Armored Warfare tried to wedge themselves between WoT "arcade" and WT "realistic" tanks... they haven't quite succeed at it despite being essentially clone of WoT with modern flavor. And thats with "help" of both sides being arrogant and immune to player feedback

Shima IMO always was good ship but for the wrong reasons - camo and speed. And decent guns when specced for them, though throwing yourself at nearest gun hose and keep fighting it is still not advised. But then, you can outrun and outspot those. And hilariously outspot those who can catch up to you From other DDs... I play only Brits now, due to 7 smokes which happens to be the best CV counter.

As Free to play? Grab tier 6-7 premiums that happens every so often in marathons and just play them in Randoms or Operations, though WG is steadily increasing requirements, so be warned. Warspite is handed out as part of "recruitment" thingy, but how that works exactly I don't know. If thats not an option, then find tier 5-7 ships you enjoy the most, these tiers with modicum of effort can be fun and bring some credits along the way If insert coin is an option... then mix and match what you're willing to spend -premium account -silver tier 10 ship + premium paint for 5k doubloons -premium ships with emphasis on tier 8 and 9, as those have potential to bring you the most coins

Umm, bug where you could torpedo yourself during turn was fixed years ago... -
Under-turrets is universal weakspot as ship doesn't have shoebox shape, but narrows down on both ends. Thus shells that would ricochet off main belt in the middle, may punch through the same armored belt under turrets

Citadel placement is in the same area for all ships, varies how exposed it is. And given 99% of the cruisers in game were build to the same specifications or bound by the same treaties, their protection doesn't change that much in practice - DD guns needs to be uncomfortably close to penetrate citadel, CL will struggle past 10km, CA can pierce at most combat ranges and against BB guns... pray your WSAD hax is up to date because armor is certainly not.

To make actual use of recovery bonuses you have to keep taking "just enough" losses to avoid full deck, while also to no find yourself flying around with incomplete squadrons. On other hand, if you just keep throwing planes left right and center, one or even two planes recovered extra probably won't help you. This actually makes Kaga actually viable pick for stacking SA and FCM1, as she can afford losing squadrons randomly, so she can keep recovery at close to maximum efficiency which is still dummy idea to trade 6+ planes to recover one more down the line -

One-two planes... assuming recovery isn't stopped because more planes returned than anticipated. You take off with 9 rockets. You have very successful run of molesting lolibotes with only one plane loss, which was recovered in meantime you were busy with lolis. If you don't take off with rockets before last wing returns, you will have full deck and interrupt recovery. If you take off and keep managing rockets to squeeze that one plane extra, your TB and DB sit and do nothing, which applies both for their damage and recovery And I'd very much like to see you take off with 0.43 of a plane -

As I had some opportunity to play with glorious SpreadshietTM, I've noticed Air Supremacy skill is borderline useless - 5% shorter plane replacement means no actual gain in 20min battle timespan on all carriers with base plane replacement time longer than 61s, and that assumes you immediately take off, keep losing planes and battle last full 20min. Even Enterprise needs rockets replacement going non stop for 931s (15min 31s) to get one fighter extra with Air Supremacy Alone. Air Supremacy + FCM1 plane regeneration bonus gives tad better results, as you can recover up to two planes more than stock... again, if you keep losing planes and battle lasts 20min. In more practical terms, even best case scenario, Enterprise can recover one fighter extra if she can keep running her fighter replacement for 442s/7min 22s. Other carriers with 66s-99s timers needs to have replacement going for 595s-893s straight to recover one more plane. -
