exact kind of fallacy as implying Kaga is worse, because she needs 4 TB per attack wing compared to Shokaku. And then Kaga needs no returning planes whatsoever for launching next full squadron. Twice If you can't assemble complete attack wing in Kaga, then you know you've fluffed up. Spectacularly.

With your logic, (using TB as example) 1600*12=19200 is "not very big difference" to 1670*9=15030, which is 28% increase. And thats before adding SE into account, which, if I can into math, gives 200hp per plane, which in turn 21600hp vs 16830hp, which only widens gap. With speed difference being 2%, not 20% in Salty Crane favor Shokek AP bombs have much higher damage potential when they score citadels. Otherwise, HE bombs of Kaga can slap anyone for not high, but reliable damage due to HE and 54mm pen. Torpedo payload - Kaga have higher damage output when you score 3 or more hits. And due to her torp drop pattern, she seems to be surprisingly effective at floods, with one torp hitting bow and other hitting stern on your average BB or larger cruiser.

Same issue with Enterprise. On other hand, Saipan and tier 10 planes in general suffered minor nerf to hp, having only +-200hp more than tier 8 planes of same nation, which no way compensates smaller squadron size, replacement times and reserves. BTW, Implacable planes are sturdier, with exception of rockets faster than Saipan and, hilariously enough, have (much) faster replacement times. Which makes her almost good in comparison Almost, as brit armament is speschul as usual.

To milk failed design as hard as possible.

I've highlighted the reason for you. Why pay once, when you can pay twice?
-
Tier 3 and 4 don't really care whether they see two or three carriers, simply because they can't deal with one CV
-
Last time I've checked Enty and Kaga aren't in tech tree, up for grabs for free. And ones up for grabs have neither lol reserves nor lol replacement times

You know the drill camrade, play carriers yourself if they are "OP". Inb4 carriers UP thread

Yay I guess. Not quite sure what gameplay impact that would have besides different logo. Snorkels could/were supposed to (in first iteration) restore oxygen as well That might be bigger square peg than round hole you're trying to squeeze into I'm afraid, if its supposed to look even remotely authentic, remain balanced (not to be mistaken with spreadsheet balans) and fun. -
Well, its REEEwork principle for attack to make it through. But question is, how sustainable is throwing planes into dense AA in the long run Also that hit wouldn't be 10k, for that you would need to land 6th rocket. And even then something got saturated, as 5 TiT slaps should net 8.9k damage More interesting is turret knock out with AoE, as direct hit would end with 540dmg (10%)

It doesn't matter who makes spreadshiet, it matters who interpret it

Exactly something you have to do in Yoshie to actually make use of your "secondaries", as their firing arcs are almost identical to main guns, and those are set "just right" to get citadels under front turrets. Speaking of one, 310mm guns, just like whole concept of large cruisers combine worst of both worlds -need 51mm effective armor to arm the fuse, so against cruisers or broadside all-or-nothing armored BBs you will get overpens only, while you can't overmatch any relevant armor thresholds AND you can't score AP pens on DDs -lengthy reload, even on Yoshino and with reload mod you still have 16.3s -AP pen is insufficient to punch through T10 BB armored belts unless presented perfect broadside and below 10km just to be sure, only Glorious ships can pose credible threat to battleships in terms of penetration -178mm plating can protect against only against CA guns and above 15km, preferably with some angle to it
-
1. if anything becomes lower, as amount of shells hitting torpedo belt/armored belt increases. 2. imagine not everyone willing to show broadside to embrace spreadful of torps or *gasp* even taking countermeasures. Did I mention some ships tend to have more hp and actually useful torpedo belt? 3. dying in 2nd minute with "noob team" in chat shortly afterwards is an option too I guess in terms of speschul builds, you might as well go with secondary Neptune. She got one Daring per broadside, so on paper you got quite a firehose strapped to quite an AP hose Or Secondary Hakuryu, who could say no to 50% more dakka than Yoshino
-
Obviously, 150 dps more for "feature" to go back to port in an instant is totally worth it. Especially when dealing with ships having 5 or 6 digit amount of hp You still can't launch second set of fishes. And by time you get to launch them, crew in citadel will suffer significant emotional event. And 12km torps are "brave" option, usual "safe" option of 20km torps have 62kts AND 2.5km detection, which is considerably worse than German fishing department.
-
He... doesn't know protocol how to play ship with actual citadel so And B-65 is "citadel first, ship second"
-
Secondary build even on most suitable ships is "situational" at best and "memes" in 99% cases. And whole "dps calculation" doesn't take into account 90% of the shells landing in water unless you're uncomfortably close, but then amount of shells hitting armored belt is also uncomfortable, so in final result you might as well run with captain butt naked instead secondaries. As well firing arcs, which are... not that good on Yoshino due to all guns being in line, instead superfiring. If you want "armor weakspot", check... any other cruiser than Hinderburg, you can't get better protection than citadel with turtleback, ending at waterline AND 40mm reiforced bow section, conveniently placed to protect citadel bulkhead when advancing at an right angle. Here is hint what is "wrong" with Yoshino torpedoes when it comes to "convincing" enemies at short range Where Yoshino armor shines though is fighting bots, as they aim at center of mass. Due to sheer length of the ship, chances of shells hitting front bulkhead are surprisingly small when advancing at an angle.

Proof of Concept Test - Cruiser plating and Inertia Fuse High Explosive (IFHE) for Tiers VIII-X, second stage of the test.
Panocek replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
inb4 locked and "feedback thread already exist" HE that can be ricocheted off simply means "bow towards enemy" all the time, on top of usual AP resistance, which for some reason benefits battleships considerably Whole concept of "bowtanking" as in ricocheting ship grade munitions with plating meant to withstand weather and water is iffy to start with. -
Secondary Hinden is less... Speschul build, both due to 25mm HE pen on day one and armor layout actually useful at short range brawls. That and 8 fishes per broadside which are WAY more convincing than some pew pew

Looking at forum badge, don't you think you would be first guy "dev team" would actually attempt to listen to? Besides, HVAR type rockets from my experience are rather... ineffective at "stripping AA off". TiTs on other hand tend with RNGesus blessing can oneshot whatever mid caliber AA mount they hit. And Cossack relegated to two machine guns isn't exactly AA powerhouse
