German battleships aren't famous for accuracy and this trait sticks with them on all tiers. Positioning and knowing when and where to push in battleship is THE hardest to master from all classes, on other hand, battleships are easiest class of ships to get "something" simply by virtue of having range and throwing at the wall hoping something somewhere will stick AP against cruisers and battleships, HE against destroyers. HE is an option against angled battleships and you know he/she won't show broadside AND there are no better targets. There almost always will be something spotting you, either planes or destroyer. That's why trust in your WSAD skills for salvo evasion, while unpredictably sailing target is absolute PITA to land torps on. There are islands you can make use to fire undetected, assuming someone else does the spotting Also don't look at absolute damage numbers, as those are next to meaningless. You can spent entire battle farming battleship for 100k dmg and still fail to kill one, or you can blast two destroyers for 30k and tip the game in your favor

Armor belt doesn't change, only upper hull and deck is. And at T10 only Des Moines sisters will get anything, as rest of the cruisers already have 30mm bits. Which doesn't help when 430mm+ guns casually blast third of your hp with pens alone.

Except you will remain fodder at high tiers due to 430mm+ guns everywhere. Helena will still require IFHE to touch BBs of same tier. And the moment you face T8+ battleship, you're not going to damage it with HE shells AND you have halved fire chance for additional fun and engaging.

I'd almost expect WG to pull out 155mm guns from Mogami and sell premium Mogami with 155mm at tier 7. Especially with this Classic example of creating a problem and selling solution to it

Moskva overpens stuff mostly due to need for 36mm effective armor, which for usual 30mm cruiser upper hull means 36 degrees or higher angle. Not exactly "broadside". H4 suffers from that as well, 305mm large cruisers are in even worse spot.

I'd argue whether 152mm is bigger than 180mm. For existing 152mm autoloader mounts you could point towards 6"/50 Mark N5 (Minotaur) as well.

One way to differentiating between CLs and CAs would be giving 32mm amidship plating to the latter on T9-10, so they can actually try to tank BB shells. 30mm was relevant when there were only Yamato around from "big gun" battleboats.

For IFHE to be a "trade off" just nerf fire chance. This change achieves essentially nothing - IFHE still needed to deal direct damage to cruisers and battleships. And then T7 and below CLs lose ability to damage 32mm plating whatsoever. Only "positive" is 19mm pen on 113mm guns and 32mm pen on German 128 secondaries.

Given Bayard is literally premium test bed of 1/5 HE pen, one can guess WG was set in stone about IFHE changes for quite some time and they aren't going to change that.

AFAIK one of goals of whole IFHE REEEwork is to remove 32mm pen from T7 cruisers and below. You can't have too much fun camrade. Whole change is one big convoluted mess, achieving essentially nothing, while improving cruiser plating is actually a nerf, as there is no shortage of overmatching BB guns. If anything, it means easier BB AP pens on cruisers And looking at this "changelog" post, its literally repost of previous IFHE change post, at least I see no actual changes between iterations.

The same reason WZ-111-5A was removed from initial Aliexpress heavy tank line and replaced by 113, only to be added years later - game wasn't quite ready for this much powercreep back then. Kutuzov appearing now in WoWs would be "strong but balanced"
