Enty rockets are actually one of the weakest in terms of damage and amount of rockets per run, barring Kaga. What makes her THE anti DD carrier, is rocket accuracy and plane handling on top of having one attack wing extra.

Its somewhat unlikely given AL being rather successful at the time being. Still, some backup option for offline play would be nice -

More historical IJN ships, please!
Panocek replied to MementoMori_6030's topic in General Discussion
These ships are low to midtier game content at best, how is WG supposed that so sell you for 60€ upfront or 150€+ in loot boxes/convoluted event currencies?- 37 replies

Germans developed acoustic guided torps, which homed in towards picked up noise. They weren't locked on tho. So in game terms you would have "dumb" torp that would start homing towards targets when closer than... I dunno, 3km?
-
On one hand, you have absolutely idiotproof ship design - ship mostly immune to small and medium caliber HE, with superstructure and (small) bow/aft sections being viable targets, citadel well hidden AND protected by turtleback armor, so only chance of scoring citadel hits on them is at medium to long range and even then its more by luck than skill. On other, you have still somewhat lackluster accuracy (at least I haven't quite noticed improved dispersion), usually subpar amount of guns and remarkably vulnerable to AP bombs from above. Secondary build is fun, but not exactly effective unless you go all in AND you happen to be in secondary range more often then not. If you can't close in to make use of them, points and upgrades spent are dead weight... nay, less than that, as you don't have more useful upgrades and captain skills like survivability, concealment or main gun accuracy. From personal experience, Bismarck always was "workable", but I usually had better results when not desperately yoloing in to make use of secondaries. And if you're sitting at mid ranges with tank build, why not play pretty much any other battleship that happens to have more useful main guns?

PSA: "WoWs Premium Time" is now 50% OFF - also available for Doubloons inside game!
Panocek replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
We had the same kind of discount year ago. Which implies next year might be equally turbulent in terms of development, thus WG want to use sunken cost fallacy once more "WG broke game again but muh yearly premium is running away" -
Voted Free Exp. Only to see what kind of pricetag WG will put on it

Sendai as tier 6 would have to be supersonic buffed. We already have Yahagi (Agano class) as tier 5 and its hardly decent ship. Tier 7 could be Mogami class (Mikuma?) in CL config and then ship lines merging or WG would have to go full napkin mode. And started on Azuma research, mostly because new ship type and tiddies Upcoming event with Shokaku getting an exp gain buff is also handy for first task -
German cruisers in general have increased HE penetration at expense of shell damage. Thus, they can deal reliable, if chip damage to most targets they can lay their guns at. On other hand, German AP on DD and cruiser calibers deals substantial amount of damage - even if you can't land citadels, you can inflict a lot of hurt from regular penetrations. German cruiser guns also combine lightweight shells with high velocity, which in practice means their penetration and shell flight time drops off noticeably with range, something worth keeping in mind. Up to and including tier 6 (Nurnberg) they are all light cruisers with rather quick reloading 15cm guns and absolute glass for armor (both plating thickness and citadel position). Tier 5 and 6 have quirky two turrets in the back, one at the front layout, which can prove annoying when "advancing" and you want to keep yourself angled. On other hand, rear turrets have 360 traverse, so shifting broadsides is quick. From tier 7 they turn into heavy cruisers with 203mm guns and usual traits so far follows - heavy AP damage with quickly diminishing penetration and subpar HE damage, albeit with 51mm penetration, so almost all battleships are viable targets to sprinkle HE at. From tier 8 they gain (in)famous tankiness, which stems not from plating thickness, but from well hidden citadel, protected by turtleback armor, making them disturbingly difficult to citadel at short to medium distances. 27mm hull plating also helps with ricocheting 380mm armed battleships, any bigger guns will overmatch bow anyway though. Tier 9, Roon is essentially upscaled Nurnberg with 203mm guns and hidden citadel, doesn't have 360 traverse on rear turrets unfortunately. Hindenburg I'd say is easy to get some results due to 12gun salvo with quick-ish reload, high HE penetration and decent base range, but she, just like German BB line are short to mid range brawlers shoehorned into long range standoff meta, where both teams are scared to press W Fun fact - Admiral Hipper class, despite having 16k tons of displacement have only 80mm main belt and only 8 guns. Baltimores had less displacement, almost doubled main armor belt (152mm) and 9 guns in better armored turrets. Muh German overengineering.

I don't quite see how WG can monetize the out of it under "play lower tiers" pretense Then there is issue of people who already regrinded/FXPd their way through lines.

Probably far enough to realize one needs to insert coin for premium boosters. And then, realize to insert coin again to buyout ship. -

Well, its russia so "soft drinks" start with vodka -
Basically all Slot 5 legendary upgrades you can write off by default, either due to losing Concealment or in Khaba case, Steering mod3. Yamato, Moskva and maybe Gearing. First two due to accuracy buffs, Legendary Gearing have the same camouflage as Shimakaze (5.6km) with minimal gun dpm penalty, making her one feisty cap contester. Rest are too much tradeoff to be worth anything besides memes.

Does AA Guns Modification work on Dallas B-hull?
Panocek replied to Polka_Bravo_946's question in Newcomer Questions
If you click on module, you can see actual stat changes once you expand ship stats on the right. In Dallas case, she seemingly "loses" flak because she gets medium caliber AA guns (40mm Bofors) and those don't have flak mechanic, but she still retains her large caliber AA. As why she loses dps on long range with hull upgrade... this is part where Wargaming spreadsheet says "balans" -

I'm really struggling with the Fuso, need advice
Panocek replied to Nexio_'s topic in General Discussion
Nagato is precise slug compared to Fuso buckshot. Which also means if your aim is off, RNGesus is less likely to guide shells for you. And all tier 7 BBs are powercrept by SinOP, if you remove that example of glorious engineering tier 7 BBs are in roughly good spot in terms of balance except Colorado due to usual standard battleship suspects. On other hand, almost all tier 7 BBs suffer massively when uptiered due to glorious overmatch mechanics and "armor progression". -
